I’ve been waiting on this one to drop! Thinking this one will take me across my first half marathon finish line! I just needed Yowana to tell me how good it is 😂
The Zoom Fly uses a dual layer system. The top layer where your foot sits is the real ZoomX foam, the bottom layer is either Cushlon 3.0, SR2, or ReactX. I have not seen an official post from Nike but that is why the foam feels different. Love seeing your reviews brother! Keep them up.

Yowana, can you get a pair of Adistar 3's to review? Supposedly they are similar to the nike invincible. There are hardly any reviews of this shoe on YT, so it's up to you, the hobby jogger to take things into his own hands and deliver us the review we need
Thanks, really great review and lots of interesting thoughts on training as always. At first you just feel the plate in the forefoot and over time it might become a big problem for the foot and the impact on it, especially for a bigger guy, what do you think?
That looks very cool. I gon ask Santa for these. I want to run when I get bigger and hope to compete when me get to middle school on cross country team.
Nike needs to give use the exact zoom x they put in the race shoe. If they don’t want to give us the full race foam in the trainers then give us a dual foam but put the alpha and vapor foams in there. It’s like they want to compete but want to cheap us out on performance.
Price point design decision. All mfgs do this to some extent but the way shoe manufacturers try to hide it by calling different foams the same thing is annoying AF. Nike isn't the only one who does this. NB is pretty bad regarding this practice too with their Fresh Foam X and Fuel Cell foams.
@ I agree. I think NB gets away with it because their formula regardless of foam is comfort and they excel at that. Nike seems to just want to make nice looking shoes, which they excel at doing just that.
@@CorGP Is that why they get away? Or is it just that your brands of preference can get away with anything? I'm asking because I've been running for 14 years and have yet to see a brand releasing their "foam formula" clearly to runners.
I’m a bigger runner at 6’ 1 “ and 200 lbs and the Boston 12 is a great balance of slightly firmer cushioning and propulsion ; one of those shoes that I recommend trying if you are a little heavier than the average distance runner. I have not tried ZF6 but sounds like a softer less stable shoe from reviews. I’ve been super impressed with durability and traction of Boston 12 and I am on my 2nd pair .
@ I am a Nike (love Alphafly, Invincible and Vaporfly) fan but Iam enjoying Boston 12 a lot as well. I asked It to make sure I had better get a second pair of Boston instead of trying ZF6. Thanks mate!!
Sounds like the OG and any of the zoom flys I've tried..the foams have been ok,but the plate has always been in the wrong place and within a few miles they feel like you're running directly on the plate hitting the pavement..there's only a few shoes that can take the long runs in comfort and leave your feet feeling good..😊
After the first run I much prefer the Mach x2. More/better cushion, smoother ride and package feels more cohesive. I need to put more miles on the zoom fly though
@@samueldavid2114 ran in it again in a comparison test and did not love it still. Much prefer the Mach x2. Here's that video Nike Zoom Fly 6 vs Asics Magic Speed 4 th-cam.com/video/t6LITtvEyYY/w-d-xo.html

This shoe is so good I've ran at all paces from 800m efforts to recovery paces and it is so soft but somehow gives you a lot of pop back. I never notice the weight, stability suprisingly isn't an issue because the foam is so soft and the upper is elite. The only issue I've had is that the waffle outsole can pick up some dirt and the rocker is very subtle. The forefoot foam seems stiffer than the midfoot which gives it a nice transition Also weird note but the ZoomX foam is the top layer poorly labelled from Nike.
@@supwell yh id see why u'd think its too soft tho sometimes i think that but for me sometimes i take a look at my watch and somehow i'm still trodding along pretty well love your reviews keep it up
For everyday runs up to 4 miles I would go for the invincible or Vomero over this. The benefit of the plate for me starts to come for longer runs and speed - so for everyday miles I'd go for one of the more comfortable shoes
Dang sorry to hear that. I have about 30 miles on mine and it's in okay shape. If you send an email/file a ticket with Nike customer support they may be able to get you a replacement or store credit. Worth a shot even if you didn't buy direct through them
this is a dual foam set up like the vomero except with a carbon plate, so i would expect to feel firmer, mine comes in the mail tomorrow, hopefully i like it because i find the vomero too soft and flexible.

