Barmouth Bridge is a right of way for motorcycles... up until couple years ago it was a toll payment there was a sign on barmouth side by the toll booth with the cost but its been taken down.
@@motorbikediaries many locals and none locals I think not keen.. but it is a right of way nothing can do... I've been over many times and always say thank you to everyone... don't think I've ever been acknowledged back though...
@@pwynn14 Very similar experience for us too. It’s a much more direct route too. If memory serves going around adds on about an hour. I could be mistaken, it’s a while ago now
…..you’ve got a real passion for left side of the water. And middle! Stick to the bank and walk alone it if you can’t see the bottom- try not to wing it!😂 did you use a garmin as your tracking looked good - which garmin?
You all rode v v well btw, not easy solid rock with water. Those trails are extremely hard going even with a light enduro bike, the front wheel just does it’s own thing. Brilliant riding. Where abouts did you have to turn back, so I can be warned? Cheers
Only seeing your comment now, apologies. But it was a brilliant trip, we where all a bit underprepared for the trip tbh. I still had the stock tyres here which are incredibly poor for off-road riding. We plan on going again next year and will be better equipped. We turned around where all the jeeps where stuck, so about the half way point I believe. We started getting conscious about our ferry later on the same day and if we got stuck it would have been a disaster
That looked horrendous. Fair play for trying in such conditions. I'd love to try that in the not too distant future, but in drier times. Can I ask what tyres you all had on and does really make that much difference?
Tyres do make a world of difference especially in mucky conditions like we had, you can get away with a lot in drier conditions but good tyres are a must. We all can’t wait to head over again but unfortunately when you are booking something in advance the weather is always going to be a risk.
@@motorbikediaries Many thanks. I am currently running on the Tractionator Rallz but while they are great for the wet muddy conditions I thought they were a bit too much for the dry conditions such as TET Spain. Looking at 'toning down' a little and going for the Tractionator Adventure next. Good luck with Wales next time; it's on my list for next year.
Nice video, doing it myself this summer, I think the Happy Valley lane is closed at the moment for repairs, bloody 4x4s ruin it for everybody.

Interesting and good to know. We where told it was a right of way but going across and getting some dodgy looks we started to question ourselves haha

just keep going, never turn back - always try to hold momentum and it is much easier - stand at all times if possible

A motto as old as off-roading.

@@SeanMacNia Thinking of trying the RallZ next myself. The Adv is an amazing tyre, really really happy with it
Can you touch ground with both feet - I’m thinking of getting a T7 but it’s tall for me and I used to a simple enduro bike ( in my day)? Cheers
I can’t but to be honest with more and more confidence I don’t believe it’s necessary. An advantage for sure but not necessary
you need to come back and do it all before you do bastard lane.
Its on the cards for next year
