Just the one topic this week - but boy so many talking points!
Would LOVE to know your thoughts on Threads - have you used it yet?

Nope, I quit using anything from Meta 7 years ago, when they were still Facebook. Don't use *any* social media, except this youtube thing. 🙂

The coldfusion community and the throughtheweb subscribers are rational groups of people I guess. I think most of us wouldn't fancy using anything made by meta. Given the increasing fraction of ego-driven decisions that Elon Musk makes, using Twitter also do not seem to be something I eagerly look forward to, though I use it as part of routine.

I have a suggestion. Uploading on a Friday night or Saturday morning (in Australia) would result in better viewership in TH-cam. If done so, it is very likely that people get suggestions on a Saturday or Sunday everywhere around the world.

My two cents that nobody asked for:
If you listen to Zucc talk on interviews, it's really obvious to me that he has gone through very rigorous and thorough PR training sessions. For example, if you listen to the podcast with him and Lex Fridman, Zuck never really answers any question directly, or anything that he does say are just the things that you already know. I may be entirely wrong about this, of course, but that's how I feel.
Elon just says whatever the hell he wants and that often ends up backfiring. However, I truly believe that Zuck is dishonest (re- his leaked conversations with his friends which have been verified to be legit) and at least Musk, i think, is honest about most of what he says.

On Zuck, just look how he acquired the huge amount of land in Hawaii, through people who bought up a bunch of lots for supposedly individuals, then bunched them up and erected a huge fence around the property.
That ilk has never been honest. He's as much a grifter as B. Gates, E. Musk, E. Holmes, S. Rush, D. Trump and others. Holmes was caught and is now in jail, Trump will hopefully be locked up soon. But with that liar it will be a tough one. Rush is crushed, Gates and Zuck should be looked into.

good nuanced takes. I dont see threads shutting down but I do think both twitter and threads will get surpassed by some underdog. People are getting pretty tired of heuristic bubbles (or maybe Im wrong and controversy/emotional manipulation will always appeal)

I mean you're not wrong, in my opinion I feel like social media has been ruined. There's so much even in the real world people are divided animal competition is great yes it's just not fun anymore.. just like they said in the early parts of the episode it's become a monopoly anybody that gets in the politics and goes to Capitol Hill isn't it for the corruption along with the money. It seems like anybody that gets into the social media game does the same that's the part that gets tiring after a while it's not in anybody's best interest besides the creator of that platform

last year I thought they said it was supposed to be tiktok for tweets the algorithm isn't there yet and hearing the arguments about the type of content moderation and avoiding news topics I don't think it will be.

The 'limit' thing to prevent scrapping is quite lame actually. There are multiple techniques that can be used to detect if the website is being scrapped. Instead of just limiting they can easily implement an 'Are you human' captcha thing instead of just locking people out. In fact google does that. Even google search do not have a limit.

great debate but why use DESTROY in the title? why not overcome or anything similar? that's too clickbaitish comparted to the smart things you are talking about... just a thought.. I understand more impactful words draw more clicks but it's just frustrating to see such a good discussion under the umbrella of such a BIG word :) I know you will probably won't change your approach but at the same time, your viewer's feedback should be something you should take into consideration :) you guys are too smart for that kind of approach :) looking forward to more videos, rock on!

thank you for the feedback! honestly using a word like that in our title has been a bit of an on-going theme - we try our best not to be clickbaity! will definitely keep your suggestion in our mind.

Threads does not destroyed Twitter but Elons and his ego will do it. Threads will grow nothing much. Good discussion thanks for sharing it. ✌️

Musk is just having fun with Meta. He's been too long is business to even think there's a case to win here.

Dagogo is the man, so smart and you can tell he looks at all of these things through a non biased, nuanced lense.
The other guy is the polar opposite.
