Hey man you have guts to say this. Even after clearing JEE advanced and getting IIT, I realised that all that matters is hard work. Don't say you wasted your time but enjoy your college life without some regret. It's not the place or institution that matters but it's the people. Believe it, your hard work will bring you success in some other way.
Very good Karishma. You have my respect. I don't know why IIT is given such importance yaar I really don't understand. I agree IIT's are good colleges but that doesn't mean nothing comes outside IIT. I mean were the earlier scientists from any great colleges? Like I have heard ampere did not even do proper schooling. He just read books of Bernoulli and Dirichlet. Universe is open to all. Anybody can learn and do anything in this world. But you being IITian and telling this so I am proud of you. Have a nice day and bright future

My brother didn’t clear any competitive exam such as iit jee, he took admission in a private college for btech and with his skill and hard work, got 9.7 cgpa. Now he works in amazon with an amazing pay scale. Not getting into iit isn’t the end of your carrier. Cheer up ! You are a talented guy and I’m sure you’ll do great in life with or without iit
@@PrivateAbhii I would like to disagree. You can take student loans which have very low interest rate. I know a girl who did that, she's in a good company in Bangalore now, earns well, and has paid off all her loans, living her best life. (PS - She came from a very poor family background)
@Nithish Gowda ya .. that's how loans work. You gotta pay it back. But you get really low interest rates. Also, it only takes about 2-3 years to pay it all back along with your accomodation and grocery expenses if you are wise with your money.

I prepared for IIT-JEE in 2011-2013. I mentally gave up in 2012, and ofc never got into IITs. At the end of my 11 standard, I went from being a school topper to being completely hopeless and depressed. In admist of all this, I discovered that I enjoyed learning physics, so I went on to do a BSc. Physics from Amity University in Noida, after keeping my pride aside and fighting an year long depression. Perhaps the best decision of my life, not to waste another year in the rat race and save my life bcz I was becoming suicidal with the existential crisis I had. In 2016, I graduated from Amity as second of my class and got into NIT Srinagar for my MSc. Physics after qualifying IIT-JAM. I learned more in Amity than at NIT. Neverthless, no one knew how to teach properly. No one had any happiness when teaching and talking about physics. My true inspiration came from TH-cam where I watched American Professors. In 2018, I took a gap year, worked hard and took GREs, and came to the US to do my MS in Teaching, because I realized how fucked up our education system is, private or government it is all about the next rat race, and I wanted to fix it by being a teacher. I am almost done with my MS, I had assitantship for the whole 3 years, the University of Maine paid for my tuition, and I got a monthly stipend of 1700$. In fact, I even saved and bought my first car last year. Professors here have completely changed the way I understood Math and Physics, and how to teach it. I have been very happy, and I look forward to becoming a Math and Physics teacher, and then want to do my education based global non-profit startup. I am extremely happy that I didn't make it to IITs, that I followed my love for physics and then for teaching, and studied what I liked and found my own personal way to make it big, rather than becoming an engineer. My Physics teacher at Aakash Institute in Delhi used to say, "there is more to life than IITs," and he was absolutely right. I hope if you are reading this, you write your own journey and become what you truly value personally rather than finding your worth in a tag. If you will use a brand to validate your self-worth, you will never feel satisfied and always keep running. IIT, IIM, UPSC, all of these exams do so much harm to our talented pool of youngsters, who could very well go and do so much with their lives, but our dumb society and its ego games are making them sick and depressed. Please, take it easy, find what you really enjoy doing and work hard for it just for the sake of it. Learning is a rewarding process in itself. Study for excellence not success, what you have learned in these years, no can take from you. And if you ever need a real Jeetu bhaia to talk to, who actually knows how to navigate life after you don't make it to IITs, shoot me an email at anupamraj0701@gmail.com I wrote this long ass comment bcz I wish the younger me had the older me as an example. Oh my goodness that is a really depressing story. You're drive to study is surely one of the best ive seen and goddamn, must be very disappointing to focus on something higher and then fail teh most basic of things just because of a lack of focus on it. I really believe in you and I hope you took a drop. I know you can easily make it into the top nits if you really set a goal for them. I'd love to hear an update on your story. As someone who took their first JEE in these past few months, I just know how frustrating it must be to not be able to get the college you have dreamt of your entire life
I was an absolute mess in my 11th and 12th. Landed up in the worst possible tier 3 college. But I had the strong passion for electronics and constantly did well. I work at a semiconductor product company today and my team is a mixed bag of people from iit/iiit/nits & tier 3 colleges. All I want to say is please don’t lose hope at 18-19, a lot of things change by the time you turn 25. Best of luck ❤️
Dude over lakhs students appear for JEE MAINS, but there are limited IIT seats approx to 16k, that doesn't mean people who didn't qualify the bare minimum isn't good. If you see in the long run these exams won't matter much. I have seen many people who got better opportunities than the IITians. Focus on skills rather than getting a college tag. A career is like a marathon and it takes your time to better your skills. Life is about the journey and experiences you live, not about the results you made, just enjoy and be grateful for yourself that you are alive. :) PS: I am a software engineer in top MNC from a private college lol
After watching this video I am like "where is the dislike button when I need it the most". Now most of you reading this might be angry but hold on and let me explain my point. This guy already got 98 percentile in JEE Main which is already a very good score! The only problem with this guy is that he wanted to go for CSE only and that too in either IITs or top 3 NITs. He could have easily got CSE in any middle NIT where he would have bagged a high paying job easily. In his own words, he said that he traded NIT Jaipur Electrical for any branch in DTU which is outright idiotic! So the problem here is not low JEE rank but poor counselling strategy and the fact that he is stubborn!
He is myopic. He don't know that cse may have high packages but their lifetime job experience is very less, compare to other branches. Have you ever heard any CSE guy still in job once he is 35 or 40+. If No, search once for this on internet, the reasons. Not his fault but it is due to coaching institute who does this. They will never share what happens with those students who have 10+ years of experience in CSE.

