I'm in my 40s and when I would listen to the older guys talk about the wild stuff they did and how they were lucky to not be spending the rest of their life in prison, I took it as a lesson to not follow in their footsteps. The guys younger than me heard the same stories from the same guys and they looked at it like a challenge or a list of things to do in order to be cool.. most of my generation ended up free, decent jobs and family and friends.. that generation had kids they don't support, are in and out of prison and not accomplishing anything.. the old timers are left scratching their heads wondering how the same message and lessons achieved 2 different results... glad you are free and enjoying life OG BADGER!!! Keep pushing the positive message cause there's some of the youngsters who are really good kids and they can end up on either end..
It’s the culture. Everyone thinks they are cool/ tuff. People used to just accept who they are. Also people just get tired of following rules that don’t make any sense.
yes alot of young kids wont learn until they get in trouble or go through it themselves. i had uncles and aunts who were on drugs and up until i was 19 i always was against drugs then eventually got addicted myself up until a year ago i finally got clean. i wasted hundred or thousands on drugs. not even exaggerating

Well if that’s the case they better not get caught up and sent to prison because in California prison they have 1000 rules that don’t make any sense (I mean some do) and if you don’t follow rules you get some iron in your diet or 🔒 🧦. Better to follow stupid rules in society cause CDC Rules are absolutely brutally enforced.

Its fragile egos man. A lot of gangsters have them. Their whole self worth is based on how many people think that they are bad ass and tough. Like someone could cut me off in the street and call me a bitch when im with my lady. I know that waking up in my bed next to her is worth 10000X more than if i chased the guy down and smashed his windshield. I feel like Badger would be a windshield smasher. Where he'd tell himself that he doesnt care if he goes to jail, someone just hurt his ego and in his mind has to go make it right or otherwise he loses part of his manhood/identity.
All this is easy to say when you're not living in a building where some grub a few doors down is constantly harassing your woman with zero respect for either her or you. If you walked away every time like it was all OK then you my friend are a weakling, and people will absolutely take liberties for your whole life.
The fact that she dumped him anyway is a testament to the fact that women ruin lives and move on while the man goes through hell. Awful story for Badger, you can see he's heartbroken more than anything. Put yourself in his shoes for a minute

I dealt with that too. I ended up drinking a lot over it. Once I stopped the drinking, I almost forgot what was the reason behind it. 15 years of self medication will make you wonder what you could've done with your life. 😅

45 and starting over from absolute (I mean absolute )nothing. Blessed to have my health, so I , we, have all we need to rebuild again and better. Saludos Badger, we are doing this thing together and you and I have people that are watching us, both cheering us on or hoping to watch us fail.
We also have people that are looking to us succeed because then they will know they can too. We have to not give up and keep moving forward no matter how impossible and unlikely any level of success may seem.

I'm 41 years old trying to start back up again from nothing basically at least I have a place to stay for now my girlfriend and daughter are here even though she doesn't really care about me anymore. I have my car my health is screwed I spent a month in a coma a year-and-a-half ago. I am an army combat veteran though and I won't give up until I take my last breath.

Pobody's nerfect. If youve never read No Country For Old Men, I think you would take a lot away from it. The movie is very accurate to the book and is free on TH-cam right now, but i didnt really understand it until i read the book and ive read it well over two hundred times now. There's little part toward the end

There's so much weird stuff in life. There's so much stuff, I'm responsible for and my friends died and i didn't. I lived, they didnt and i was the one that showed them, taught them, did worse shit than all of them put together, but they all died and i didn't. You don't need any advanced degree to see that ain't fair. Nevermind considering that's what i did for the people i cared about the most, shepherded everyone to their graves. I just try to make things better, but that's tough to do, when you have all this unresolved fear, violence, and trauma inside you.
I always hated violence, even as a little kid, but i got numb too it the older i got. And it took me till i was in my late thirties before i could even admit that, because i couldn't stsnd the idea of being a victim or vulnerable again. And even at thirty eight i was still afraid to admit the truth of the situation, that i never actually wanted any of it, i did it, i chose to do it, but only cause i saw everything filtered through the eyes of an extremely traumatized child. It justifies everything i ever did because i had never let any of it go or processed any of it. And stuff that was done to me twenty five, thirty, thirty five years ago is still controlled me. I knew that wasn't right, most of all because i havent been a kid in a long time. This is long, and rambling.
