His fault for stopping on the tracks! Though, i do see how confusing af that intersection is... Still no excuse with the big X and the obvious big ass locomotive.
Back in the early 1960a, my parents owned a restaurant. I was 13-14 years old and very much into model railroading and rail-fanning. Once a month, I would accompany my dad on a drive into Vernon to visit the Real McCoy Meat Company where he purchased all his pastrami, corned beef, and roasting beef. At that time, Vernon was the ‘’meat packing center’ of Southern California and all the big meat packers had their operations there. The railroads brought in both live animals for slaughter as well as butchered/dressed hogs, cattle, sheep, and goats. As a result, there was a ton of switching operations involving stock cars, iced and mechanical reefers, offal cars, brine tank cars, etc. All the switching operations at the various meat packing houses ALWAYS involved street switching moves. The motive power included mostly SW type diesel-electric switchers and I recall seeing AT&ST, SP, and UP logos. Great railroading operations!
And boy did it stink. I worked near Soto st. in the early 90’s and there was a fat rendering plant near there and the smell in the afternoon was so bad it made me want to vomit.
I used to go there quite a bit on a job I had more than thirty years ago. I always looked forward to it because of the railfan aspect. I miss the old 9th Street wigwag! Nine tracks, one signal. In fact, the last time I was in Vernon was when I was aboard Amtrak pulling into Union Station! Great video as always.
The Union Pacific 1150, aka " Graffiti Dripper ", yeah, it's graffiti-riddled, but it does has a little bit notarity...of sorts. A Local, no doubt about it, great catches by the way! At least the face looks decent.
Although I really dislike the graffiti (lack of respect... almost shows that the taggers "own" the object they graffiti...) the evil grin with pointy teeth on the plow/cowcatcher is great!😝
I absolutely love it! The switching and the graffiti. Here in the East they usually don't tag locomotives so it's interesting and entertaining. (I don't condone the spraying of graffiti on Private Railroad Property but it is cool).
I feel like we have just given up on Graffiti. If nothing else you can repaint the Snow Plow and The Fuel Tank. Something is better than nothing. Heck if I knew I wouldn’t get in trouble I would do it for free on my dime.
I feel sorry for that GP60! All that graffiti is horrible! If it could talk, it would be saying how it misses being on intermodal trains and being front line power in its original SP paint.
cant have crap in california. If it doesn't get covered in graffiti, it'll just get destroyed in a wildfire. they could have at least covered that thing in good looking graffiti lol. good video though!
Conductor didn't give a damn he was bouta let the engineer run that suv ova 😂
What an S-hole😂😂😂

@YYCFilmer yeah true true, does take some people longer to figure it out

Interesting story! Must've been a sight to see. Thanks for sharing!

The stench of the old Farmer John slaughterhouse still plagues the air
@@averageguy7136 that's true. When the wind blew in the wrong direction, is was actually difficult to breathe.

This is some serious ‘down and dirty’ railroading. Great video
Thanks!
Great local action. LA has some of the most decorated switching locomotives in the world
Thanks!
I work for UP as a signalman. I’ve seen a lot of power in my 15 years. Great video.
Thanks!
They added a new UP engine in train and rail yard simulator
The face painted on the front of that locomotive 😂😂😂
Some 'clown' done that to be funny.
RIP britt alcroft the creator of thomas the tank engine ❤
That is the most gangsta train I've ever seen
"All you had to do was follow the dam train CJ"😂😂
lmfao @ DRIP too
I assumed those tracks were abandoned because I never saw a train. Thanks to you I can finally say I saw a train on those tracks
The graffiti on the trains is something else. Never seen an engine covered like this
Nice, this is an awesome video of the J yard switcher. Keep up the great work.
Thanks!
What a beauty/ That sound as well 6:22
Thanks!
Horrible graffiti !
I used to tell the engineer blow the horn and keep coming

Love this footage of number 1150

@@LARailProductionsWhy is the locomotive covered in graffiti that spoils the view? Is this vandalism?
There’s something you don’t see every day: railroad tracks in an alleyway and a locomotive rolling on said rails. Buildings on each side.
It's quite a neat operation!
That train is gangsta AF 😎
That '86 Toyota van sure still has the pick up to out run the 100 ton locomotive.
I like the face on the train.
Great captures, excellent video ! Happy 2025 !!!
Greetings from Orange County Ca;

Thanks!
That locomotive has definitely seen better days
I think it looks cool
Spirt of Los Angeles, new up heritage unit
Awesome video, When do these run, I’ve been trying to figure it out
Thanks! It's pretty random, I got lucky
Although I really dislike the graffiti (lack of respect... almost shows that the taggers "own" the object they graffiti...) the evil grin with pointy teeth on the plow/cowcatcher is great!😝
That locomotive looks like it's been on a 10 year bender and did a stint in federal prison
1:55 car almost got hit scared when you see a train coming 10 mph and is 10 foot away and you’re on the track
It looks like an HO scale model with that bent rear handrail stanchion
Crazy drivers no patients
LA Knight: DUMMY! YEAH!
Typical drivers, not being patient and almost getting hit by the train.
Can't fix stupid.
Unfortunately
Great video
Thanks!
Muy buen video Like merecido amigo increíble 😮un saludo 😊
Nice trainz
Nice Video one day I Plan To Catch LOW10 and LOW20
Good luck. My realm is a very unforgiving place
@LARailProductions yes thank you will Try planing It Out.
originally it was UP1150
sadly now its DRIP
Union Pacific Locomotives needs a repaint from all that Graffiti

Crew of 4 ?
One of them was a student brakeman.
Holy that’s a lot of graffiti why has it not been taken off?
It's a losing battle. They repaint it, and the graffiti will reappear in a week.
I feel like we have just given up on Graffiti. If nothing else you can repaint the Snow Plow and The Fuel Tank. Something is better than nothing. Heck if I knew I wouldn’t get in trouble I would do it for free on my dime.
@@LARailProductionsWould be cool if the graffiti was in the style of UP and they made it look cool instead of just a mess.
I appreciate that this locomotive was used as a tagging paradise but nothing was malicious about it.

Great chase! You earned a sub!! Great video.
Thanks!
Steam trains in the 1800 or in the 1960’s used to go there but are now scrapped
I actually like the face on the front 😂
Someone should paint the other end smack smack smack is not interesting
Now there vandalizing trains
It makes me sick to see that engine painted that way.
Holy crap! @1:55 Is the conductor trying to hit a car? Safety first...uh...well...maybe not.
It's Cali who's cares 😂
