Earlier tonight I commented that My Sweet Wyoming Home was my fav Bill Staines song. I was mistaken. Roseville Faire is the best Staines song I know. ❤
Bill Stains is a unique man and troubadour. I first heard him on a college radio station in ‘82. Next weekend I went and bought a used guitar. Been playing ever since. Had the good fortune of seeing him about ten times. I still come back to his songs for inspiration and his unique understanding - that like his coyote song - resonates in the heart with the bittersweet tinge of love for this wonderful mystery life is and sorrow for its fleeting nature in the endless river of time. I believe it was Mississippi John Hurt I heard interviewed decades back and he spoke a simple wisdom so well, ‘Be What You is, if you old and ugly Be old and ugly but Always, always...Be What You is.’ God continue to Bless Bill Stains.. an old fan
Will you ever put the album "the first million miles. I have the CD. But would love to have it my playlists for spotify. Btw. I was blessed to see you at a church in Bremerton WA. You are truly a great performer and songwriter. I sat only a few feet from you as you sang and played that night.
Such a lovely song, guitar, and person. How fortunate this was captured on video. ❤️

crying and don't know why. terrific, authentic performance.
The song affected me the same way.
That's all right, we all get to cryin' now and then
Thanks for the Coyote song! Touched my soul!
I remember Bill from the Y-Not Coffeehouse in Worcester, MA from the early 70s. He was a regular performer back then. Great troubador.
Markus Coydog turned me on to this song. Now it is one of my favorites.Haunting and beautiful...

For the Coyote in all of us. Thank you, Bill!
