if u call an ambulance in USA to go hospital in emergency life support condition first u need to think if i have $5000 to pay and then u need to think if insurance will pay. This is the kind of business they run

I moved to the states recently and unfortunately started experiencing some health issues. Finding a doctors appointment is pain in the ass, it takes weeks even months. The doctor did nothing but asked me to take Ibuprofen. And I was charged 256 dollars for that even after having an insurance. Then she referred me to a specialist, and now I have got an appointment for 6th March 2025. Can you believe it? India's Healthcare is 100 times better than this.

Don't go to an American hospital unless it is an absolute life or death emergency. You knew that before you ever got here. Take a flight to San Diego, cross the border to Tijuana, and you will get great healthcare at a fraction of the cost. I have heard that you can also fly to Puerto Rico and have a similar experience.

I was born in India and emigrated to the US in 1997. The health care system here is run like a mafia - its capitalism gone crazy. My wife had a complicated pregnancy & had to be hospitalized early. My twin kids were born 2 months early & had to be put in the NICU. The hospital charged *$1.2 million* (about Rs 10 crore) to the insurance company. The insurance company negotiated it down to $800K & refused to pay any more, so I had to bring my kids from the NICU to my house.
I work for a world-class software firm that provides one of the best insurance coverage in the US & my out-of-pocket expenses were $3K. But I often wonder what happens to average Americans who don't have such stellar insurance as mine. And what would happen to jobless people? Its a nightmare.

Most people in the US are actually militant about having murderers pay for their crime, many of us want harsher penalties. The difference here is that this CEO legally got away with a form of murder, by denying claims for real health problems. He caused untold hardships and grief, his job was to be evil & he excelled at it. Our government put him above the law, that is why people like Mangione, not because he's young or cute, but because he got rid of a threat to the safety of millions of US citizens. He didn't attack the messenger, the insurance agent that denied the claims, he attacked the man that set up the system of terror, which is what US Healthcare is.
Most of us aren't capable of doing what Mangione did but we can see the justice in it.

You mentioned that the assassinated CEO has a wife and children. So what? How about the thousands of insured people who died as a result of denial of their health insurance and who left behind grieving spouses and children of their own? There are ongoing court cases of these health insurance companies because of their malpractice. If they are found guilty, aren't their denial of coverage of their clients resulting in their deaths tantamount to mass murder? Isn't this considered criminal? Since there is existing death penalty in the US, shouldn't they also be penalized with death? An ordinary person who commits a heinous crime, which this is, will surely be sentenced to death. But if these health insurance companies are found guilty, which they should be, shouldn't they also be similarly penalized? More likely they won't be. Why you ask? Because they belong to society's 1%. The so-called privileged class. Your mentioning the CEO's family makes you sound like a morally upright person, like some others who said the same thing you did. Compare side by side the family of the murdered CEO and those who died because of health coverage denial.