Oh man so sorry to hear the Zoom Fly 6 is another mid Nike shoe... Got mine recently but haven't run in them yet. Appreciate the reliable honesty as always though. Another inspirational long run in the books! 🙏 Also, I've found a good way to break up consistently "sub-par" feeling runs (especially if the shoes we're running in are a factor) is to pull out a tried and tested consistent favourite and run miles in that instead. Maybe grabbing one of your most enjoyable long run shoes of the year (MCG ftw 👊) for the next long run will be just what you need to break up that cycle. Thanks for the review!
I've been waiting for this one given the hype surrounding the release of this shoe. Based on everything I've seen it seems like a shoe that people who run mostly in Nike will think is great, and most other people will think is ok to solid but not touching other shoes available in that category/price point. Nike shoes seem to universally have this specific feel. They run thinner in the forefoot than their specs suggest, especially toward the toe. And the toe box tends to feel constrained vertically especially at the front. I think Nike is kind of in a no-win situation in a way. There are a lot of people who have been running in Nike shoes for years if not decades, and Nike probably doesn't want to change the fit and feel so much as to alienate them. Chris Stapanek (Sagasu Running YT channel) is exemplary of this type of person.
@@supwellAlthough saying that I have been seriously thinking about getting the Mach X 2 now ever since you did the 3 reviews of it but I’m still hesitant to get it because of the problems with the heel collar which might or might not be a problem.

Bought these cause I got a discount and feel like I may have made a mistake as I currently run slower, should I return them or wait till I get quicker? They didnt seem to be that bad when i took them out for a run. Quite a beginner only done 8 runs so any advice would be helpful
If they worked well for you and you enjoyed them, then definitely keep them! If you're doing runs 20 minutes to an hour and like how they feel, they should work just fine!
@ I did enjoy it but I’m wondering if I should be running in them everyday with that carbon plate or if I should invest in a pair of 1080v14s, might keep on the lookout if people advise against wearing them everyday
I think for a lot of us it's the Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, Lebron James, etc nostalgia of the brand. And within running the Steve prefontaine/bill bowerman heritage. But all of that is so far removed from the current performance running products in 2024 😕
Why did you stop including the ounces (not just grams) when you weigh shoes? Now every time I have to go online and find a grams to oz converter just to figure out how much they weigh. Love the channel but wtf
Not at all - the weight is perfect and well distributed. Comfortable upper and foam doesn't feel heavy. I haven't tried previous versions but weight is not an issue here
Nike just needs to release the Tempo Next% 2, they have gone all in on the AF V3, so why release this shoe which is all VF DNA? I know we are in the VF release year, but if they want to get people excited about the VF V4 coming....this isn't it. We, the people, want air pod trainers without a harsh rigid plate. Hell....just do another massive Tempo Next% V1 production run! I'd buy my 4th and 5th pairs of those in a heart beat! Especially since for people with the right foot strike the Tempo Next% has CRAZY longevity. I have pushing 1200km on one pair (which are treadmill only now) and 850km on a pair that are still deep in it's "workout" era, and a 3rd pair around 250km that I use sparingly when I don't want to throw on the old AF V2s.
@@supwellI assume your comparisons to the Vaporfly were to the 3? I agree completely. That shoe bottoms out for me in the forefoot and the plate stiffness goes away by 50 miles and really loses its pop after that. The VF2 is incredible just way smoother and more bounce, better in every way.

For me (29 yo Male 190lbs 5' 11") last marathon (training and race) was Vomero 17 sub 4:00 (finally getting into the shoe culture and more serious about all the effort). Only done 2 small 3 mile runs (8 to 9 min pace as I'm recovering from shin splint issues) in the ZF 6 EK colorway. To me, it feels like a plated Vomero 17 (especially with the dual foam layers).
Congrats on the sub 4 💪🏽 and sorry to hear about the injury. A plated Vomero sounds awesome - I love that shoe. Hopefully I'll get those same vibes as I put more miles in this shoe

Love the honest reviews. Others are raving about these but most want to keep getting sent free shoes so of course it impacts on what they say, even if they say it doesn’t.
Hey Yowana, big fan of the format of your videos. There's a few misses in this one though. A) Having experienced more shoes doesn't make for a more 'correct' opinion. Our biomechanics vary a lot person to person. Where we strike, how we pronate through the foot, how we bend our knees, our flexibilities (and inflexibilities), paces, and pure preferences. It can give a more varied and perspective-rich view - but only for those that share your impressions of those shoes. For anyone in any other ballpark, that opinion doesn't apply, regardless of how many shoes you've tested. I strike differently to you and hate many of the shoes you love. I also love many of the shoes you hate. This to say that generalized "X brand just sucks" statements ends up misleading people away from brands that might be *their* perfect fit. This comes from someone who's been through several iterations of largely every brand of shoes too. This is the basis for Doctors of Running and Roat Trail Run having multiple reviewers with different running profiles review each shoe. Nike for me is the primetime brand I get the least injuries from and run fastest in. B) I think you could benefit in the delivery of your points by assuming most of your viewers won't make it to the end of the video. The chronological format is nice for story telling, but I can point out numerous comments in here that really allude to being made by the time you were slashing these shoes' reputation in half and perhaps didn't watch further than that. Maybe bring in an overall post-several-runs opinion first, then the chronological storytelling. Cheers, thanks for all the content and refreshing format.
Exactly. I have the same experience when it comes to shoes I like vs the ones he likes. So when I actually need a shoe review for myself, I go elsewhere.
man.., if those shoes were that whack.., I wouldn't have blamed you for circling back to the house and doing a shoe change after a few miles. real talk.
Nike has been very behind now in their shoe tech and performance(outside of their 2 racers) even their hoop shoes are becoming very stale with a higher price. Maybe the new CEO will get them back to their innovative roots.
In all the trainng plans i know the biggest lacki is the lack of training the mind. Our bodies never suprpass our brain and mind, our body just follows the lead like a sheep gets to a place, where the well trainied dog takes it. Training that dog needs to come first, needs to be in the center of our training......
I thought it was going to be a good shoe, and this why I don’t buy Nike running shoes. All looks but no substance. Nike has great running clothes but I guess not good enough regular shoes.

