First of you got me with the whole little entrepreneur kid story😂😂😂 I fell for it…hook, line and sinker. I bought the Tripltek 8 based of your recommendation and love it. You have a lot of valid points and valid arguments for the Tripltek vs a controller with a built in screen. I also threw in a micro sd card in to my Tripltek for mor storage. I think I may have to support Kenny and his little channel and growing business.😂😂 I’m still laughing. That was awesome, Russ!
Another great review Russ! I have been on the fence about the 9 Pro over the new RC Pros in both the Air 3 and the Mavic 3 Pro. I'm currently using the 8 Pro (that u sold me on 2 years ago) with my Mavic 3 and I love it! I'm 61 years old and the big bright 8 pro is awesome! I have a really nice Lanyard from DJI with thick neck padding making it very comfortable. So, if I do upgrade to the Mavic 3 pro after your review I will go with the 9 Pro as well. Just started flying 2.5 years ago and currently fly for a Marketing Company and my own gigs. I'm Moon Mullin on You Tube and just started posting some videos. Editing is still tough but learning all the time! Thanks again Russ I Love what you do for us on the TUBE!!!
Two Christmases ago my wife surprised with the Tripltek 8 Pro. I love it and t's only 100 nit dimmer than the 9 pro . Still bright AF. I use it for my Air2S and my Autel Evo Lite +. I use it to watch movies, surf the internet and I have even used it as a phone when on Vacation. Great tablet and customer service is great too.
I've had the 7 and now 8 Pro. I've been on the fence, and I blame you for knocking me off. Ordered the 9 just now. I gave my wife the 7, and now she'll get the 8. All really great products with great customer support. Thanks Russ!
Yea, this 9 pro is pretty tempting, but I still have the Tripltek 8, which still works great. I just don't want to spend the extra money right now, but I love the improvements, especially the HDMI output and the extra nits. Thanks for another great review. Marc T.
@oz10music still wouldn't pay 1k. Every android tablet I can think of has really underwhelming performance/specs. Any current phone I've had has better specs than probably every android tablet at the time....and I'm an android guy, don't care for apple but their tablets aren't as bad
@@omega42587 I"ve had an Tripltek 8 for a few years and for flying drones its fantastic. I also use it as a personal tablet, and for browsing the web, youtube videos and light gaming it is just fine. It is however expensive and yeah 1k is too much for the 9. Gonna pass on this one.
Great video. I placed my new Samsung tab s9 ultra on a foldable table and used it with the RC-N1. Wow, what an amazing experience using such a big tablet during a flight. But you have to take a foldable chair to the drone location as well. 12:40
I've been using the Tripltek 8 for 18 months now, partly due to the recommendation on this channel. It's a life saver. I fly drones in a tropical location (33-36 degrees C), and any other LCD turns dark, overheats etc. within minutes. Highly recommended!
Great product introduction video. Another advantage of using a tablet as compared to a controller with display is the larger screen size. That helps a lot when filming (for selecting the right view and reading the drone related data at the same time).
Well, I was on the fence on upgrading from the 8pro, but you just pushed me over the edge😃. I had the attachement from the little dude as well and it has been perfect on the DJI and Autel controllers. Mine has it's own phone line so I never have issues. Great vid!
All good points sir. I bought this when testing the Skydio last spring. It is a fantastic tablet and is currently my work phone as well as my onsite monitor with the raven eye for the drone feed and filming. Since I am currently using the Mavic 3 Pro and the RC pro controller it is not necessary for flying at this point, but having the convenience of the option over the iPhone is fantastic. Good job sir. Have a great day. BTW, I actually passed my 107 when I was in your town a few years ago and flew the Scandanavian park that you showcase all the time. Sorry, I missed you. Great channel. Keep it up.
You the man! I have had my Tripltek 9 Pro since it first was up for preorder, so that must have been a year and I have been VERY impressed with it, then I sold my Triplteck 8 to my brother..lol..
Get the 8 if you can't afford the 9. I've had it for a few years and it's awesome and just as bright, and I fly it with the Autel Evo Lite + w/o issue. AND it isn't a one trick pony - it's a phone, and it can be used as a personal tablet, it isn't just for flying drones. A big plus over the DJI. It's grandson approved too as my 5 year old grandson loves it and drops it often.
Nice tablet, but I'm sticking with my RC Pro even though I'm limited from future iterations of DJI drones... the smoother controls, convenience, and comfortability did it for me
Good video. I can't find any mounts for the RC Pro. Don't want to give up all the shortcuts it offers. Guess I have to wait for the RC Plus to work with the Mavic 3T Enterprise drone.
