- Kaylee May Law has three associate's degrees, a bachelor's degree and a master's degree - all at the age of 19. Now, she's become the youngest ever Asian American elected into public office after being sworn into Walnut City Council. Nicole Comstock reports.
19 years old with a Master Degree. Bravo!!! Please keep faith and be happy.
The government needs to be cut back.
WTF
@@mrleafbeef634 Government spending you mean.
No. This is unnatural and acceptable. It’s a child and a foreigner. It’s weird.
A real life young Sheldon
Everybody watching that now
Seriously 😂
Was waiting for this
Hopefully she has higher plans then becoming a career politician
That's why term limits are so important. We should also have age limits because the human brain isn't done developing until a person is approx 25 years old.
If you pay attention to the segment, she’s planning to go to law school …
She already sunk low to be a politician. She could have been an engineer, scientist, or doctor but sadly she chose this.
We need more politicians like he though.
@@BOMBON187 Way to go, admitting on a public server you basically think politicians should just be idiots because most are idiots. Because that’ll get us far.
I know her mother and she’s such a nice loving lady. She has sacrifice so much for her kids . Congratulations 🎉 here is to many more succes stories in your young live ❤
Right on!!!! She’s accomplished way more than most 40 year olds. To say she’s going places is an understatement. More correctly she’s gone places and will make “places”
Go Kaylee 🎉
Yet most 40-year-olds no more than her. Right on!!!
Education is important but experience is priceless!
Haters gonna hate
Just root for her success
Without EXPERIENCE, education is WORTHLESS
@@vnas2012 no, I'm not rooting for her. Her brain isn't fully developed yet. She has no lived experiences. Period.
She'll learn as she goes.
We have a lot of experience politicians that are experienced in lying and cheating and screwing people over.
Young people built this country in the era before the public American education system.
I wish this bright elected official the best.
@@DerekCully You realize this isn't the 17th and 18th century. That cultural norms and standards influence maturity. You are comparing apples and oranges. Two different times. Degrees just show you know how to complete tasks. That position requires innovation and creativity. Like the kind of people who had life experience to write and create the books that she learned from.
@@hupomeno9035 just glad she getting this experience early, which is a good thing! I she her all the best in her endeavors!
Young adults back then weren’t woke.
@@BlowitAllUp😅😂!
Congratulations! Very huge accomplishment! Don’t sell out!
Represent girl. Be safe & Never let your guard down because Those men around her can be dangerous. Mom & Dad protect & plan out her safety backups. Don’t let anyone break her spirit or dim her light.
Oh the women in offices are much worse than the men haha. Women in work environments can reach satanic levels of depravity and ignorance. A 19 year old that is also physically attractive will be the target of attacks from other women.
Rather, watch out for them women.
You know what I mean 😂
Usually, women tend to hold other women back. Women love to hate on each other, on every level.
Asian American...just say young woman...
hater LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL sure doesn't look black to me!
@@JohnnySin-cp7fz simp
cuz everyone asian in Walnut, dont have to say it
Then why say woman, or even young for that matter??
I guess she's "Eurasian-American" because of her mom.
Congratulations 🎉
You go girl
It's awesome to see more and more young Asian Americans get involved with politics. Too often, we are marginalized in the political arena and I think being involved will change that. Kudos and good luck to the young lady. 🎉🎉
Its great to have new fresh and very committed public servant in this country. Great Job!
She's an American. This is what we expect. Congratulations Dad and Mom!!
She’s Chinese spu
🎈Congrats young Lady, you're on you're way👣👣👣👣 so happy for you...
They say the cerebral cortex doesn’t develop till 25. Which is responsible for judgement and decision making. Yet, people past that age still make bad judgement and stupid decisions. I hope she makes all you old people feel bad, regretful and stuck.
😂😂😂
Remember this comment - you will be old, fat with health issues in what will seem like just a few short years. Truth. Enjoy.
Im sure she wont
I remember being 19...I was extremely smart but my decision making was WAY OFF! I look back at my life and I'm glad no one gave me this amount of power and responsibility at that age.
You sound like the exact people you’re wishing ill will towards. Time to go outside and find some sunshine...
Congratulations girl, you just made History!
At nineteen i was studying for my driver's license.
Lol. Same here bruh.

We need more hardworking, honest and intelligent people like Kaylee Law.
Awesome!!
She was elected primarily because she is a Republican, and former Sheriff Alex Villanueva endorsed her. This community has a deep love and trust in Villanueva.
No wonder people are hating
Ridiculous.. that is a position in which life experience far supercedes any degree.
19 years old is too young to wipe my behind, let alone run a city. Whoever voted for this minor city council is more ignorant than her.
Yeah she needs life experience to go with the education. I'm not too sure about this. But let's see. She's in now.
Welcome Ms. Law City council. Hope Our Walnut city can be better and Police can Patrol every day for Walnut city . That can be lower the crime rate !!!
