When I slowed the pace down (65 from 80), the game felt good to me. There's some inconsistencies with the collision system, but as far as handles, I think it's pretty good. It's all about the timing with the dribbling.
I turned down blocks and some other things, because the amount of blocks in the game was getting ridiculous. This is a highlight video, I assure you a lot of lay ups were missed in this game. I would rather have the contact lay ups than 10 blocks a game. I'm definitely going to test these current sliders I have when the full game drops. I think I got the game to play to my liking, but some things still need tuning. Hopefully EA Access on Friday so I can find out
ThaLiveKing I love Live this year, getting it for sure...but I won't lie, some of the players are OP to the 10th power. LeBron will jump 20 feet, KD is virtually unguardable (although I did make him miss a lot of shots with the Rockets). And all of sudden, this new patch has DRose making contact layups and dunks like it's 2011!! It's cool, I don't mind the OP factor, I take it as a challenge...a little NBA Street vibe mixed in there
Live definitely has made a HUGE step forward since their last *almost* release, but it still doesn't beat 2K this year. Body types are a little off, it still has those clunky "Live" animations when running/dribbling, and idk what difficulty this is on, but too many shots were falling. Could see them really putting up a fight within the next couple of years though which would be a nice change of pace, making 2K really have to step their game up.
Johnathan Bravo commentary is terrible. They've got Mike & Jeff in studio together like they've never done games with each other before. If the Live team can do what the Madden team has done in making commentary as up to date & conversational as possible, it would only get better from there
+Marquan Pittman actually commentary can be something that could impact actual gameplay. At times it could be very entertaining and realistic like 2k13 was in my opinion. Plus for a franchise like nba live every little thing matters if they want relive their old status

I'm seeing too many comments negative comments about live some of y'all are nick picking honestly. 2k have a book full of flaws and yet y'all are criticizing EA for little things. I give EA props because live 16 wasn't playable in my opinion but 18 is. EA should have the true reaction of the players..LeBron he celebrates but not like that and not in that situation..the movement in both NBA2K and Live is robotic but Live seems a little more smooth and realistic like...
I play on 65, they actually sped the game play up in the last update (to 80 from 70). I think to control your offense, it's better to have it slower than the normal speed. It varies.

Live's graphics are better than 2K's IMO, the lighting is the difference. I may have found something in regards to smoothing the animations out too, just gotta dig deep.

Mike Breen sounds like he's only reading from a script & JVG has annoyingly generic lines like "to be in the finals, you've got to win this critical game." even the halftime show with Jalen desperately needs work when you hear "this guy is cold, this team is on fire." EA MUST use their ESPN integration to full force for NBA Live 19 & beyond
2k has better graphic but Live has better gameplay and detail(notice no cheese when dribbling, better layup animation packages and more combo moves when dribbling). The ONLY reason why I'm buying 2k is because of the classic teams. I MUST have that feature in a basketball game. But if you don't care about that feature then CLEARLY live looks better. I have no reason to hate on any brand. Live looks more robotic but at the same time, it's smoother. 2k STILL has canned animations, the SAME layup package, the SAME signature dribbling and they didn't even work on individual sigs. They have been pumping all of their true intellectual capacity into their Prelude/ My Park feature. Their 5 v % game play has improved but not nearly at the level that Live has made the jump from Live 17 to Live 18. You can hate but at one time Live had the dominant market share. If they get those classic teams I GUARANTEE Live will start to take back its market share. I mean look at the views for Lives demo. 2k dominates the market but CLEARLY more people are excited about this game than ever. If anything it's going to make 2k step their shit up for next year.

8,000 people got Live 16, yet everyone wants Live back because of one poorly made game in 2K17. Did EA fix anything from the long hiatus with Live before so why trust them now. From the differences from 2K17 to 18 that I saw are big minus MyCareer and the other online modes. Great changes to player faces, like Iggy, The Truth, Wilt, Shaq, Lebron, Brook and Robin Lopez, MJ, Pip, The Worm, Kareem, Larry Legend, etc. The All-Time Teams, more Classic Teams, putting some more Legends in like Carlos Boozer, Kevin Martin, Al Harrington go to the '07 Warriors, Caron Butler, Gerald Wallace, Clark Kellogg, and some more that are role players also, while Live 18 only has the WNBA which should be a different game, the coloring of the players which is a heluva lot better than 2K17.
If Live wanted to they can do those legendary teams, but for some reason, in the EA Structure, they haven't done it. NHL 19 is looking to add legend teams, hopefully Live follows with them. It's very possible.
