    Love your videos but I watch them with a little bit of envy. 😅 Love the dogs and your hunting ethics. Chukars were brought to America from the Himalayan mountain range, the habitat is quite similar. Your videos take me back to my childhood in Afghanistan.

    Great video, Eric. I don't fault you for the one bird over the limit. That stuff happens. I had it happen to me on a waterfowl hunt. Here's a question: Does the fish and game agency of this undisclosed state reach out to you after this? Do you self report? I will be honest and admit that I didn't self report my waterfowl accidental bonus bird. It came home with me and went in my belly.

    • @ericforrester1
      @ericforrester1  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I didn’t self report and I don’t see why anyone would. There was no intent and no reasonable action that could have been taken to prevent it. I don’t know any game wardens that would come after someone in this situation. If they did, I would question their motives.

    • @mrsockeye
      @mrsockeye หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ericforrester1
      I work with a few retired game wardens, and some of them are real sticklers. One of them was the kind of guy that would take a cotton swab to a hook to measure whether or not the hook was debarbed well enough. I agree with you that this sort of thing should largely be measured by intent. I was thinking of a time that I killed two turkeys with one shot by accident. It was legal to kill two turkeys, and even two turkeys in the same day, but it was illegal to kill the second bird without first reporting the harvest of the first bird. Anyhow, I punched my tags, broke the law, unintentionally by killing two toms with one shot (I had no idea there was another bird behind the one I shot. I touched off the trigger as soon as his head came over the little hill separating us). Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think what you did is a good example of real world hunting ethics. I love your videos. They are the most authentic upland bird hunting videos I have ever seen.

    Another fantastic video of chukar hunting. Your spots are amazing we hunt chukars in their motherland (middle east) but it seems that your continent will have more chukars on the upcoming years. Unconscious urbanization destroys the population of wildlife every year in our country. It is great to see that still there are big herds of chukars exist somewhere in the earth.

    Hi there, I’ve been recently watching your videos. I’m a new bird hunter in Las Vegas who recently got a GSP back in March. I’ve been training it, but I’m a new hunter and wanted to ask how you find your locations. Las Vegas and its surroundings can be tough, but I want to start getting out with my dog and having some success. I recently got OnXhunt and I’m learning how to use it. What suggestions would you give a new hunter like myself on how to find bird locations? Thanks for your content.

    • @Private_Idaho_1
      @Private_Idaho_1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. Get a NV guzzler map. Chukar need water. 2. Look at the areas NV department of wildlife does their counts. They don't do counts in areas with no chukar. 3. Ask big game hunters. Bird hunters won't give up their spots but deer/elk hunters will tell you where they saw birds. 4. Go look for them. Water + Cheatgrass+ rocks and sage = birds.

    Another spectacular video in classic chukar habitat: rock, sage, grass + topography = chukar. I find complacency is a function of opportunity. It disappears when birds (or chances) are scarce... only to be replaced by 'tightness' when your mind is telling you to make the most of this flush since you travelled all this way, haven't seen a bird all day, etc. And then you miss from the self-imposed pressure. That's been my experience, anyway 😂
