Actual repair process is at 17:30. This seems to be a common weak point with SRAM trigger shifters. The square gets rounded off after a while and doesn't seat properly into the square pegs which designate each gear that go along the circle. Great video showing a cheap fix!

we have the same shifter. Mine was that it doesn't go down and upshift 3gears, just in the middle gears.
Whenever I downshift to lower gear it doesn't click it stays hard. and whenever I upshift the shifting just ends there in the middle, it doesn't goes down the smallest gears.

HELP! For the spring on the silver paddle side where does the one end go? It is clear to me that the opposite end goes in the "hole" by the threaded hole. Does the spring have to be wind at all?
Thanks. I need this repair before leaving for Whistler this weekend.

Sorry, Bob. I can't understand what you saying about.

I wasn't able to determine from your video the position of the spring on the underside of the shifter. In the video you did that operation outside the view of the camera. But ultimately I think I figured it out. Your video was still helpful to me.

I'm glad to help you, Bob! But all parts inside can be installed only one way. You can't assemble it wrong. P.S. sorry for late reply.

It has been a few years since you released this video, I hope you are still monitoring this. First off, thank you very much for the detail video, although you didn't cover *everything*, but it gave me enough idea to do a detail cleanup on my unit. I lost my shifter cover on a rider and didn't realized it until recently. I ordered the cover and used the chance to do the full rebuilt. When I finished and watched your video again, I realized there is a spring that's missing from my shifter. Must have just flew off when the cover was disengaged. You can see it on 27:19. It's a large L-shaped spring that wound around a post and pushed against the shifter in some way. I googled around and looked at many diagrams, but still could not figure out the name of that spring. If you are familiar with it, I'd appreciate if you can advise. Thank you.

Hello, Henry! Since this video i didn't service my shifter. It works great, yesterday i was on track and checked it. I can't say about this spring. I think you can find something similar in rear hub ratchet where used mechanism with "dogs" where every "dog" has it's own spring. Or you can use springs from electric switches which were made with flat springs inside. Maybe you can shape it for using in X0 shifter. I hope this info will help you.
P.S. Yes, I know thay this video is not ideal, but someone who really needs tech info about this shifter will be happy and just use this information instead of clicking dislike button because video has not really good quality or recorded not good enough.

Got it, thank you. I jerry-rigged the spring from a large safety pin just because the "loop" is there already. Not ideal but the cover keeps it in its place. I also left a message at SRAM support online, I hope they will surprise me with a scrap part!

Half the assembly is off the camera. This gave me headache and i might throw this shifter and upgrade to something new instead of puzzling

At some point you're right. I had no plan for recording this repair, but when shifter started working I decide to record it. May be one day I will record detailed video about this shifter, I thing when it needs to be greased.
