    Wow a variety of top airlines here and aircrafts. Long before Easyjet existed

      LGW was completely different in the 90's, before Easyjet had a massive base, and the Beruda 2 ruling was scrapped, and lots of USA flights had to fly from LGW.

      @@geaircraftvideos938 ah Bermuda II. That was abolished in 2004 then DL, NW, US and CO starting flying from Heathrow. Only Delta now exists. NW was acquired by DL. US by AA and CO by UA. With that treaty between 1977 to 2008 if I remember 2 US carriers and 2 British were allowed to us LHR to major US hubs. Pan Am, TWA and BA later Virgin. In 1991 Virgin made it 4 as opposed to initial 3 PA, TW and BA. Later PA and TW sold their slots to UA and AA respectively

      @@rajnirvan3336 That is a good overview of what happened. For me, that is when LGW went really downhill, when the US carries pulled out and went to LHR.

      @@geaircraftvideos938 exactly Delta are planning to try again. Virgin also said they'll return in future but still own slots

      @@rajnirvan3336 That is correct. Delta are re-starting flights with a B763 to New York. Could be a while before Virgin come back.

    These are the kind of LGW spotting videos I love watching, the ones which feature the old airliners and airlines especially if they're filmed from the old Skyview Spectators Terrace, all of which are now long gone. Hoping to see more and more of these LGW videos in the future if you have anymore to upload.

    LN-BRB was taken over by SAS after the merge in 2002. Then it flew for Brussels Airlines a while.

    TANAY. EXCELLENT MEMORIES THAT IS 1993 THAT YEAR I BORN 23OCTOBER 1993 MY BIRTHDAY CAME JUST FEW DAYS TURN 27 CANT BELEIVE I AM LUCKY I BORN 90S I HAVE THIS DAYS AND GROW UP TO SEE THIS AIRPLANES NICE MEMORIES.

    I remember flying there on us air(ways) twice in the 90s, like lgw’s scenery way more than lhr’s despite longer commute

    We flew from Gatwick to Sanford Florida in early 1990s on an unknown charter flight. I believe the aircraft was possibly ex US military with seats facing towards the tail. The livery was holiday style including palm trees. Anyone any ideas.

    That Canadian Airlines livery was similar to BA Landor and current Delta tail

    American, United, Delta, Canadian .. it seems all the North American carriers used Gatwick in those days, even those that also had a presence at Heathrow (unless some of those were LHR diversions for some reason)

      All of these flight were in the video were scheduled LGW flights. Back then, only American and United were allowed into Heathrow. All other US carriers operated into LGW, with American using both airports. This meant LGW had a huge amount of flights to the USA every day, with AA, NW, DL,US, plus VS and BA.

      @Easy Drive, Thank you for your comment. That is very true. LGW had 5 American carriers back then. Does it have any now? Not an Easyjet in sight back then. It was another 4 years before there first flight.

      @@geaircraftvideos938 I still remember seeing a Virgin 742 through the glass at Gatwick in probably 1999. Majestic in the early morning light