This is not the problem of our education system bro this the problem of our mentality . Reserved students are not those students who have similar life style like you they may belong to an economically undeveloped family the opportunities which u are getting they are not. Don't u worry Alok . I am also a super dropper . I first gave my JEE in 2018. Just cleared the cut off for jee advanced . And my 12th percentage was also low. Still i gathered myself for the 2nd attempt. I was able to secure a rank of 20,000 in JEE MAINS and i was happy that now i can take admission in the NIT'S but unfortunately my 12th percentage didn't meet creteria for the admission. My family was not financial good that i could take admission in private colleges and moreover my family has lost hope from me that i can really do something in life. So i got no option but to give an another try . SO I stood again and gave the last attempt for JEE mains in 2020 and filled for form for NIOS and lucky due to covid percentage creteria was removed and i achieved 99.82 percentile and got admission in "IIIT ALLAHABAD" and life is really full of fun and happiness now. You would have heard this a lot, but would still say which college you end up at is not the most important aspect, of course it is partly a factor. What's far more important is that you learn engineering the right way, and not like how the most of us do. Most of us who call ourselves engineers are basically frauds, because we really do not know what we did or learnt for 4 years. Question yourself about your learning, about genuinely understanding and creating ideas. It will sound ideal, but it's the way to go. Most of us waste many years to realise this, I hope you don't do the same. We start iit prep with understanding concepts, but stop that soon to just do problem solving. We all do that, unfortunately. I hope you don't worry too much for smaller things compared to the bigger picture. Wishing you the best 👍🏽

