Yeah, I feel like there's still quite a bit of stuff that's actually covered in some supplements that are still quite underutilized. Khand being one for sure. I don't feel we need additional profiles for Eorl themed army though. I'd be very interested in some War of the Ring era stuff though that have been missed! I'd like to see some Black Numenorean characters beyond just Mouth of Sauron, I'd like Black Numenorean Spearman too! Fiefdoms are missing a few key characters, but the big one really is Hirluin, and along with him, the Riders of Pinnath Gelin. The big piece of Gondor that we are missing though, are some proper Legendary Legions! Gondor at War gave almost every faction featured in it an amazing Legendary Legion (minus Easterlings and Corsairs), but what did Gondor get? Nothing particularly awesome, unfortunately. Men of the West just does not cut it, those special rules are tragically awful. Rohan has some epic ones from War in Rohan, and then they get Riders of Theoden from Gondor at War. I think getting a Legendary Legion featuring Boromir and Faramir would be amazing, or one featuring Gandalf leading the defense of Minas Tirith, Imrahil and other Gondorian lords sallying forth from the city to aid Eomer (which would restrict Eomer and Rohirrim taken in that list to be on foot naturally), Aragorn's arrival to the Pelennor with a properly sorted list (adding Warriors of Minas Tirith, Knights, and Clansmen to the Grey Company?), possibly another Gondor Legendary Legion themed around Aragorn being the new King? Sadly, I doubt any of this will happen anytime soon. Gondor at War was their chance to spice up Gondor some. They added some amazing profiles for Minas Tirith, and I love those heroes. Just no really impressive Legendary Legions
Men of Carn Dum and expanding Arnor would probably be my favorite of the ideas. The rise of the Witch-King is one of the more interesting bits of lore to me and I'd like to see it given more attention. Last Alliance or any Dwarf support would also be fine.
I hope they take inspiration from LOTRO and add more units. Like Angmarim cultists, evil dwarves, undead lords, etc. Snow trolls and Mountain giants would be nice too
So much could be done with Arnor. Sub-factions for Arthedain and Cardolan with a specific troop type and new heroes (including a heavy hitter... something the army seriously lacks). A Legendary Legion that teams Arnor with the High-elves riding down the witch-king after the Battle of Fornost. Perhaps a new Ranger hero. I want to see this so badly!
I think there also could be a "war of the Dwarfs and Orcs" book. There are a couple Dwarfs that are still missing( Fundin, Frerin and Nain, who all were slain in the final battle at Moria) also an new unit for Army of Thror like an Gate Guard. They could also add some Kazad-dum and Moria stuff with it
If it is the Last Alliance, outside of the obvious that is Gil-galad, Elendil and Anarion, I’d love to see a release of Oropher and Amdir. They could even call it “Lords of the Woodland Realms.” They don’t even need to create new warrior models, Amdir will lead Galadhrim elves, Oropher will lead Mirkwood elves, and they can even tweak Thranduil’s profile to make him “Prince of the Woodland Realm”. I’d like to see a combination of book scenarios and movie scenarios, like how we saw with the scenarios for the Black Gate.
I’m pretty sure you do actually see a glimpse of numanorean cavalry in the film. In the scene where isildur chases the ring into the river and dies from orc arrows. The orcs are ambushing a bunch of numanorean cavalry.
Please for the love of Tolkien, no rings of power with Amazon! I want beornings, erebor during lotr would be good, fall of arnor, mirkwood in lotr time, perhaps the pirates who aragorn take the ships from, and you are I think correct about last alliance.
Erebor during LotR and Mirkwood during LotR were somewhat addressed in the Defense of the North supplement. That's probably all we're going to get. If you want to play War of the Ring-era Erebor, you just run Erebor Reclaimed with Old King Dain.
I think you're right about the last alliance being the most likely to be introduced, but a "War in Arnor" could lead to a new range of models, not only for Arnor united but also new models and characters from the three successors kingdoms of Cardolan, Rhudaur and Arthedain. Awesome content!!
Im here for this. Arnor is a veritable treasure trove of content options. Arthedain AND Cardolan factions! I'd love to see a LL legion teaming Arthedainians with High-elves like when Earnur and glorfindel chased the witch-king after the battle of foremost. Plus, they could add a Dunedain Ranger Chieftain hero to the Arnor list for more options. Also some heavy hitters. Players need better options than Arvedui! Plus Rhudaurians, werewolves.... there's so much!
Look I'm happy theres been AN announcement dont get me wrong, but Jesus, how can they end the first announcement in months with just "there is a supplement." fucken tell us ANYTHING
Re a few comments on the audio, potentially a settings issue with the rode mic, not sure of model but sometimes they default to mono instead of stereo when recording
My heart wants a Shadow & Flame supplement. For the same reason, I want some additions to make dwarfs stronger. But I would love to build an Arnor army if options were expanded. Also, a numenorian with more options would be exciting.
