Yes i agree susan. You can tell he clearly went through this before. either witnessing abuse as a child or whatever. He was done seeing or hearing about it. It was time to stop it in his eyes.
It's a horrific way to handle the problem, but if they just arrested the abuser, he would just punish her worse when he got out. This video makes you think, which is what is needed, to find a solution for this domestic abuse problem in America.
6 months ago, my daughter's friend left an abusive relationship with her husband. After she left, her husband called her mother & said, "I'm going to kill your daughter". Her mother called the police & a restraining order was placed on him. But, the police said there wasn't anything else they could do, unless he actually did something. Less than a week later, he quietly slipped into her house one afternoon & slit her throat from ear to ear, killing her instantly. Her 16 yr old son found his mother's dead body, when he came home from school that afternoon.

Zero hesitation, zero guilt. FYI, I am a mother of 2 girls, & have 6 granddaughters & 1 great granddaughter. Hit any of them once & you are history. I'm old, life in prison wouldn't be that long & worth everything.

In a typical scenario like this, I would agree, but the man did reach for his shotgun and at that moment its do or die. and No im not advicating self defense here, cuz him taking the pistol into the house showed an intention to do it anyway whether he would have or not. Do you know how many men get out of jail and then either beat up the woman or kill her? Also, it was a small town, how many people in the local law enforcement did he know?

He was a man of faith (evidenced by the court scene bridge (Oh Lord have mercy on me was not asked to the court system... it was a plea to God) and visibly evidenced by the cross hanging on his rear view mirror... was his action legal, obviously not based on the trial, was it morally just.... that is up to each individual for you cannot legislate morality... but for every victim of DV, he would be an answered prayer... and for every man... the story forces the question... @Constantin Clipa I listen to morgan, but a great country song is a story, and this is the best story song in a decade. it is the epiphany of what country music should be. plus, HARDY does write quite a few of Morgan's songs . including Morgan's first ever hit.