I think for a lot of us it's the Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, Lebron James, etc nostalgia of the brand. And within running the Steve prefontaine/bill bowerman heritage. But all of that is so far removed from the current performance running products in 2024 😕
That’s a good way to measure growth right there
Will look better with the green of the alphafly rather than white color
37:00 describes erverything dude, I´m laughing my ass off
You should advertise that the max miles on the shoes being sold on your app is like 25 or something, gently used is vague
Why did you stop including the ounces (not just grams) when you weigh shoes? Now every time I have to go online and find a grams to oz converter just to figure out how much they weigh. Love the channel but wtf
Devin booker signature move😂 24:12
Is this shoe “bottom” heavy like the ZF3?
Not at all - the weight is perfect and well distributed. Comfortable upper and foam doesn't feel heavy. I haven't tried previous versions but weight is not an issue here
Out here in the Red Clay 1's
i cant do my day job listenibg to you... 😂😂😂 "go and sleep on that egyptian cotton, im sleeping that steel wool" 😂😂😂
37:13 This is breaking my heart - was hoping these would rival the mach x2.. I guess I’m a Hoka boy these days
You try the vapor fly 2. Interested to see your take on it
I love the Vaporfly 2. That was my second ever shoe shoe
@@tnmha2345yeah 100% agreed - and was referencing the 3 here. I revisited it a few weeks ago and experienced everything you're talking about m.th-cam.com/video/BIPF82cQ-R4/w-d-xo.html
I love your channel, but cannot navigate the SupWell sit at all to get to forums etc. Not sure where I download the "app"?
Not on me android playstore.
Also, like fellow Vegan athlete Durianrider says, "haters make you famous."
He's cycle challenged Everesting (I have twice), 24 hour ride, won monthly Strava challenges per mileage, ran a 2:48 marathon on minimal training running wis, etc.
hey dude here is the signup link! supwell.circle.so/checkout/marketplace-and-forum once you sign up there and create an account, you can download the mobile app and login. the app is hosted on a third-party platform called "Circle" - that's the name of the app you'll see in the app store. just make sure you create an account using the link i posted here first. lmk if any issues signing up!
I'm about 24 min into the video, and not sure if you mention it later on or if others have mentioned it, but there's a carrier foam in the Zoom Fly 6 not just straight Zoom X foam
@@supwell Thank you! I’ve got 5 marathons under my belt! Looking to push past 3:45 and 3:30! First time trying to take the effort more than just casual!
Happy spouse happy house 💯
I have been considering this one or Hoka Mach x2 now I am leaning more to the Mach x2
Heel collar is awfull, had te return mine

Love the honest reviews. Others are raving about these but most want to keep getting sent free shoes so of course it impacts on what they say, even if they say it doesn’t.
So when they say a shoe by your favorite brand is good, they’re telling the truth? Or they’re lying all the time? I’m confused.
@ don’t think they lie, just give a positive spin
The bottom foam is cushlon and zoom x is on top
30:12 was a jump scare for me. I had no idea what was happening 😂
36:57 BROOOO 😂
man.., if those shoes were that whack.., I wouldn't have blamed you for circling back to the house and doing a shoe change after a few miles. real talk.
I have a big tattoo down my ribs that says “ENDURE” lol I got this before getting into distance running… go figya
Nike has been very behind now in their shoe tech and performance(outside of their 2 racers) even their hoop shoes are becoming very stale with a higher price. Maybe the new CEO will get them back to their innovative roots.
Agreed! Hoping we see some cool stuff from them next year 🤞🏽
Actual review starts 1:06:00. Perhaps extracting the actual review part into its own video could be beneficial.
I personally believe the Nike Logo is too big and not well placed. Even worse probably looking down on your own feet.
Nah man. The red represents the red clay in Nc 😂
