Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.
So fascinating 👏 in fact mesmerizing 💯🙌 one of my favorite poem, Former stateman Nelson Mandela would recite this poem for us in the youth league. He said it gave him courage whenever he needed it most while imprisoned. The poem is a masterpiece.
The name of the poem is Invictus by William Ernest Henley. I'm not sure which book that is but the poem has been used in many books, movies and speeches.
@@maximusgreed because i see you really want to know: Straight is the gate. maybe diff. title mine was not in english the poem mentions that book "no matter how straight is the gate" as a reference
the way he speaks is as much captivating as it is; unmatched.
The way he speaks can be sympathetic, but ice cold at the same time. Very intriguing

Ráadásul.tisztán, lassan ,érthetően beszél végig minden részben
I don't know. Morgan Freeman's version is amazing to see. I would watch that before making this call. But they're both great.

The poem itself is an absolute masterpiece. Combined with this delivery it's almost unbearable.
Couldn't agree more. His reading of the last few lines and the beat he takes make my eyes water.
Agreed
Simply beautiful. Thanks for the up.
