I think it's neat how the Mega Man 7 version is all action-packed and in-your-face, like Bass wants to fight and Mega Man wants to get back at him for his manipulations. Then, come Mega Man 8, we get this lower-key, melancholy, and atmospheric version. Mega Man is tired of all the fighting, sees Bass's deeply lodged inner goodness, and just wants to make up with him.
@Pro Token420 heres what's also ironic both bass and zero were programmed to destroy however they both ended up having their own goals which I find great cause bass is your typical anime rival bit actually given alot of depth with every appearance and zero is your typical protagonist but with an interesting backstory that actually works given the stuff he's gone through both of these robots not only gained their personalities but made their marks in megaman history as the 2 robots that wily built with their own goals
I would like to see Bass in his own spin-off video game, but his obsession of challenging strong robots like Mega Man, Proto Man and Duo. I'm not sure they could make it.
@@kaienjin5468 i had an idea for a bass game where you would have to fight "0" (proto-zero) he wouldn't have his hair, face, or armor, just a creepy robot skull and a buster (his body wouldn't be a frame though it would look like proto-zero in megaman unlimited and he does wear a helmet). he wouldn't be a secret boss though, after you beat the boss of the intro stage wily would fly in and tell bass that he's obsolete, then 0 would teleport in. you would get your ass handed to you and then 0 would start to malfunction and teleport away. after that 0 would show up in some stages as a mini-boss like pro- err... break man in megaman 3, he would teleport away if you do enough damage or if he does enough damage because he would begin malfunctioning again (he is still incomplete after all) 0 would be a boss after beating half the stages, he would be impossible until treble fuses with bass and the real fight begins, after you beat him you unlock treble boost. 0 would show up one more time in wily stage 3 after a boss rush 0 returns with a z-saber, the fight would be like high max in a way because you would need treble boost to damage him. after the fight is over 0 would drop his saber and bass would throw it at 0 causing him (and the saber so it doesn't cause confusion in x1 because zero doesn't have it) to be destroyed. bass would say something about how 0 could never hope to surpass him and then would go on to teach wily a lesson about trying to replace him. @@moosefart045 Nah. I think Zero is a cooler character. Bass is cool (WAY cooler than Megaman) but he’s just the typical anti-hero/rival type character who’s sole purpose is to try to beat Megaman. Zero actually has more depth to him. Plus Zero has the sword and the hair. I mean come on. Lol.
bass really needed that evil energy. he gets his kicks from being the strongest offensively despite being built off the designs of the more defensive megaman and protoman. mimicking their do goodery as an old habit carried over from his facade in megaman 7 where he pretended to fight wily while they were away drains him.. as they get stronger he gets weaker.
I completely disagree when I played it bass felt so wrong on all the stages (especially drill mans) and the bosses only when I played as megaman was it really awesome.
If anything I'd say Proto Man is more like Knuckles, Red guy who used to be an enemy to the main Blue guy on his debut game, but later became allies with him, and sometimes can be more of an Anti-Hero, fighting Mega Man in many occasions (like in MM7), and sometimes helping him (like in the ending of Megaman 4, Megaman 9 and being playable in Megaman 10), plus I guess in a way his appearance as the fake villain in MM5 sort of mirrors how Knuckles was tricked into being an enemy to Sonic in S3&K, except funnily enough in Sonic it was Eggman who betrayed Knuckles, while in Mega Man it was Proto Man who betrayed Wily

Bass is a fascinating character. A robot who is programmed to surpass Megaman in everything. No wonder he has the potential of being good.

The 10 version seems more laid-back.
@@austinreed7343 what can you do if you're making an 8 bit game but honestly it fits because he's had time to evolve
this theme is badass, theres even a part in the music that sounds like a wolf howling
@Abdullah Mokrani what a mad lad
"A part in the music that sounds like a wolf howling"
That'll be Treble!
Amazing!
Hello me
The word "BADASS" was invented after the name of this guy.
megaman health low "you're history"
megaman landing hit on bass/forte' " what???"
bass/fortes' high laser attack "helix"
He's actually saying, "Feel it!"
What
BASS=Bad Ass Super Saiyan
Oh I get it xD
FEEL IT!!!
Forte is also an instrument. Most of the main cast of Megaman games come from music references in the Japanese version.
It's an instrument? I thought they meant the dynamic forte, which means loud. Yes I know I'm replying to an 8 year old comment.
@@theiceman4494 Bass
@@brounee2 oh, I thought he was referring to his Japanese name
@@theiceman4494 you were right anyway, forte is not an instrument. Maybe he thought that forte means bass in japanese
Loved this theme as a kid!
What the fuck, Bass is kind of jacked.

Zero would turn Bass to scrap in one sword slash man, it's not even a fair fight. Wily himself said Zero would be FAR stronger than Bass.

What ever happened to bass
Bass is like Knuckles: stupid and believe in everyone. And now he is the bad guy. In MM7 he was a bit more good and tryed to save the day...
Bass is more like Shadow than Knuckles.
He did not try to save the day, he lied to mega man and nearly killed Dr. Light.