I love my Smart Controller, but it was only good for my Air 2 and then my Air 2s. Now with my Air 3, I have the RC2 and I really notice the reduction in brightness from 1000 nits to 700.
Congrats on reaching 250k subs, Russ. I've had the Tripletek 9 Pro since April. I was using the original Trilptek 7 since it came out 2 1/2 years ago. In the heat here in Houston the 7 was starting to act like my iPad 9.7...it would just shut down intermittently. I fly DJI as well as Autel so the consideration of the expense of the RC Pro vs. the Tripltek 9 Pro was a no-brainer. Many of the people I fly with are using the RC Pro or 2 that came with their DJI drone. Main complaint is not being able to download content and share it to social media using the DJI controllers. Also, the level of brightness on the DJI controllers doesn't come close to the Tripltek. My one complaint, and it has more to do with Autel, is that ANY tablet needs a specialized mount to use the Autel RC comfortably.
I thought I was future-proofing my operations by getting the RC Pro a little over a year ago. Unless it’s software-upgradeable to OC4, I’m going to be feeling some serious buyer’s remorse.
Hoping you do a weighing comparison between the two. Or you might have videos not over yet, in re all like the brightness and think it might be worth it.
We have 12 drones and one of our pilots uses the trippletec. Few issues over the RC pro. Fewer buttons, I use the 5 way switch on the RC pro constantly. Weight/size it's gets heavy and takes up a bunch of space in my kit. lastly, those colors look crazy over saturated which I realize is not impacting the final result but as a professional, I'm not sure I would trust it to set exposure and white balance.
Is the Tripletek 9 pro dual Bluetooth capable? An example is in their Motorcycle use case where you'd connect your phone and helmet communication device (i.e., Cardo PackTalk or Sena 50C/S) or headphones/earbuds?
Can I use this tablet with any drone? But more importantly, can I use the HDMI port to output the video from the drone to let's say a video switcher for Live streaming? That would be great. Thanks
hi Russ...........given your comments and my usage I believe the Tripltek 9 might be too high end for my needs with my Mavic Pro. Given this what other tablet would you recommend? Gr8 vid btw!
Seems like a really cool tablet if you are already a drone aficionado, but not what I'm looking for for my first drone purchase. It looks like the bulk of the comments come from people with multiple drones already. So what do you recommend for someone looking at the Air 3 for their first drone? RC2 or RC-N2 with a cheaper tablet? For reference, I'm also studying to take the Part 107 test thinking that I may use this as a part-time retirement gig.
I just got the TT 9. Wow, what a beast. 2 big questions, can i get a longer cable? Why is does the cable have a white end, which goes to the RC? I assume then that a standard usbC to C cable will not work
The Triplek is heavy and will hurt your wrists if you mount it like a phone. You need to invest in a Mavmount system that allows to position it above the controller where it is better balanced.
or they need a mount like the Crystal Sky used for the Mavic, where you held the tablet and the controller above it where you could still reach the sticks. Worked like a dream and the balance was outstanding
Russ, do you find any difference in range with the tripletek rc and the smart rc2? I have a tt8 and I love it but it is a pain as it doesnt store well in my kit box. I cant afford to upgrade to the 9 so I will settle for the 8 for a while but I am looking to get an air 3 and wondering which remote to get.
I have enjoyed your videos regarding multiple subjects; all covered well. But I have run into a problem recently which I cannot find the answer in any of your videos. I have been unable to fly a simple waypoint video scene (i.e. no hyperlapse). I don’t have a controller that will load litchi, so I use the RC-N1/TripleTek 8 and Air 2s; my only other controllers are: RC-remote, RC motion controller with goggles 2. Using this configuration, I keep getting the litchi error: “Mission Interrupted: Flight mode was changed.” Are you able to address this issue in a future video?
Hey. Great video. U are the reason i bought the tripltek 8 when it came out after watching ur review. My only complaint is when using the 8 as a regular tablet for watching videos the speakers on it are horrible. Wondering if they made improvements on the 9? Thanks!
Been following Tripltek since the 7 came out. If you can't afford the 9pro I would recommend one of the older models. The 7 and 8 doesn't have everything the 9 has but man they can still get the job done (in the daylight) and they are cheaper.
Great video, thanks! Question: I followed your advice and purchased the TT8 last year - which I've been using consistently on all my drones. As someone who used both the 8 & 9pro - can you point to any real benefit in upgrading - considering I'm only using this as a controller viewing device and a few drone-related apps? Thanks!
