signalwave is carrying the core of vaporwave because of it's heavy nostalgia emotion. it's a hidden gem, and almost no one heard of it except us. it gives unlived sad nostalgia.. there's something with it that i cannot explain.. maybe because it's unknownness.. it's the mp3 version of analog horror.
This was beautiful. Thank you for the read. There’s always been something gorgeously haunting and dissonant about vaporwave that we’ve seemed to have lost over time. This deep longing for a world we can never return to. Signal wave definitely returns to these roots. I imagine it’d be like returning to a distorted memory of the past, or a dream in which you know you’re dreaming. Revisiting the past knowing you shouldn’t be there is sort of a terrifying thought. It’s like not being able to let go while being afraid of what the unknown ahead holds knowing the longer you hold on the more distorted the image becomes. Like melting memories fading into nothing. Idk. It is indeed the analogue horror of sound. Glad to see people feel similar things here. Love this community a lot.
My grandma had an inner city house with old furniture. Each piece had doilies on the armrests. The radio always played low volume soft music with faint static. The bathroom florescent light flicked and buzzed. Same [buzz] with the old Westinghouse refrigerator.
Feels like walking into an old room in your grandma's house that's been locked up and forgotten for years. Your childhood and early adulthood have all passed. However, everything is still in its place, albeit covered with dust. You sense a slight scent of mildew in the air, so you cover your nose and mouth. It feels like stepping back in time, as the technology you are seeing is from yesteryear. This room and everything in it seems so much smaller than when you saw it last...
Carpet's sound is immensely underrated. Jus always love that static hum that protrudes the mix of each song, which is continuous. A 10/10 signalwave record!
Glad that you're uploading TV2's "carpet dust" releases! Such a cozy and soft release! "carpet dust" was one of the inspirations behind "antenna decay", so I'm glad that it's also getting uploaded to this channel.
This feels like I'm 19 again, going into my best friend's basement where we had friday night game nights; we'd drink whatever beer we found or scrounged up, try out running our PCs or PS3s on a wood-paneled TV he had down there.
Please support the artist directly on their page!

@@Shibby4L that's the best thing that i read about signalwave. sadly, there aren't much things about signalwave. hope it'll be more popular someday :)
@@signalwave_then it wouldn't be this nice little niche community anymore :(

I am also a huge fan of signalwave with heavy static.
that good old analog tv, when you would leave it on an empty channel and just hear that low buzz....

All of TV2's work is wonderful! You'll only see more of it here as time progresses.

i wish tv2 released more under her carpet dust alias, it's all great
I wish TV2 released more period. She seems to be on hiatus for now.
@@signalwave_ miss her dearly
@@true_equal She’ll be back when she’s ready one day. Until then we’ll be patient for her and ready to support her when she’s back.
