    This has to be the most robust shoe review I've seen on TH-cam. Surface performance vs other shoes and not one pair... Three different brands! Jake you're giving everyone ALL the information they'll ever need!

    While I can't say if my lifting was any better or worse with the cxt-1 the 9mm drop actually made them really good for rowing. My cxt-2 come in a few days so we'll see if there's a difference.

    Got my pair in over the weekend. I am super hesitant as they feel a great deal more narrow than my Savage 1's and even my Nano X. Curious if the break in will be enough or if they just quite aren't wide enough. Looking forward to more feedback from you and others.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, def not as wide as those. That’s why I’m hoping people don’t see “wider” and instantly think these will be wide wide. Keep me posted on how yours keep breaking in

      @@thatfitfriend So a week in and they definitely loosened up some but not enough. Thankfully have a buddy at the gym who wanted a pair. I reached out to TYR today as they now are showing a CXT-2 Extra Wide about the difference in width between the models. The specs read the same so wasn't sure where that width was put in.

    I have watched so many of your videos! Your reviews are awesome!
    I have been eying Tyr cxt's, but i have yet to pull the trigger on a new shoe after months and months of watching. I have bought a few different pairs, but compare everything to my Nano X, which are the perfect fit in size 11.5. What new shoe would you suggest to be the most comparable in fit and performance to the nano x?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dropset 3 is pretty dang close, imo! I’d look into those or the twos. The CXT-2s are also pretty dope and have that built out feel

    Hi there ! I’m normally a Metcon fan because I like how light it is and grip strength but it just not suitable for running and reebok nano 3 is too narrow for my feet, now I’m deciding between tyr cxt - 2 and RAD🥹 your suggestion will be highly appreciated 🙏🏻

    • @thatfitfriend

      CXT-2 wide would be my suggestion. If Reebok feels narrow, then RAD likely will, too

  • @LukeShoe

    Tried the Adidas Dropset 2, I loved the shoe but the medial support was just so aggressive it really hurt my mid foot closer to my forefoot, I switched to the Reebok Nano X3, it's definitely a lot better but I notice it still rubs a lot more near my midfoot closer to my heel. I really only lift, no cross fit or anything crazy but I dislike standard lifting shoes (loved the metcon 4s though) Any suggestions?

    • @thatfitfriend

    Best training shoes reviews on TH-cam, I am looking for a training shoe to change my metcons and so far I am between the Savage 1 and this Tyr CXT2, which ones would you recommend? I have narrow feet not extreme as I am feeling the metcons a bit snug but love to hear your opinion, so far I am feeling more the looks of the Savage 1 haha

    I had the cxt1 and I can agree after rope climbs some rubber came off. I thought it was because of me and my aggressive descent but I guess it’s common. I was housing those really textured black tops as popped to the thicker white soft? Ropes.
    I had a question, how are these on handstand push ups. I went from metcons to these and they sucked lol. The rubber heel clip has so much friction on strict handstand push ups. Unlike the metcon where I just glide up. I read they have something to make it less friction on the wall. Can you speak on that ? Beat up my metcon 9 and I like one of the tyr color way so may pick one up as soon as you respond on the heel and hspu performance. 🤙🏾

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, yeah - I broke my CXT-1s, too....twice!
      The 2s are a lot better than the prior model. My pair hasn't even shown scuffing yet from wall friction so you should be solid in them!
      I'd say send it and cop a pair.

    Appreciate the first impressions! I ordered some CXT-1s shortly before the 2s were released. The 1s felt okay, but I didn't love the look of them. And the heel to toe drop felt a bit high. The 2s just came in today, so I'll edit this comment with some first impressions once I try them on!
    Update: I've tried on the shoes and have a few impressions compared to the 1s. But I haven't had a chance to work out in them and won't be able to without violating the return policy. With that caveat, I don't think the outsole will be an issue at least on the black / gum model. The outsole feels pretty similar to the 1s. Could it be that the outsole is different on the red/white model that you have?
    The heel to toe drop does feel a little lower, but after trying on the 1s again, they didn't feel too high to me either. I can't really tell that the 2s are 4mm wider. But the 1s didn't feel too narrow for my feet. If you have wider feet, I could see this show feeling too narrow for you.
    Looks wise, I prefer the 2s by a lot. The red part that secures the laces is a lot smaller, and then the side grips are a lot less noticeable. The TYR logo on the side is more subtle too. Lastly, the tongue and ankle support are quite thick. My only concern there would be with the tongue when you do movements like squats and lunges.

      Ive been saying the same thing for over a year now.. I dont see how people complain about the heel height on the cxt-1 but not the past 2 nanos.. those both had way steeper fit, imo even if the "drop" is lower😮

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@drew123994 I think the better question here is, do you like squatting with weightlifting shoes/with some heel? If so, then it makes sense why some don’t pick up on it.
      I think when you rotate between barefoot shoes and these you pick up on it a lot more just like in the Nanos.

    • @drew123994
      @drew123994 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thatfitfriend that's a fair point. I use olympic shoes for most lifting except for vans and barefoot shoes for deadlifts. I do strongman and crossfit type work in cross trainers and prefer a flatter shoe. The CXT-1 just feels much flatter to me than the nano x3 and x4, with the x4 being a little better, but still pretty heely..

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@drew123994 I get what you’re saying, I wonder if it’s due to the midfoot and how aggressive the elevation is. Reebok’s feels shorter so it feels aggressive where TYR’s feels like a more gradual and longer midfoot.