hello ?can i connect an ipad to "dji RC 2" by usb cabe or an hdmi convertor can i connect two remote to "mavic air 3" - dji rc 2 and dji rc-n2? thanks for you clips and help
Another one of your bloody beaut videos Russ, well done mate. I am running a Tripletek 8 Pro to fly my Mavic Air and Air 2 S. Do you reckon that the 9 would be much brighter than the 8 mate? Or just stick with what I use. Regards from Sydney Australia.
I have the RC Pro and I have the tripltek 8 pro and I use it when flying repeatable flights using Dronelink I just wish it was less in weight then I would use it all the time, it’s just soooo heavy, after flying for 30 mins you want to throw it off the building, without a lanyard to hold it up by your neck you have no hope of flying well with the weight of the damn thing, on the bright side yeah it’s fantastic and battery life is way more than you could use in a full day of flying honestly half the battery would have been fine and would make it so much lighter too, I don’t regret buying the tripltek but I don’t recommend it to anyone either as Dronelink works on the RC Pro so I recommend it as there are NO CABLES needed etc
Great video. If it runs well in hot climates that would be a major extra win! Does anyone know if one (or would i need 2) screenless controller can be used with this for both the M300 and Mini 3 Pro?
The Matrice 300 needs the enterprise controller , you can connect the T9 to the USB on the Cedence controller and you can control the M300 with T9. For the Mini 3 you will need the RC-N1
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 tablet is even better in my wiev! I use it and it is perfect! It also have a pen you can use on it! It have a "8" screen! Also it only cost about 520 dollar!
Interested in the HDMI output. Will it drive the Skyzone SKY04X goggles? While HDMI port is being used, does it kill the display on the tablet? Would like to be able to flip between goggles and tablet while flying my Air 3. Thanks Russ.
Thank you for the review. This is a remarkable tablet, and the advantages over other tablets, are really what caught my attention. Is there a reason why they decided to use 4G LTE as opposed to 5G? Also, the Wi-Fi capabilities mentioned on their website are not clear. So, it's dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) but is it Wi-Fi 6? I doubt that this is Wi-Fi 6e-capable but that would have been just too good. Also, Bluetooth what? 5.x? BLE? Does it support all carriers? Please ask your contact. Much appreciated. Honestly, I'm late to your party. I only chanced upon a couple of your vids, and already, it's been worth the time. Thanks very much.
Hi Russ I have a triplteck 8 that i am trying to sell. No takers so far at $500. Screen is bright but it is just to heavy. Switched RC display. Used mavic 3s are just not selling on facebook marketplace. I bought an Air 3 so i could sell my mavic 3. Air 3 is better for traveling and a bit quieter. Guess i was not the only one. TH-cam guys just love the Air 3. DJI mavic 3 pro with the RC at $2199 is a killer for those of us who bought original mavic 3 then paided $309 to the Rc. :( So now the question is to fly mini 3 pro or Air 3.
8:38 A very bad tablet with only 800x1280 resolution, claims it is a 2560 by 1600 pixels display. Four times smaller. You can notice it if you do a screenshot and look at the image info.
Excellent video! It looks like a great tablet, but I don't think I want that much weight and bulk hanging around my neck all day. I do most of my droning in the hot, bright Myrtle Beach SC sun. If it's really bright, I attach my StartRC hood to my Mini 3 Pro RC controller and the problem is solved. As for communications, I just use the hotspot on my Pixel 6 phone. If the controller needs more power, I connect to a phone charger battery in my pocket. Finally, with the bulky RC2/tablet combo, tourists could see me from far away, which I don't want because they all want to talk with me about the drone. I'm not trying to make new friends... I just want to fly over the Atlantic Ocean in peace.
It is bulky and heavy! The screen is my savoir for the work I'm doing! I do not use the phone on it at all so I don't have to worry about that distraction either!
Anyone know if you can pair the tablet with a pair of Fat Shatk Goggles? HDMI Out to HDMI in, to the goggles, and view what the drone is seeing? Thanks in advance.
if its anything like the matte screen protector for the 8, its absolute junk. its like 3mm thick, translucent so you lose some clarity and brightness... its not much better than gluing a plastic floor mat or acrylic sheet to your screen and then sanding the top of it. thats literally what it felt like. I bought it from tripleteek when I got the tablet and ripped it off almost immediatley
Worst hobby ever since Lawn Darts Fly the sim instead. Once you buy a sim, a controller, and combined with your low end gaming PC... you're done. Nothing more to buy, build, repair, charge, shop for, upgrade to... ever.
Matte screen protector? Dude, matte screen protect will reduce screen brightness. It will blur screen. O4 mind blowing? LOL! DJI RC screen brightness most of the time adequate? LOL!