Silmarillion would have to be its own completely segregated experience. The First Age is simply on a scale immensely far beyond what the game is currently able to simulate. Gil-Galad is one of the strongest heroes in the game, and he wasn't anything special by the standards of the First Age.
@@CantusTropus oh I’m aware! It would still be cool none the less. It would really have to be a seperate game as opposed to an expansion to what we currently have.
It should be Last Alliance. Priority no. 1: Gil-Galad plastic kit (ftd. & mtd.) Priority no. 2: Anarion Priority no. 3: rivendell kingsguard and an elite warrior (2 wounds, Fight 5) for numenor
As much as Numenor needs some serious love, I'm a sucker for all things Northern Kingdom. I'd love to see sub-factions of Arnor arrive in the form of Arthedain and Cardolan lists, with heroes and troop types specific to both. More chiefs and kings Arnor could provide heavier hitters to the Northern faction. In addition, Ranger heroes would be a nice option to have. An elite warrior and a cavalry option would be obvious. Expanded alliance options with the likes of the High-elves would be prudent. A legendary legion that unites the Arthedanians led by Earnur with a host of High-elves lead by glorfindel when they chased off the witch-king at the Battle of Fornost would make perfect sense. For Angmar, the men of Rhudaur are an obvious addition, along with a hero or two to lead them. Were-wolves were also present in that area and could be added to the Angmarian bestiary.
I hope you’re right and we do see the Last Alliance get some attention. I would like to see the high elves and Numenoreans available in separate but complete sets with archers, swordsmen, and spearmen like the Galadhrim elves are. Fielding high elves or Numenoreans is currently more expensive than it ought to be because you’ve got to get metal or resin packs to give elves spears or Numenoreans bows or spears.
Quite agree with your guess. I totally would love a *Last Alliance* supplement that developes Numenor (hopefully as they did with Dunland or Easterlings) and some nice character for Barad Dur and tweek to Sauron to make that list more competitive ( Sauron is barely seen in torunaments) 2/ Arnor and Angmar would be super cool as well. 3/ Khazad Dum needs something as well, but Moria is very developed... Thats my guess and my order in priority. We will see! Cheers from Spain
It looks like it will be the last alliance, there is news that they already had models of Gil Galad's royal guard made when the mounted Elrond miniature came out Let's hope for a new elendil, isildur and the long-awaited Aenarion along with one or two new models, the new mini from gil galad and I would like a decent sauron miniature... the one we have is already about 20 years old or so Greetings also from Spain!!
I am guessing something in Last Alliance era as they made new sculpts of Elrond and Glorfindell and stated a few times that the banner bearer was Gil Galads. So it just has to follow that line otherwise those loose sculpts did not make any sense. So maybe a last alliance battlehost with new sculpts of Elendil and Gil Galad en their warriors !!
I think Last Alliance would be the correct choice for Games Workshop and for the community. If Thorin's Journey doesn't happen for the next release I hope it happens in the future
If there were a last alliance legendary legion they probably wouldn't include dwarves, but I bet they give the new legion historic allies with Khazad-dûm to allow people to run Tolkien original idea of "all creatures were present"
as much as i love khazad dum and want the supplement on that, i agree that the last alliance is most likely and gilgalad on horse would be an absolute hit
Top of my list to see would be Last Alliance and fall of Arnor supplement. Most likely we will see either of those two, or a tie in to War of the Rohirrim. Rings of power stuff may come, but not until later down the line, and it might depend how successful later seasons of the show are. If you look at recent releases and made to orders, all three of those options make sense (Rohan, armored elves, and some old orc/angmar models). I just hope whatever they do, they devote some time to making the legions and new profiles good, and if they are mainly going off the movies, buff the legions so that they make up for that (no horses in last alliance legion for example). I also hope they introduce buffs to combat some glaring weaknesses for big heros, so the legion actually plays like in the lore (Gil galads magic weakness). For the arnor stuff, I hope they don’t have too narrow a focus, and include some diversity in legions, like one that includes Rivendell for defeating the witch king at the end of the war. Also, I think they will need to introduce a fair amount of profiles for a last alliance book, otherwise it may be difficult to come up with unique legions for that supplement beyond just the last battle from the movie. Hopefully they delve at least a bit into the book lore, I just don’t think there will be enough content otherwise.
Numenorian knights would be a nice addition to their list, maybe some pikemen too since Numenor has no native spear support currently. I just hope we get more models like Gil-galad who have a horse option but dont have a on horse model. Also I'd love to see more of the common picked hero and elite troop options come to plastic since I feel that keeps a lot of people out of the game like with Heresy.
