    Thanks for the video, My daughter jumped in the pool with an iPhone and immediately got it out of the water as the screen started blinking out. I used a wet vac and sucked the moisture from the ports. Then I followed your directions and successfully removed a slightly wet mobo, cleaned it in an alcohol bath, and reinstalled the board and it worked!

    Hello great video! Few quick questions 1) I bent my 6s+ case (sprint) and am looking for a donor 6s+ and found a few but all are either att or Verizon and blacklisted. Question is, I should be able to use them as long as I replace them with my sprint logic board and touch id correct? And 2) the 6s+ procedure should be similar to this correct?
    I would really appreciate a reply! Thanks!

      @SmartEasyDIYer  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +david lee Yes all models work to swap parts over. So if you swap the logic Board and Touch ID you should be good to go maybe your Battery too if it's fresher than the parts phone you get. I haven't done the 6s+ yet but it should be quite similar layout.

      Yeah I used the same one for the demonstration. If you put in a different one try to get one with a Touch ID home button too.

    I bent the back housing of my iphone 6 so now im looking to get a new housing but the housings all bring locked motherboards if i switch out the locked mother boards with the ones on my old phone (not locked)would it work? Also if by any chance i fail to do something correctly the first time when i try do i risk loosing for example pictures on my old motherboard? Also i read something about having to switch the home button too but if i dont will the home button just not work at all or only touch id?

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Yes it should work to swap your board into a different housing. Yes you will need to swap your Touch id home button too. You shouldn’t lose your pics with swapping over but you should back them up just in case you do have something go wrong. It’s a good idea to do that occasionally anyways.

    Hey I’m late to this vid but I noticed that when you removed the screen you didn’t disconnect the battery, I suggest that you disconnect it before removing the screen so you don’t risk shorting the logic board. Its rare but it happens, no hate 🍻

    Hi,
    I just order a new motherboard for my iPhone 6S. Looking to replace the current. What I ordered said it is without the IC component. So I tried asking the seller, and they refuse to answer.
    So I was hoping maybe you can help explain that for me.
    He said that I will need to do soldering too.
    But these details are very vague. I’m trying to do this on my own, but people give very vague details online.

    Wow you are DIY genius! Q. I have touch sensor issue I think sometimes it works and sometimes it won't but the physcial buttons like home button and power etc working all fine. Do you think I need to replace the whole Logic Board Motherboard? or do you know it needs the chip replaced? (chip maybe is in the board?) thanks,

    • @auroraacupuncture
      @auroraacupuncture 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      sometimes if I press the bottom near the home button hard with a squeeze with some pressure it seems to work so but over time it's getting worse. the phone deletes app itself sometimes or goes into email and moves it around etc.. lol

      +eismaildds1 It looks like you're referring to that little cable with two screw holes in it. I'm not exactly sure what it's called but I would suspect its a grounding cable or a bonding cable. If nothing else maybe you can find someone on eBay that is parting out their phone.

    Hey man, I'm fairly sure I cooked my logicboard as I was working on my iPhone earlier, now I'm wondering what I can do next, I found out it was the logicboard that seemed to spark a little so I've been looking at purchasing a new Logicboard.
    But my question is, if I put a new logicboard in from Ebay for example, what do I lose from the phone? Does it get rid of all my old data like photos/apps/documents etc?
    And also, I found a logicboard for 6s on Ebay for $8AUD but it says it does NOT include memory chips or IC's, no memory. So am I able to transfer that stuff over from my old logicboard to this new one?
    Thank you so much mate, appreciate it

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Caamdaddy Yes all your data, apps etc. are stored on your logic board. No the ones that are just a bare board with no chips are not usable without soldering all the chips over from your other board. That's a lot of work. I've never personally done it so I don't know how effective it is. I have a link in the video description below the video where I would look for a good used board maybe from someone that's parting out a phone or maybe you can buy a broken phone with a good board cheap. Just make sure that it will work with the carrier that you use and that it is the memory size that you want and make sure that the serial number is clean to activate. All the information is stored on the board. Ideally you also need the original touch ID that came with that new board if you want touch ID to work properly.

    Excuse me I really need help I recently cracked my iPhone 6s Plus near the camera and the screen went blank for a day but now the phone won't cut on at all I have went to a few shops like you break it we fix it and they keep telling me its nothing they can do I didn't back up my phone so all I want is for the phone to cut on just for a little while to be able to back up all the priceless photos that I have and I deleted my last backup to so I don't have nothing on iCloud. I just don't understand how all the shops I went keep telling that my phone motherboard is dead buy a new one but not one shop opened my phone once to see if there were internal problems. So I was wondering do you fix phones I'll pay you just to get my on to back it up. And another question is if my mother board in my phone really is broke are all my photos gone also 😞😞 apple even turned me they didn't even take the phone out my hand the employee there didn't really even look at it he just said aw that won't fit In our machine buy a new phone 😞😞

    • @SmartEasyDIYer

      +Katina Robinson It sounds to me like it may just need a new screen. Did you drop it really hard? I would take it apart and just check the connections for the screen first and see if your connections just got loose from when it got dropped. If they aren't loose I'm hopeful that it just needs a new screen.

      I’m not sure. Sometimes it can happen from too many drops. For me on my 6+ the only thing that happened was the connector for the LCD screen where it connects to the board just gave out. It had a connection issue and there was nothing I could do that helped. It just randomly started one day but I had it for like three years.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yeah usually if we replace the board it will get rid of iCloud lock and blacklisted if you can find a board that is good. A lot of boards you have to be careful of that they are clean. If you’re board is only blacklisted it may be worth trying to research and see if some company can fix that without replacing the board.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I understand it every board is paired From the factory with their own Touch ID button so they will only work in a pair like if you change to a different board you have to change to the Touch ID button it came with originally too for Touch ID to work.

    Excellent video instruction, nice editing and superb narration with fast moving instructions, as well a additional useful information. The camera work and close ups are easily viewed with good lighting and clear focus. If only every instructional video could be so crisp and clean. it still took me 3+ hours to do what you did in 8 minutes though. and the antenna path was difficult for me because I was looking for a manufactured channel to tuck the wire into and it actually doesn't have one, Good that you cautioned about the sim tray.

    damn bro these logic motherboard's are expensive. what i had in plan was that if any of my friends ever break there iphone 6s or don't want it anymore i would ask them for their mother board and replace with mine that is icloud locked. ask if they can bypass the password for me since they know the password then log out of their icloud. but that's going to be a long time. or i guess i gotta buy a new phone.......
