@DottyIce The song isn't about drugs. It's about how we believe everything we are told by tv / gouvernment. "Used to get high" probably symbolizes living in the 'dreamworld' tv and gouvernment create.
@daviDKrichbaum Professional ones that are made are called stomp boxes. They're really easy to make, but you can buy them in a well stocked music instrument store.

@heavenbynature You'd actually be surprised. I've known John for a while now. He used to live down the road from me in Freo, Perth... Used to skate with him and what not. They are his real nails. He doesn't use acrylics.

holyshit his nails.. watching him play is what made me grow mine out in the first place, but they just got in the way too damn often. it's so inconvenient, but they're so incredibly useful.. such an unfair decision to have to make

i wonder if the trick G string is common on some model acoustic 12 strings? I've had the same thing happen to me as John here. hmmm. I couldn't afford to keep replacing that silly G-string (lol). so I just play without.
my fiance actually doubles that string with another down octave G. it sounds pretty good

Perhaps true love was the fix that John finally got to save his soul?? When you get that...you dont need anything else.