Fingers crossed that it's either the southern realms like Harad, Fiefdoms, etc OR Northern...with a heavy emphasis on Angmar, Arnor, Rivendell, all that.
I would also check out Nerd of the Rings interview with Rob Alderman - the Middle-earth Brand Manager at Games Workshop. He recognizes that people really want The Last Alliance, states that they would like to revisit Moria, and he name drops the Rings of Power.
Last Alliance would be my first choice too, I might be in the minority but i liked Rings of Power so i would not be sad with that. Or if they wanted to go Niche - some of armies the Silmarillion would be cool, Morgoth similar to Smaug
They haven't released a new plastic army sprue for SBG since the ones that they produced for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Warriors of Dale, Mirkwood Palace Guard, Mirkwood Rangers, Hunter Orcs and Hunter Orcs of Fell Wargs). There were zero plastic troops released with the Battle of the Five Armies, as GW seems to have really given up on the game by that time. That still makes building a Dale, Laketown or Gundabad army among the most expensive. The current Last Alliance plastics are so out of date, it's criminal that they haven't been re-done and the army added to with new troop types and models. Maybe in the vein of the plastic Elrond kit, how about an Isildur and Elendil box or a Numenorean Command box with a Captain, Standard Bearer, and Musician? Crazy dream probably! One thing that no one has mentioned is that Isildur had 4 sons, 3 of which were adults that died with him at the Battle of the Gladden Fields: Elendur, Aratan, and Ciryon. Profiles and models for all three of them could be created also. Since the focus seems to be on making models for heroes, that might be something they would do.
I think they might merge Numenor and Arnor into a new army/ legendary legion called 'The realms in Exile''. During the time of Elendil, Numenor was sunk beneath the sea and he escaped with his sons and other numenoreans who where faithful to the Valar. Elendil founded both kingdoms and was the leader of Arnor. His sons, Isildur & Anarion, ruled Gondor together. They could add named characters like Anarion, cavalry troops, the predecessors of the dunedain & rangers of the north and some elite troop like the predecessors of the guards of the fountain court to the troops of this combined army, or spread them between the army lists of Numenor and Arnor. Rivendell as a faction is already really fleshed out, especially considering all their great allying options, so i dont think they will pay much attention to them.
I think it will be a Helms Deep or Black Gate expansion, keeping the theme of big battles (Pelennor and Osgiliath so far). Black Gate allows them to introduce a new plastic Elessar, Troll Chieftain, Mouth of Sauron, etc. Helms Deep allows them to introduce a new Haldir, new plastic Uruk-hai leader, plastic crossbow uruks maybe. Might also be why they are doing a Rohan made-to-order next.
Thanks for the comment, Helm's Deep was pretty covered in the War in Rohan supplement where we got the defenders of Helm's Deep and the Assault on Helms Deep Legendary legions so I would be surprised if they revisited that before they made the full lap around Middle Earth
Jay mentioned about hill trolls at nova 2022, someone also came up to one of the LVO players and said something about it being arnor angmar. Just a thought! Keep up with the great videos!
I would LOVE a buff to my personal favourite, closest to my heart by a long shot (followed by isengard) *Khazaddum* . They need it desperatly. Battle of the Last alliance would also be my guess.
The last alliance would have so much potential if they added in the actual lore. Like the dwarfs present there and also Thranduil was alive at the time (not sure he participated), as well as the more expanded troops on the evil side which included far more than just orcs. That would be awesome.
Nice overview. I saw in another video someone from Games Workshop mention Khazard-Dum and The Last Alliance as possible places to go next (search TH-cam for "Rob Alderman, Middle-earth Brand Manager" and skip to 21min 45sec). Khazard-Dum lack the ability to do a spike of damage in one trun often needed to kill an enemy hero/monster, as they have no knockdown or magic, and other few tricks of that sort. So I would like them to have a heroes who could do a bit of that. Maybe Dwarfs who are ranger of the north style independent heroes, but with Dwarf stats and heroic strike, and maybe a special rule to give them big stuff killing potential in the right situation.