Amen ,Sister
Good luck to her journey . 😌🙏🏼
Congratulations 👏
Could it be possible that the bar is indeed low? There are a considerable number of highly educated individuals in positions of authority that shouldn't be.
Agree
Could it also be possible that you are blind to new talent this country sorely needs and instead of nurturing it you want to nip it in the bud so that it would never happen? This is why we have the worst people in charge in government because of people like you voting for crap politicians like we have right now.
@@bill-xm7dzhonestly, I think too many Americans are distraught and don’t even care anymore. You could put a 2-year old in office and it still wouldn’t make them hopeful again.
@@bill-xm7dzi just saying, the same thing to myself.
@@bill-xm7dztalent is one thing, but knowing who you represent is something completely different. She maybe smart, but it doesn’t necessarily make you qualified to enact policies based on what your constituents want.
She didnt just set the bar, she is the bar! 👊
At 19, I was living with my mom and hanging around with potheads. Smoking weed and wasting my life away. Now, I'm on government assistance, living with my aunt, and barely have enough pour gas in my car. 🤦♂ She has amazing parents and a great family backbone. God bless her, I hope she becomes US president someday. Congrats, Kaylee May Law!! 🎉
You could have been a success in life but then you got high.
Nice! She inspires me! I'm 29 and have been slacking on applying to law school.
I’m sure she is a smart young lady but she lacks the life experience needed to carry out that position. Sorry.
Haters gonna hate
Just root for her success
‘life experience’ hasn’t exactly worked wonders with the people in charge right now. Maybe it’s time to try something different for a change, someone who can think outside the box. Experience comes with time. Stupid is forever. And we have a lot of stupid people.
Give her a chance. Aren't you the same people who whine about the current leaders in charge failing and demanding change and when that change comes you complain about that too?
You don’t know her personally . You’ll be amazed to talked to her . She has more common sense that many in this comments .
life experience = being good in faking people. We had plenty of those already.
This is what asian parents compare you to.
@@dirtywrx8478 lmao. She set the bar too high for us commoners
To say she is Asian American is not accurate. Her mom is White and dad is Chinese. So she is mix 50/50. Get the headline correct.
Barack Obama's mother is white but the headlines kept saying he is the first African American President or first Black. Since he is 50/50, shouldn't he be the first "gray" president to be accurate?
American education is super easy. All you need to have is consistency and motivation.
Consistency and motivation are not easy for some people. I got bad grades in schools despite getting 99.9% on SAT because I just couldn't sit still and study for more than 30 minutes. School studies were too boring for me, so I skipped many days of school. Don't regret it at all. Bad GPA never stopped me, except for getting rejected at interviews with large companies. That made me open up my own company where I did very well and retired before 50.
Ask the 24 yr with a bachelor's what employees are looking for. Education is great but experience is better
Why is the disgraced ex LA county sheriff swearing her in?
I am wondering the same….what is he doing there…
Age, gender, etc. does not matter. It’s hard work, endurance, grit, and commitment.
Asian are the majority in Walnut. It is a small city of Tiger Moms. My cousin lives there.
Tiger mom or hippopotamus mom. Choose your poison
加油❤️👏👏👏
The real question to ask is what party is she with? Democratic or Republican?
I also wondered this and I looked it up. The results I got said non-partisan, I guess she is independent but personally I think she's a Democrat because it's LA.
Her mentor Eric Ching is Republican.
Villanueva was hated by the progressive left in Los Angeles County and mostly liked by the majority Asian-american Walnut community.
She will be fine.
just because you are smart doesn't mean you are mature. hopefully she tackles issues with reason and maturity rather than ideology and activism seen in her generation. congrats to her none the less.
And it does not mean she has common sense. In most cases smart people don’t have any common sense and they just call people lazy!
@@ArtIsDrawingyup. This is really bad.
at least she won't be stealing money like the white politicians. Don't be so dip sht negative you hill billy
People mature at different ages…so are you saying young people are radicals? Would you rather be one of these young and “radical” people instead of being a convicted (34 times) felon soon to be the president or Biden who didn’t do anything to stop the convicted felon? If anything you should have noticed Villanueva holding the Bible ….
I'll root for this incredibly intelligent young lady. I wish her the best of success in all endeavors.
Go kaylee! Keep soaring higher! 😊❤
Hmm…… being politician??? Does she know what regular people go through everyday life??
Course not. This is a disaster. The powers that be know what they’re doing.
Looks like a mature 30 year old.
She’s a spy
19 is too young
Awesome! Let the young generation rise up 🔥
Congrats to her!! She is going to move up fast ❤ 🎉
Half white Half asian
She’s awesome.
That tells you, some voters have no clue
They're probably woke. They love doing everything unconventionally and then wonder why they fail.
Actually that tells us that the voters are sick and tired of the same people getting shuffled in and out of politics and not making any meaningful progress and decided to make a change for once instead of whining like this OP here.
