When I was working at the Fort Worth Cabelas store we got a bunch of P7PSP’s in 2007. They were turned in German police guns and were factory refurbished. These guns had a purple tint on the slides. We were selling them for between $500 and $800. A fantastic buy. Even PSP’s go for a premium today. I have a P7M8 that came in from a collector unfired. It’s my favorite handgun next to my Ed Brown 1911.
I have two of these Purple tint and all West Germen Police in the black plastic box all tools and paperwork . I paid $650 each and was told I was over paying at the time .
Nice review. The P7 series is my all-time favorite handgun. The M8 version also has an larger trigger guard/area and a plastic heat shield on the bottom of the frame, above your trigger finger. There's also a P7K3 multi-caliber, and a .40 cal. version called the P7M10. I have nothing bad to say about the P7 and carried my worst-condition one as a CCW for many years.
Outstanding video! Many years ago, I lusted after the HK P9S and HK P7M8, could never afford them. My HK P2000sk LEM with Gray Guns Short Reset is my only HK gun at the moment.
Never shot one, but handled one quite a bit circa 2008/09 back when they were being surpluses for ~$7-800. Definitely a fast handling handgun and ergonomic. Kick myself for not buying one then since they seem to average $3K now…
Not many handguns beat inflation long term, but the P7 certainly did. They were $600 new in 1980, which according to the CPI Inflation Calculator is $2,283 in 2024. On Gunbroker a 98% P7 with original case would be over $3,500.

Beautiful! One of my grail guns. Won't be able to afford one for awhile.