I do hope that in the next supplement is the full book version of The Last Alliance where it was The Faithful Númenórean, The Elves of Rivendell, The Dwarves of Khazad-Dûm, The Elves of Lothlorien, and The Elves of Woodland Realm that could be their Legendary Legend with them releasing a Elven king for Lothlorien, and Thranduil’s father, and finally gives us Anárion as now models for the good peoples the Legendary Legion list of units could be Elendil with his shield upgrade, Isildur with his shield upgrade, Arárion with his shield upgrade, and Captain of Númenor with their shield and spear upgrades for Númenórean with their upgrades heroes, and a warrior of Númenor with all their upgrades available, Gil-Galad with his shield upgrade, Elrond with his heavy armor upgrade, and Captain of Rivendell all but their horse upgrades for Rivendell heroes, and warriors of Rivendell with all their upgrades, Durin, Dwarf Captain with all their upgrades, The Kings Champion for Khazad-Dûm, and shieldbearer, for Khazad-Dûm heroes and dwarf warriors with all their upgrades, Khazad Guard, Iron Guard, and Dwarf Ballista with all their upgrades, The Elven King with with his heavy armor upgrade, and Wood Elf Captain with all their upgrades for Lothlorien heroes wood Elf warriors with all their upgrades, Thranduil’s Father with shield, Thranduil with additional Elven made blade and heavy armor upgrades, Palace Guard Captain with their shield upgrade, and Mirkwood Captain for Woodland Realm Heroes Palace Guard, Mirkwood Elf with all their upgrades for all the options with some cool special rules that I can’t think of but you must take Gil-Galad, Elendil, Isildur, Elrond and Gil-Galad must be the army leader
Gondor LLs kinda lacking would love a boromir/faramir defenders of osgiliath legion. That or some second age love with a focus on arnor or the kinstrife
Nice video, but check your audio! In this video your mic audio is only coming through left channel - right channel only contains your sound effects + music mix. Mistakes like this always happen at some point, but your setup is improving every video so keep it up!
Seriously thank you so much for the comment. I was listening back to this on a single speaker so totally didn't realise there was a problem. I am completely unsure of the source of the problem but I will fix it for the next video!
I'd love a supplement focused on the older dwarf sculpt, they were always one of my favourite ranges and I'd love a reason to actually get into them. I have tried theorising a ranger based list themed around Gimli becoming Lord of the Glittering Caves in some kind of alliance with unmounted Rohan, and I think that would make for a potentially interesting LL. It also still annoys me there's no dwarf ranger captain so that'd be neat. Still, I'm guessing The Last Alliance is most likely. And boy if that somehow includes new plastic elves I finally have a reason to get that gorgeous new Glorfindel so I'd be super down for that. I'd also like to see more Battlehosts. We'd need a lot more plastics for that to happen, but it'd be super cool to have even more easy ways to start a collection.
Arnor supplement I'd love the most but I will welcome Last Alliance expansion with open arms as well! And regarding Gondor of 2nd age cav - we had some glimpse of it when Isildur was ambushed on Gladden Fields!
I think you're on the money with the number 1 and 2. Last Alliance is definatly the most likely seeing the prior release of a new Elrond and banner bearer. I personally prefer an Arnor supplement though. I'd love to see rugged Arnor veterans, cavalry, kings guard, new heroes and actual Arnor rangers that are not just Rangers of Gondor with a different colour sceme. Also a sub faction of men of Carn Dum for Angmar would be awesome!
GW could make Ruins of Arnor massive with Dwarves and Elves (Lindon and Rivendell) getting rules. While Gondor could have a new character (Earnur) and new Warriors of Minas Tirth sculpts
I hope one of the 4 highest ranking you showed :) War in the south have been mentioned in the comments and have tons of potential. War in the east have even more potential like blue wizard, more Varigas of Khan, other dwarf factions(these was more evil if my Middle earth is correct). If it will be last alliance book who would be awesome! There it is interesting to see they bring the Khazad/Moria Dwarfs with it. They had some force with the elves and men
Maaan, I'm not nearly good enough to force my Khazad dum to be competitive. That being said, I bet that faction could be included in a couple of the likely suppliments (last allianceand arnor). Arnor is already a ally with kd in sbg, and I'm sure the timelines are close enough to work in something for balin's expedition. Also, last alliance would be easy to make up whatever legendary legion as long as the faction was doing something around that time. Leaves a lot of opportunites for GW to be creative.
I think Angmar should focus more on undead troops and hero/lord options, with some evil men from Carn Dum and Rhudaur added in for more elite options. If they took inspiration from the wider media for LOTR and added in evil dwarves (LOTRO), angmarim cultists (LOTRO) and a dark numenorean character (War in the North) that would be awesome as well.
After the amount of time it's been between releases, I really think we are getting a new edition. If not, I'm gonna guess Arnor vs Angmar, mounted rangers, elite Arnor troop and some mid range captain. Warewolves, something spirity that boosts orcs and a MTO for missing Angmar stuff.
Arnor seriously needs a heavy-hitting hero or two. Maybe king Earnur who led the Arthedanians at the Battle of Fornost. A ranger hero would be nice for Arnor as well. Werewolves for Angmar would be killer!
Thanks for the comment. I don't think there will be a new edition. Games Workshop only recently created the updated rule book in the Battle of Osgiliath. I am not sure what there would be to change in a new edition. The gameplay is in a really good spot.