Geez, give the young person a chance! Select the same old crap and look what you guys get? The orange felon! Enjoy those tariffs!
Brain & Beauty is a rarity and she is on her way make more incredible achievements. Bravo!!! Mom & Dad must be super proud!
Why use the word Asian??? Just American.
Yeah. She's as much is white as is Asian!
Because Asians like to play that game….not only that the mother is not Asian…
No, because Asians aren't wite. Because Asian Americans represents Asian Americans.
The name American has nothing to do with skin color or ethnicity. Technically the name American just simply means people of The Continent of The Americas or of The United States of America.
@@bone3594 sure thing Sherlock
Congratulations!
Nevermind the negative comments just based solely on her age, plenty of elected officials are far less qualified than she is. Not sure if she's a democrat or republican, would have to look into that more, as far as her positions on different issues.
19? She looks 26.
I hope she makes America better with whatever she does
Good Luck!
Too young
Bright, young woman! Congratulations!
Wow, incredible!
Let’s hopes she’s not “woke”
What’re the odds she isn’t? 2 percent?
Good for her, impressive!
A woman with no real world work experience becoming a lifetime politician. What can go wrong.
I know. This has to be reversed next year. This is insane.
Question is…. If she’s fair or a corrupt liberal
Kaylee for future POTUS!!! 🎉
The SGV really becoming the next china 😂
The place where she was elected in nowhere near SGV; it's in Sacramento County. And the SGV has been for the Asian community for over 50 years.
@ 🤣 city of walnut is in the sgv 🤡. The 626 used to be predominantly Latino until all them Chinese started flooding in bro . Demographic shifts are real
@@georgeallen4007 From Mexico to China? So, you were not complaining when Latinos flooded the area? As long as they are Americans, who cares?
@@georgeallen4007 And these areas all got upgraded from ghetto status to higher home values, better schools and less crime. This transition is actually a good thing.
I actually feel bad for Walnut City cancel.
Congrats on being Asian. You're special.
At 19 years old, I was playing video games.
No Idea
She is way too young. The OG criminal politicians will pass her around like chips.
Yup. Extremely problematic.
“Law” was born for the job
Is that really a good idea?
What experience does she have?
Having a good memory doesn't mean that you understand what is good for everyone.
Pretty 19 and highly educated, however, looks and educated alone may NOT be enough for any city.. So far most political parties do NOT see AFFORDABLE housing is most important and to keep youths OUT of trouble is to have sports championships.. or trade schools to prepare them for a good future. Most political parties have NOT worked on a BETTER solution for the HOMELESS and needy ! Instead it is like they rather make a city more beautiful or promote landscaping, this is ok . But when people are very hungry or without a roof over them political parties do NOT know the experience until it happens to them or someone they know.. God help us!! ❤
Next year: 20 year old council member embezzled 2.1 million from the city
Congrats.
Fremont elected an 18 years old for school board.
She came prepared
Definitely keep an eye on her cover her journey there is a story to tell here. Im sure she will fly high serving Walnut community or the country!
Good parents who knew how to recognize her ability and allowed growth and exploration instead of just going with the flow.
You go girl!
She should be in the white house running the country right now. We need more people like her in the country.
She's book smart with no life experience. Innocence makes people gullible
One of the few girls willing to put in the hard work instead of just starting an OF and thinking they are some entrepreneur.
Proud
I remember when politicians were elected because of their experience. What changed?
What kind of experience? Stealing from the public or knowing how to use public funds for self-interest?
@phoso1 usually the ones with no experience become the criminal politicians. I know I live in California.
No, the first factor should be their character; she seems to be raised right. I think you are looking at someone who can do good.
You don’t know her, so don’t judge. She got voted in by her community.
Clout. I applaud her for being smart asf, but you’re talking about policies that affect a city. Being smart helps, but it’s more important to understand your constituents and what they want.
She looks like an honest hapa as opposed to mitski
She is so beautiful inside and outside
Who are her parents?
Awesome 👏🏾
19 year old's lack something, Is is called life experience and wisdom. The fact the she is a woman in California does not change this fact. You are not going to girl power your way out of this one. It does not matter how good she did in school, that is not the same as intelligence.
Nice to see something positive for a change.
What an inspiration, made to America legally
Maybe one day she could be the governor of California.
Just because she's young doesnt mean she has no experience. Most people live over 50 years but havent done anything. Don't let her age fool you. Plus, she knows how to play the "6th-grade-educated-immigrant-grandpa" card. She will be well seasoned in no time
It's not just a "card"; it's a fact. The fact that she grew up in the area and was raised there is a good thing. She has a personal stakes in the area.
Very impressive young woman!
someone please explain why being asian american is relevant here
Dei gayness
This world is so weird. An elected official with zero life experience
So young, plenty of time to get those experience since so many people concern. LOL for concerning citizens, is called work HARD!
