Great video! The SPA (Skimmer Performance Adapter) although it can be used long term, it can also be a cheap solution to get you by.
You'll know the main signs your skimmer is too big or needs adjustment...
    1) Frequent surges with nearly clear skimmate.
    2) Have to push the water column high up in the riser tube to produce skimmate.
    3) No production for days on end except on the walls of the riser tube. If you feed consistently then production should be consistent as well.

Perfect video. As I was just looking about this. I have the Eshoppes S-200. What pump would u recommend to upgrade it to?

From my understanding, all of the psk pumps up to 1200 have the same footprint. Personally, I would go with the 1200 for little bit more because I will be future proofing myself if I do upgrade down the road because I could always lower the intensity of the pump to make it work.

Hmmm I am not sure of the footprint of those pumps that goes in it. Reach out to Steve, Jay or Melissa on their social media platforms and they can give you more accurate answer on that one.

You can also take a beater skimmer and drill the top of the cup....insert a plastic air line tube to a wooden air block and the top attached to aireator to make better foam....we use to do that on the old instant ocean skimmers way back then...20$ to turn any skimmer into a beast skimmer

Maybe I'm overlooking the obvious, why would you need a feed mode on a skimmer?

So the skimmer doesn’t suck up the food you just fed ,if you’re some one who doesn’t turn off the return pump, when you feed.

@@coralmonger6868 It could also be useful to someone who does turn off their return pump (with a bottom sump) if they don't have an auto overflow shut off on their skimmer in order to stop the skimmer overflowing when the sump water level rises due to the return pump being switched off 😀
