Thank you! I will be setting up my new Asus router later today. I've seen on a few videos about setting up Asus routers that you should also upgrade the routers firmware and then reboot the rooter after the firmware update. Is this necessary?
I just ordered this router specifically for my ps5 and ps portal. You'll always want to hard wire your ps5 to the router for online gaming. Like for cod or overwatch . One reason why I bought this router is because its expandble with expandable asus routers. So if you really need to set your ps5 in a different room with the best wireless connection but still hardwire you can. It works like a mesh . Don't ever go for netgear they purposely ruin their routers with fw updates so you can pay for their subscription support. Asus has non subscription lifetime security.
Hi this was very informative Ty. Just a question though can't I set it up without plugging a modem in the new router and just use usb tether instead as I only want it for this feature and defeats the purpose otherwise I do t home internet I have full unlimited 5g I want to usb tether to a a router so I can have controls ports etc please would your be kind enough to reply if this works as 100 GBP to find out I can't afford. Thanks In advance
Hi, Happy Monday from Queensland Australia after watching your video's on Asus I have purchased a DSL-AX82U modem Router to replace my TP Link VX220-G2v modem router supplied by my internet provider (IINET) and was wondering if the set up you explained would be the same for the DSL-AX82U, there are heaps of videos on Asus routers but I can not find anything on setting up a modem router, so I am not keen to try and set it up in case I lose all internet and won't be able to just plug in my old TP Link and carry on as it might lose it's settings, till I get the Asus sorted. TIA
I advise you to contact your ISP to see if the router you bought is supported and whether you need a special config for the DSL part, the Wi-Fi part, should be straight forward like in my video
On the main router which is my tmobile HInternet, I have the Sagemcom fast 5688W. I just got the ASUS AX-3000 and had a few questions. Do I turn off the 2.4 and 5g wifi bands on my Sagemcom, reboot, then ethernet it to the ASUS AX-3000, Then fire up the ASUS for the first time and setup from there? Or setup ASUSRouter first, then unplug, ethernet the two together, fire the main up first, then fire up the ASUS , I'm not sure I feel like I understand this. Some people say u got to disable the wifi on the main router, and some say no, some say the 2 Will conflict with each other if u dont.. im lost..
The best setup will be: 1- Turn off Wi-Fi on your main router 2- Connect the Asus to the main router by ethernet: Use any port except the Wan port on the main router and use the Wan port on the Asus 3- Setup the Asus Wi-Fi using the same SSIDs and passwords that were on the main router. This way, you don't have to re-configure your connected devices.
@KnowledgeSharingTech Thank u so much, for the response and the advice, I greatly appreciate it. U have been a big help and I Salute u Sir.. keep up the great work, Stay Blessed, and have a wonderful day. 👍
Hi! Does de asus router even protect your privacy from your ips, even if its connected to the ips router? Or do you need an extra vpn for this? Thank you! 😊
Good morning Sir, I just bought that Asus Router and I have success to set up already, but I accidentally uninstall my Asus App from my Android phone, and when I downloaded the app again,it like a new one, it's won't connect to the Network that I just Created, How do I do to get back my Connection network? Thank you Sir.
Is it normal for routers to be slower than phones in speedtests? I bought the Asus 4G-AX56 router and it scores half what my phone scores in Ookla. Is my unit defective?
Hey check this out. I followed your video and everything worked fine until I connected to my Asus router outside of network. What happened was it broke my Astrill VPN tunnel and it no longer works. The only way I know how to fix is to restore my router to factory settings which I hate doing because it takes a long time to reconfigure and re-setup my three AiMesh Nodes again. Is there a way to repair VPN so that it works again?
if u please...what is differences between ASUS RT-AX3000 and TUF-AX3000 which faster and have wider coverage range ?

If the router needs a firmware upgrade, you should do it.
@@KnowledgeSharingTech And then do a reboot?
@@retiredguyadventures6211 It will automatically reboot
@@KnowledgeSharingTech The setup went smooth. Thank you!
Can you upgrade firmware through the asus app on iPhone aswell?
After you set it up. Can you put the router in a completely different area of the house and connect an ethernet cable to lets say your ps5?
No, you can get something like this if you want a wired connection: th-cam.com/video/6VMByXrSi3M/w-d-xo.html

I have RT-ax88u I don't see FUSION on this. How can I tell if fusion is included with ? Your video's are outstanding :)
Make sure that is running the original ASUS firmware and not Merlin and then update it
Do I need to keep the Cable plugged into both?
Yes
Thank you. I figured it out when the Internet went out... lol @@KnowledgeSharingTech

your video helps me tq so much sir 🙏
Wow, thank you for this!
Can we use the app over internet to manage the router?
Yes, after you enable Remote Administration on the router. This is not recommended though for security reasons.