Being a dropper for neet 2 times without any coaching I can understand it all the marks count, the anxiety, the pressure. The worst period of my life. Just will let you know there are better options with more happiness than what we think of. Time is not wasted just think you had an anxious long amusement park ride experience. See the opportunities in other fields I assure you, you will find your peace and joy in your choosen any college after some time. Just try to accept things and decrease some burden from yourself. Let other people say shit they didn't have the same situations as u. you have to fight for yourself and love yourself at least as you understand yourself only.
you're a chad don't feel demotivated and have a practical approach towards the paper be the jack of all cards physics , chemistry and Math together You have what it takes
Sometimes its good to just let it go out of your system. I know that feeling (maybe not the level you got but atleast basic) at that time we become so depress thinking same thing in our mind again and again . Unfortunately there's no one with whom you can share this, talking to parents would be hard and your friend would be going through same frustration . When it happened to me I removed that frustration in writing format and you did in a video format and i am sure you would have felt much better and relief. Don't worry about neighbor's/relatives all they need is topic of discussion when they themselves haven't achieved anything (sorry i know it sounds rude ) . Failure is always a point and not the whole picture so don't worry at the end you will get to know the reason why you failed and laugh at that time thanking god i failed at that time for something precious which is going to come in future.

Bro at least you are able to fight in your councelling. I during my time was getting a somewhat better college with mechanical, though I chose production engineering at a state government college of my hometown. This is because of some circumstances going on in my family at that time, I couldn't take a rational decision. I love my branch and the syllabus, but I lost my 4 years of engineering in a college which lacked even the compatible people to make friendships with...... infrastructure is a distant thing to think for me. Very good Karishma. You have my respect. I don't know why IIT is given such importance yaar I really don't understand. I agree IIT's are good colleges but that doesn't mean nothing comes outside IIT.

When you study hard and still not get what you want , bhaisaab pura confidence gir jaata he. When you clearly know you deserve more, ego hurt hota he jab ek dum lower colleges mile jaha pe aise log jaate jinko nahi padhane se matlab he nahi padhne se. I am a senior to you, but this is similar what i went through, biggest thing that bothers me is the amount of money my parents had to spend for the drop year in which selection was not even statistically possible. Anyway, I always wanted to pursue a higher degree in Maths, i joined DU, I have been enjoying it since then. Just know that one system of standardisation doesn't not have to validate everyone. One size doesn't fit all. You are a different person, and soon you will find out your passion in things. I did not fail to get into IIT/NIT, i failed to keep my parents' trust on me. I will rise and I will shine. I accept that i was not meant for Engg studies, but dude, there are so many avenues out there. Remember:ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL. This failure has taught me so many things and I do not regret anything at all. STRONG PEOPLE ACCEPT THE TRUTH. It takes courage to accept truth, you are ONE BOLD MAN, I can see you being an inspiration in the future. ALL THE BEST BRO 😉.
Bro which course are you persuing in DU ?? If someone has intrest in Maths..which Course should he persue... Plzz tell ????
@@adeebarfi8487 BSc Maths, check the syllabus of the course, someone might be interested in applied maths, some might be pure maths, some in stats. Hence, check the syllabi of courses. In DU, Bsc(H)Maths has pure and applied but people in this course lose motivation pretty easily because it becomes progressively harder and they fail to connect with the course accordingly as they had though it to be after studying maths in 12.
Thanks a lot bhaiya. This video cut down my over confidence.

I had given both IIT, NEET not even cleared BHU entrance exams after 12th.. but I still feel fortunate coz I'm doing the best thing for myself now.. You have been heard so many times that whatever happens to you.. happens for the good.. you will realise it in the future..
Steve Jobs also said once - "you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever."
So,..plz never be afraid of anything happening bad to you.. If you're a TRUE HARD WORKER .. then SUCCESS IS MADE FOR YOU!!
What are you pursuing now?

Bro, Chill. This is not the end of life. Best thing to do is study your undergraduate and prepare for gate, jam etc. You will rise again. Don't give up. Taking another drop is not recommended.
Brother honestly the hardwork you put in the experiences you gained and the knowledge you gained, will never go wasted and 10 years down the line when you look back on this setback, you will only see the learnings and how important it was in your journey!!!