I think the Last Alliance is such a good shout that it's idiotic for GW to have not released it sooner. I have argued for a long time about this being a perfect setting for an expansion. And whilst you said a Rings of Power based setting being unlikely, this is the Rings of Power based expansion, only in the aesthetics of the Jackson Trilogy. It could have been a tie in to the TV show without needing the license. Tap into that market with similar models, but still within the confides of the Jackson film license. Anyway I agree with everything. Sauron needs a new model. One towering over the rest of his army. One made in a dynamic pose made of plastic. And the alliance needs a new model for Isildur, Elendil and Gil Galad. In fact, I am so impressed with the job that they did on Elrond with the Banner Bearer, that I have ever since then been hoping for Gil Galad, on horse and off, with a High Elf War Horn Blower. These two models would be a perfect match for one another and effectively, the two boxes would form a command squad. And the same can be done with Isildur and Elendil. Both on foot and horse, each with a Numenor Banner or Horn. I will take this whole idea a step further though. Heck, i'll take it 2 steps further. GW seems to have an obsession with prequels at the moment. Bringing Horus Heresy into the mainstream with a huge plastic box set, not once, but twice with Legion Imperialis. And of course, bringing Old World back. What if, they use this supplement to reinvigorate the MESBG with a prequel themed box set and really hammer home that this supplement isn't a new version of the game or a new game all together, but is something that is ideally played on its own. Sauron is afterall not in the Third Age Mordor army. Taking Gil Galad in a rivendell army with Third Age elves such as Arwen makes alliances difficult. And I believe Numenor has little to no allies due to not surviving to the War of the Ring/ becoming Gondor. They are clearly armies from a different age and should be treated as such. So what if this supplement expands the 2nd age setting enough that you can have multiple factions set in the 2nd age and have 2nd age specific fights. I'm thinking huge expansions to Rivendell and Numenor on the hero side and Barad Dur and the new faction of a 2nd age Easterling army. I'm really starting to step into the realms of unbelievability, but it would be awesome and could be a huge money maker for GW. Add some more primitive looking, 3000 year old easterlings to side with Barad Dur and create new Troops, Cavalry and Heroes for it. And then maybe, if the budget is big enough, or as another supplement down the line, maybe even add more faction like a 2nd age Dwarf army. But this prequel spin off game that isn't strictly a spin off game could add some new fresh armies and awesome new models to a separate setting, big enough to create attention. And as mentioned, i can see it having a huge box set with 4 armies in it. Probably unlikely to happen, but imagine if it did. Huge battles in the 2nd age. Huge battles with grand Alliances which are fitting to the expansions name. 2nd age Elves, Men and Dwarves facing down Sauron and his forces of evil. And drag whatever you like in to really bolster the numbers. Trolls, Wargs, Fell Beasts, the Nazgul. Whatever works in the second age.
Close call between The Fall of Arnor and The Last Alliance , however, I agree, Last Alliance will most likely be the next supplement given the new Elrond model. We will certainly see a new Gil Galad, not sure about Anarion. Hopefully we will get better Last Alliance Elves, given the original ones were so cack, the swordsmen always broke and were in poses that made no sense, about time we get an update on these elves.
I am very hopeful for new plastic High Elves. I think its relatively likely because the Elrond box set comes with the plastic High Elf Bannerman which means that Games Workshop has sculpted plastic High elves already!
I can foresee last alliance, it’s long overdue, ad could also get plastic high elf spears then! But I would love a war in the south with harad, Umbar, and far harad
It would be nice if a last Alliance supplement would give an option to play movie last Alliance and book last Alliance. Where in the book last Alliance you get to include some khazad dwarf warriors and khazad guards and maybe a new forefather of Durin (if my memory serves right the fall of khazad dum is after the last Alliance and it would be a different Durin). It's quite interesting to see what the last Alliance LL will be though because you want it to be something that's playable at under 1000 points which would be necessary for all 4 central characters and some troops
Dont make fun of Gamling. Rohan often strugles to contain high fight good strenght threats and he can help contain those with his Defence. Also it really helps that he brings along March, togehter wis his 3 Might he is quite versatile and has benn a sucessful staple of my 400-600 pts Rohan.
You are missing: War of the Rohirrim. With the MTOs coming up, it is likely that they will replace or extend Rohan even more. I would bet money on it, that it has something to do with Rohan. Everyone loves Rohan anyway ❤️
Seriously thank you so much for the comment, without your comment I wouldn't realise there was a problem. I am not sure what the source of the problem is but for the next video it will be fixed!
I think Last Alliance is less likely than Arnor, but I would be excited to see either. I think you're spot on with your picks, and your predictions, great video! Whatever comes, I'm sure it'll be worth it! :D
Hey man, there are already two, Rivendell has elves in men of the west AND the Grey Company. Don't get greedy. Obviously it's another Rohan legion that we need. /s
I hope it's more Rohan! More horses wooo! 😂 Really though some angmar/arnor stuff would be sweet. Loving the new mics and your quality is always improving even on these non batrep videos! I did notice your voice audio is only coming out of the left side though, just wanted to let you know in case that somehow slipped by you. My lapels also do the same thing, if you use premiere pro like I do (I think I remember you using that in your week long vlog) just use the fill right with left audio effect on the VO track and you'll be golden! Cheers man!