Yep, gonna pass. A thousand dollars for an android tablet. Don’t care if it’s brighter than the sun.

Such a bummer but my RC Pro has handled 100f+ weather flawlessly. It handled better than I do. Worth it for my small side hustle.
Trying to get to the web page to purchase the minimal mount and going no where with a security warning????
Hi, is it possible to share my RC2 with a normal tablet?
Hoping you do a weighing comparison between the two. Or you might have videos not over yet, in re all like the brightness and think it might be worth it.

But does virtual flight work with it?

Yes, I am doing that with my T9 and the Raveneye

You would need a mount. They have them on the Tripltek site.

Are you able to address this issue in a future video?
Samsung 9 is awesome and waterproof

?can i connect an ipad to "dji RC 2" by usb cabe or an hdmi convertor
can i connect two remote to "mavic air 3" - dji rc 2 and dji rc-n2?
thanks for you clips and help
Crazy price , this guy is definitely getting paid by the supplier obviously 😂
The review you watched has not been sponsored for us , it is a honest review in every sense.
Thanks for sharing this Russ. Is the HDMI port input only, or will it output for goggle use?
The HDMI is output, so it works with hdmi googles
Didn't see link to 3D young fella
The DJI tablet that I bought in 2018 has 2000 Nets of brightness. The only problem with it is that it frequently crashes and it runs very hot.

Interested in the HDMI output. Will it drive the Skyzone SKY04X goggles? While HDMI port is being used, does it kill the display on the tablet? Would like to be able to flip between goggles and tablet while flying my Air 3. Thanks Russ.
The HDMIO works with the SKY04X and at the same time you can see the display
1338 euro , your having a laugh .Easy to say things are great when you get them for free
the only thing that this is missing is a stylus pen nd this could be the best business tablet or 1 of the best
Great video, but dang that price is high
IPHONE 14 PRO MAX GOT 2000nits but it overheats
At this point you can just get a 12.9inch iPad Pro which is just awesome
Russ!! I’m peeping all the firearm brands you’ve been wearing, show us what’s in the safe!!!!!
I’m an optics fan. My safe is pretty average.
I’ll see if I can get that info
Can’t purchase the controller by it self!

A very bad tablet with only 800x1280 resolution, claims it is a 2560 by 1600 pixels display. Four times smaller.
You can notice it if you do a screenshot and look at the image info.
That's pretty much day and night in nits, like holy shit 😂
I might have to look into this, my wallet don't agree though 😅
Russ, looks nice but have you been incentivized to promote this brand? I may still purchase but it helps put it in context.
FWIW, I'm a user who is not incentivized. Everything that Russ said here is on the mark. You won't be disappointed. They're built like tanks.

I do not use the phone on it at all so I don't have to worry about that distraction either!
i got burn in on mine after hardly using it. it is indeed way too bright.
Isn’t it JUST something?! Prices CONTINUE to SKY-rocket..damn near literally, and the ECONOMY HAS NEVER BEEN WORSE, and we’re just getting started.
I’ll pass on that price
Anyone know if you can pair the tablet with a pair of Fat Shatk Goggles? HDMI Out to HDMI in, to the goggles, and view what the drone is seeing? Thanks in advance.
It's a $1,000 tablet tho🤷
originaldobo !!!
if its anything like the matte screen protector for the 8, its absolute junk. its like 3mm thick, translucent so you lose some clarity and brightness... its not much better than gluing a plastic floor mat or acrylic sheet to your screen and then sanding the top of it. thats literally what it felt like. I bought it from tripleteek when I got the tablet and ripped it off almost immediatley

Fly the sim instead.
Once you buy a sim, a controller, and combined with your low end gaming PC... you're done. Nothing more to buy, build, repair, charge, shop for, upgrade to... ever.
Well considering I paid about $700 for my Sammy, that's not really an outrageous price. I really like the waterproof aspect.
Matte screen protector? Dude, matte screen protect will reduce screen brightness. It will blur screen. O4 mind blowing? LOL! DJI RC screen brightness most of the time adequate? LOL!
hell no
It’s not the brightest tablet, and it’s also bulky and unsuitable for drone flying. HUGEROCK X7 2600nit, 435g
