      This is the smartest and most logical comment; COVID really hurt so many businesses, especially the fitness industry. They simply don't have the revenue coming in that they used to, to open up full-time anymore...even as stupid as that sounds, considering their name. It's simply a business decision at the root of it all. And so many of their operations shut down completely during COVID.

    • @davidperry4013
      @davidperry4013 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They could make it a staffless operation during nighttime hours where members scan to unlock the door and get their gains. Also, be under staffless operations on Holidays well.

  • @ChillRichard
    @ChillRichard 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    But this was an issue even pre-COVID…
    I had a membership back then, and at my location they started to close it down at 9pm.
    It’s probably more about a staffing shortage and essentially cutting costs than it is about COVID…
    Cause if it was a COVID issued, there wouldn’t even be open, or people would be required to wear masks.

    Here in San Diego Ca, some are open 5am to 11p or 5a-9p.
    It sucks that you are still paying for a full membership when it isn't open 24hrs hours.
    And the part that sucks the most is that the one that I go to, as soon as it hits 9pm they start kicking you out, since 8pm they start announcing that they are about to closed, reminding everyone every 15 minutes, and if you go at 5am, pray to god that the employees don't oversleep! They are never on time.

Not sure how much it saves to have all your entire company take a whole shift off without pay worldwide and still collect same dues they are probably making a lot of money like this and would like to keep it like this as long as possible. That 8hrs times world wide employees on the clocked saved. It is great for them to charge you same and give you less it's a great business pandemic profiteering model that most companies go by these days. Heck even some 24hr restaurants still close their doors yet they are there, on the clock, getting paid to sit in dining room and tell customers they are closed. Companies are trying to save money while employing a minimum of people working. Its America, things won't change till "WE" the people demand it! We all have to boycott companies letting them have a piece of our minds about false advertisements we let em slide too much. Maybe 3rd shift workers who generally are up through the nights on their days off? or perhaps people who work 2nd shifts or day/evening shifts, who it is more convenient, as well as more beneficial for a good sleep after an intense workout, to go relax and workout at the end of their day instead of in between the chores and errands...

    Their name is a huge gimmick and was never opened 24 hrs especially on Westheimer in Houston. They are trash! They took out their $55 annual fee out my account yet they never told me they were charging me this. I didn’t even have my monthly dues automatically taken out. Greed. Then when I was sick they wanted my medical records. I liked LA fitness though but only the one in Katy on 1-10 but I left in 2016. It was fun.

    Good luck trying to get your membership cancelled. You'll probably have to go in person and submit a notarized letter to them and then end up buying out the contract at a hefty price. Even then they'll continue to bill your checking account or credit card a few more months and then play the oopsie daisy we never received your notarized cancellation letter. These gyms have been pulling these sleazy tactics for decades now and that's why I just got myself a home gym to avoid the hassle.