Quick comment about the audio. Your microphone input is only coming out the left channel. Which makes me think you’ve recorded in mono but in your editor it’s sitting in a stereo track but the audio isn’t sent to both channels. Slightly off putting when listening on head phones! Thought I would give you a friendly heads up :)
Now we know theyre doing arnor, what doyou think are the chances we see updated last alliance afterwards? I know they dont exactly release mesbg stuff fast, so should i just expect the arnor campaign related book this year?
I'm just glad they have plans. I was getting pretty worried what with all the LotR rights changing hands of late. I'd be happy with any of your suggestions. I don't see them doing rings of power and don't know whether that makes last alliance more or less likely. A full book on the hobbit scenarios would be my top pick. I'd love quest of erebor and battle of the five armies to each be their own book though. That would round out the material in the books and films, and put them in a good place to expand into other material like Arnor. I don't expect a one to one remake of any of the old books though.
Rather than Shadow and Flame, I'd rather see a War of Dwarves and Orcs supplement. Give the Khazad Dum dwarves some new heroes and LL (representing the dwarves from the Blue mountains etc) and a massive LL that combines Erebor, Iron Hills and Khazad dwarves! Plus some LL for Moria without the Balrog.
I would love a new setting using the rules. Just with no warp in it as all. THey have three setting that are independent of each other with the warp. Also have the setting allow children stories.
No matter what the new supplement will be about i just want them to add grand army of the east legendary legion (khamul, amdur, khandish king) - make amdur great again
I would much rather no new profiles or supplements and rather go back through a update the sculpts on almost the entire range! Especially the very old plastic sprues
Thanks for the comment, I want a few more supplements to fill out Middle Earth and then rather than bloating the game I would love for them to just improve and re-release old models
Please...no Rings of Power. I think it's most likely to be The Last Alliance, The Fall of Arnor, or a tie-in for the War of the Rohirrim film releasing in December. The War of the Rohirrim was supposed to release in April. It's a Warner Bros film, which can easily integrate with GW's existing Middle-earth license (unlike Amazon's Rings of Power). If GW had been expecting to launch a War of the Rohirrim expansion in April, it would explain why we heard virtually nothing for months--they had planned to build up hype related to the movie throughout last year, but then had nothing planned when the movie was delayed until December 2024.
Great video! Makes me interested in khazad dum, even if they aren't competitive. Lots of people online think the new faction will be related to War of the Rohirrim coming out. What do you think, Jacob?
Thanks for the comment! I have seen talk about the War of the Rohirrim. I head that it is planned to be in December of 2024 and I reckon that this supplement will come out before then. War of the Rohirim is a tricky one because there is already so much Rohan related releases for the game. They have by far the most legendary legions and new miniatures so I would prefer to see other factions developed more before they revisit Rohan.
I don't reckon we will ever see Iron Hills in plastic but I reckon with the last alliance we will see new plastic High Elves. We know that Games Workshop already has them sculpted because of the banner bearer that comes with Elrond. Getting a whole army as nice as that model would be incredible
Barad dur LL could be just super limited so not ringwraiths or other named characters (bar any new ones for this supplement, maybe?) But some jazzed rules, orca within 15" of sauron gain fearless or something like that. A different way to play ia always good.
If anything I’d like to see a last alliance book. Would give the numanorians some better stats I hope. There fine but in todays game of how strong most of other stuff is they just wont compete. It would be cool if they got better range weapons as man bows suck as it is and higher defence or at least made them 2 points cheaper. Would be cool if they got synergy either can mix and match elves and men to keep your f5 spears on s4 men. Or something like orcs/uruks get bonus for fighting together. Id assume the heros would get a banner effect or at least give troops like a fearless bubble or something since they literally went to fight the basest of the bad (well sort of)
You gotta try out the audio on headphones. It only comes out from the left one and is really muted :c
I thought there was a problem from my side, but it seems the video is having some audio video.
It is done on purpose, not to hurt your ears when he talks about Rings of Power.
I really want a War in the South, with some fiefdoms, umbar, harad, and the blue wizards!
i want numenor, official model for elendil on horse and annarion
So true !
Not really south but some love gor Khand would be awesome. Eorl and Khand legendary legions for fields of celebrant battle
I would love to see the blue wizards, I had some duplicate Sarumans, I painted them blue and invented my own character stats.
It would also be cool to include Wildmen of Rhudaur!
