Nice video. I use my Sirui 50 on a Panasonic S1 and it’s not nearly as wide as shooting on a 16:9. I end up with a 2.39:1 which is pretty standard cinematic. On a 16:9 camera it will be pretty wide like you described at 2.8:1
Anamorphics are meant to work best on open gate cameras (4:3). That way you're getting an aspect ratio that's closer to 2.39:1 For 16:9 cameras you will have to get used to cropping your edges
Great to know man, thank you. I filmed 2 other videos on this lens that day and I'll be cropping in on both of them lol. This aspect ratio was a bit too wide for my liking 😂
@@filmdudejacob I personally went for the 1.33x Sirui since they're at a much lower price now than when they launched; and will be looking into a Blazar Remus lens because those have lots of character when compared to Sirui
Very good point bro. I'm just now realizing that I didn't point out how I did that with this lens. I'll make a #short in the next few days letting you know. Thanks for asking!
Thanks so much bro haha I gotta keep grinding and get more videos out. Hopefully this can be one of those scenarios where you knew someone before they blew up 😆one can hope haha thanks for the watch!
Your Aspect Ratio on this video is 3:1 , even cinema is not that wide. Cinema Aspect Ratio is 2.4:1 . Manny modern Productions (Netflix etc.) are only 2:1 . The good New is that dji has its new Lidar Focus Pro System. With the Lidar you have Autofocus on any Cinema Lens.
Thanks for the enlightenment man, this helps. I've also seen some pretty wide cinema stuff made in the early 2010s, so a little dated but still. I also realized after I edited and posted this that I was shooting at a 17x9 aspect ratio in my R5C, so that expanded it to be even wider when the 1.6 came into effect. You're the kinda person I need to talk to before making technical videos 😆
Also with DJI Lidar, that's great and all but for all intended purposes it makes "budget" anamorphic/cinema lenses another $1k expensive just for autofocus, and if I'm always using it in controlled environment then I don't mind pulling my own focus. But great point, it is definitely there if I ever needed it.
@@filmdudejacob i resently saw the new Sirui anamorphics Saturn, did you allready seen them? They are tiny but Fullframe. I am watching for good Lenses for my new FX3. The new Blazar Remus are also very interesting Anamorphics. Also Nisi Athena Lenses. And yes 1K for Autofocus is heavy but the idea of having it and you can focus on the Framework is good in my Opinion. But i am just starting with Video. Coming from photography.
@@claudio6032 Gotchu. I did see the Saturn line, and I'd be intrigued to see how they perform, especially since they have the neutral flare (the lens in this video is only blue flares and it's fine but something to be aware of). I think personally if you go with Sirui you won't be disappointed. Also heard of several of those other brands as well, heard great things about Blazar too.
Sweet insight dude!! I’ll def have to keep an eye out for that lens!
Thanks bro! Definitely a solid lens!
Great work bro! Keep up the videos 🎉
Hey thanks bro! Will take a while to get on your level but I'm trying 💪
I guess I am one of your earliest subscribers. Keep up with the good work!
For sure, thanks for stopping by! Let me know if there's any specific content you'd like to see that's not already been done 100000 times haha

For sure dude, I love it and will use it for future projects for sure. Definitely a style and I love finding new stylized ways of doing things.

Cool video. So how you figure out with social media problem? 90% of all horizontal videos people want in vertical too.

@@filmdudejacobCan you just tell interested people in comments? 😁 I will forget it in few days hah😂
Ha true true. I'll reply here so you can see when I do it but also you can follow me on Instagram for all updates
Bro your video is so cool and lots of information to learn but why you still have little followers. Keep doing what you’re doing bro, I love it❤️