I hope they take inspiration from LOTRO and add more units. Like Angmarim cultists, evil dwarves, undead lords, etc. Snow trolls and Mountain giants would be nice too
A Dark Numenorean character like Agandaur would be cool too
So much could be done with Arnor.
They could also add some Kazad-dum and Moria stuff with it
Would love this. More power to the short-bois!
I would love this
💯
Numenor definitely needs an update, I’ve literally been looking at the same models/sculpts for the last 23 years.
Now I want to play LOTRO again!
FIRST AGE SUPPLEMENTS. Now that would be a thing of beauty.
They would all be to OP
First age supplement would be insane. They could make some crazy Sigmar like epic models to show off the most powerful heroes of Beleriand
They dont have the ip
oooh shit didn't think abt that that sucks@@Dryan91
Since the storm Ast eternals came out I got a serious war of wrath vibes. The storm casts as the Vanyar and the Celestan Prima as Ëonwe ☺️
Look I'm happy theres been AN announcement dont get me wrong, but Jesus, how can they end the first announcement in months with just "there is a supplement." fucken tell us ANYTHING
it's a supplement on how to make dioramas! 🤣
Get off the road expansion
100%
It's an announcement that there'll be an announcement later, why isn't that enough for you all?
Re a few comments on the audio, potentially a settings issue with the rode mic, not sure of model but sometimes they default to mono instead of stereo when recording
My heart wants a Shadow & Flame supplement. For the same reason, I want some additions to make dwarfs stronger. But I would love to build an Arnor army if options were expanded. Also, a numenorian with more options would be exciting.
Silmarillion expansion. I’d model Fëanor after his failed attack on Thangorodrim 😉
and something simillar to smaug, lets say manwe for 800 points(just for fun like with smaug)
@@maxblade1155 Ancalagon 😉 although a Tulkas v Melkor FW diorama would be cool!
& mtd.)
Priority no. 2: Anarion
Priority no.
I totally would love a *Last Alliance* supplement that developes Numenor (hopefully as they did with Dunland or Easterlings) and some nice character for Barad Dur and tweek to Sauron to make that list more competitive ( Sauron is barely seen in torunaments)
2/ Arnor and Angmar would be super cool as well.
3/ Khazad Dum needs something as well, but Moria is very developed...
Thats my guess and my order in priority. We will see! Cheers from Spain
It looks like it will be the last alliance, there is news that they already had models of Gil Galad's royal guard made when the mounted Elrond miniature came out
Let's hope for a new elendil, isildur and the long-awaited Aenarion along with one or two new models, the new mini from gil galad and I would like a decent sauron miniature... the one we have is already about 20 years old or so
Greetings also from Spain!!
That would be super cool my friend. Realmente sería el suplemento que he esperado desde que era niño. Saludos desde Valencia!
Hopefully they also give Sauron a new plastic model, too...
I do think something related to rohan, harad and corsairs following the lore of the animation movie coming out this year.
What do harad and corsairs have to do with the movie coming out?
Puling for the Thorins Company supplement but like you said, .ost likely is Last Alliance. I think it's what the whole community wants
I think Last Alliance would be the correct choice for Games Workshop and for the community. If Thorin's Journey doesn't happen for the next release I hope it happens in the future
For a Fall of Arnor we also could get Aranarth (son of Arvedui) and the Hillmen of rauduar
At the moment all the named Arnor Heros have an Aura buff, so Aranarth could do something like it
I'd love to see sub-factions Allowing players to focus on Arthedain or Cardolan to make their force play different.
Number 5 seems most likely. A Last Alliance LL is something thats seems like it should exist already and wouldn't be surprising too.
Fingers crossed that it's either the southern realms like Harad, Fiefdoms, etc
OR
Northern...with a heavy emphasis on Angmar, Arnor, Rivendell, all that.
Heck yeah! I'm all for Khazad-Dum release and updates! Hope they do!
I have no idea of what's coming next, but your suggestions make sense 👌 I'm just excited to see the new book 😀 great video Jacob 🙏
I do hope they include the dwarfs of khazad dum in the last alliance since you know, they were there haha.
This is true.
The Last Alliance could work in Dwarves as well
Nice overview.
They needs a serious buff on the osg veterans in such a legion.
Really interesting hearing your Arnor predictions now. :D
Seems like you were pretty on point.
Arnor supplement I'd love the most but I will welcome Last Alliance expansion with open arms as well! And regarding Gondor of 2nd age cav - we had some glimpse of it when Isildur was ambushed on Gladden Fields!
That is true that we saw cavalry in that scene. It would be really cool to do a gladden fields themed numenor army
@@ConquestCreations Cav and three of Isildur’s sons 😍
I think you're on the money with the number 1 and 2. Last Alliance is definatly the most likely seeing the prior release of a new Elrond and banner bearer. I personally prefer an Arnor supplement though. I'd love to see rugged Arnor veterans, cavalry, kings guard, new heroes and actual Arnor rangers that are not just Rangers of Gondor with a different colour sceme. Also a sub faction of men of Carn Dum for Angmar would be awesome!
F in the chat for our fallen torch he shall live on in our hearts.
I agree on adding archers to goblin town. Their shooting could be 6+ to balance them. Could make the list more versatile and fun without breaking it.
Yeah giving them something to ad more tactical options into Goblin Town without completely changing the army would be great
GW could make Ruins of Arnor massive with Dwarves and Elves (Lindon and Rivendell) getting rules. While Gondor could have a new character (Earnur) and new Warriors of Minas Tirth sculpts
It would be cool to get lindon! I am certain that at some point we will get plastic high elves but I reckon that would come with the last alliance
I've been trying to make a last alliance list I'm happy with for AGES, I am so hopeful for a Last Alliance supplement!
Please, no rings of power
🙏
terrible series just by the dialogue and acting on its own
Yeah all that's true but could make for some fun minis and rules. And you know, we got nothing better right now I think 🤔
GWs own designs have looked a lot better than the rings of power designs so I hope they just stick to their own more accurate designs.
@@arvatrontheiv2220 exactly my thoughts, I just don’t see the RoP design in the same game next to the other factions
It'd be really cool to get a stone giant from The Hobbit, and basically a supplement for Children of Húrin.
They had some force with the elves and men
Arnor-Angmar is a given to me.
Yeah this would be awesome. I am a massive fan of War in the Nr=orth. Getting Agandaur would be an awesome inclusion
this would be DOPE.
Yeah i saw this article last night. I mostly want to know what the new expansion book is more than anything.
I hope one day they make a War of the Charioteers supplement. Not sure what it could contain but could be pretty interesting
I would love to see an official Gil-Galad on horse model. I like all of your predictions and will be excited about whatever they give us
If they do a last alliance supplement I reckon this is a guarantee! Gil Galad done to the same standard as the new Glorfindel would be amazing
I so want a last alliance LL. The hero's are sweet and so thematic. I want it so bad
You are missing: War of the Rohirrim. With the MTOs coming up, it is likely that they will replace or extend Rohan even more. I would bet money on it, that it has something to do with Rohan. Everyone loves Rohan anyway ❤️
War of the Rohirrim is an anime style movie so the aesthetic won’t fit with the existing range! So I believe nothing will come from the new film
Jacob, I think something is still wrong with the Audio (stereo). I can hear you in my left ear only, last video was the right ear only.
You can build Moria lists with Lots of archers.
I’d just really like a legendary legion using Rivendell or Lothlorien elves tbh
Hey man, there are already two, Rivendell has elves in men of the west AND the Grey Company. Don't get greedy.
Obviously it's another Rohan legion that we need. /s
I hope it's more Rohan! More horses wooo! 😂
Really though some angmar/arnor stuff would be sweet.
Cheers man!
I can't believe it's not another diorama!
Maybe its a supplement about dioramas!
Hey! I've noticed your last couple videos (including this one) have only worked on one side of my headphones. Just a heads up if you didn't know! :)
Oropher: “Leeeroy, jennnnkinss!”
Nice re release of minies i like the standing poses
Just implement everything all in except for rings of power
Good stuff as usual, but the sound is so low you can hardly hear it.
I want Last Alliance but I'm not going to get my hopes up again. Most likely it's going to be something random like Defence of the North
Would like them to bring back arnor a very niche army but very cool thematic army the green and silver they looked great always wanted one
They probably had a bunch of extra Gamling on horse from last MTO left over.
Audio is only out of my left ear?
Last alliance or iron hill dwarves in plastic would be my hope
I don't reckon we will ever see Iron Hills in plastic but I reckon with the last alliance we will see new plastic High Elves. We know that Games Workshop already has them sculpted because of the banner bearer that comes with Elrond. Getting a whole army as nice as that model would be incredible
Thanks for the video! But you should duplicate audio for the right side.
Barad dur LL could be just super limited so not ringwraiths or other named characters (bar any new ones for this supplement, maybe?) But some jazzed rules, orca within 15" of sauron gain fearless or something like that. A different way to play ia always good.
I can definetly imagine them doing this for Barad-Dur. It would be really cool to see how many buffs you could stack onto orcs
Id assume the heros would get a banner effect or at least give troops like a fearless bubble or something since they literally went to fight the basest of the bad (well sort of)
Yeah, it's always been so ridiculous that the survivors of laketown have the same defense as numenorean warriors
Would love for these to steer away from the movie aesthetics and go more after the original lore from Tolkien.
I go for Arnor!
Me too i have only 3 soliders of arnor 😅
