The Parfum is different from both the EDT and the EDP. It has more depth and consistency, which also results in better performance. As Aaron said, if you can afford it, it's absolutely worth the money.
Finally picked up a bottle of this the other day after wanting it for ages. I wore it yesterday to work and was still smelling it 7-8 hours later when I got home. I love the parfum version the most. As soon as you smell it you get a tingle at the back of your head. Absolutely orgasmic. No idea why others keep pushing the EDT... it's nice but nothing compared to the parfum. 10/10 for me 👌😍
Do you think it's different enough from the EDP? There's this scratchy feeling that I'm not a fan of from the EDP so I'm wondering if the Parfum is smoother?
@@vincentnguyen3179 yes! The EDP is a slight improvement on the EDT but the Parfum has a lot more sandalwood added making it smoother, warmer yet maintaining its identity as Bleu De Chanel. i have the 3 variations, i got the edt as a xmas gift from a girl i was dating 3 years ago, the bottle is 70% full since it didnt blew my mind at the time i didnt used it as much, a year later i was walking through the fragance section of macys and a lady sprayed the EDP on my wrist and i was blown away, i let it sit there for 20 minutes and i loved the dry down and went ahead and purchased the 150 ml bottle, a year and a half later my edp was almost empty due to the heavy usage i gave it so i went to macys to re-purchase the EDP, before i buy it i wanted to try the new parfum and once i did i was as TWICE as blown away as the first time that lady sprayed the EDP on me, it is the most sophisticated, well rounded, woody, classy, sexy version of BDC and any designer fragance ive ever smelled in my life so i got the 100ml bottle, no reason to buy the edt, edp and PARFUM are the best variations, parfum being the best smelling and best longevity, and edp being the best projecting, edt? EHHHH.
@ edp: sillage is average, but it projects more than the parfum but that projection lasts 2-3 hours , after that u get another 4 hours of low projection and people will still notice your scent, total 6-7 hours of performance, after that it becomes a very subtle and powdery/woody skin scent, i like it. parfum: powerfull sillage from beggining to end, it might project less than the edp but unlike the edp the parfum projection stays more consistent and linear for a longer period of time , your scent bubble will last 8-9 hours with 6 sprays, ive tested them side by side many times. i hope this helps, if i were you ill get both, edp for the day, parfum for the night, which smells better? parfum, but the edp is amazing aswell, it all comes down to which one suits your needs, if you want better longevity (8-9 hours ) and strong sillage the parfum is hands down your best bet, if you want a scent that projects strongly for the first 3 hours and a average projection get the edp.

The understanding that there is a difference between personal taste and respect/appreciation for the workmanship is a concept I feel so many totally do not grasp in many areas of life.
@@AaronTerenceHughes There is something is music that I suspect holds true here as well. When I write a song, I'm not the one fully in control - the song is. eg, I hate bluegrass, but I had one song that absolutely *required* a banjo for one melody. This turned the violin I already added into a fiddle.. not comfortable territory for me. However, it's what was called for and so that's what I did. I imagine there is a similar mindset in your field where your own personal taste tries not to occlude your view of what is most appropriate for a project.
I bought this a while back based on this review. Man was it a good blind buy. Months on, still my favourite. I feel super confident wearing this. Also, very much under the radar here in South Africa, so I haven't smelled it on any other person yet. Here in South Africa men wear, Old Spice, Dior Savauge, Million Dollar and Axe. Pretty much that 😅
@@IanJamesBeats they are definitely different, Parfum is slightly sweeter and more woody, also perfoms much better than EDP. I had both , sold EDP only keeping Parfum for life 😉

After your review and actually sampling it on my skin, I had to go back and get it. Performance is perfect, all day for me with just 3 sprays. I might've became nose blind with my ADG Profumo but it lost its performance. BDC Parfum is my new fragrance.
So after being disappointed with Bleu EDP's projection and radiance for about a month on this recommendation I made the drive last night to visit a larger town with a department store to find this beauty. I am very pleased!

As soon as I saw the thumbnail of this video I applied 2 sprays to the back of my hand and followed your journey!! I'm not sure when I will ever be back in the office due to COVID but this was as "dumb" of a reach as I could get for an office fragrance! I turn nose-blind to it within an hour or so but I do pick up whiffs here and there through the day so I imagine others can smell it, too. Spot on assessment of how fresh this is but is backed up with a dark/mysterious backbone.
I remember trying this at the store and sprayed a shot on my wrist. Gave it a sniff and thought, "Meh, pretty nice but nothing earth shattering." Went about my business and gave it another sniff 20 minutes into the dry down and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I was mesmerized and blown away by what it evolved into. Just luxurious and heavenly. Had to turn around and get a bottle on the spot. Still a fave in my collection, probably always will be. If you're trying it for the first time brace yourself for the incoming dry down, you'll definitely swallow the hook.
Thank you saying ambroxan. I had the BDC edt and I felt like it had a light amount of ambroxan but never heard a person say it, everything was about how natural it is.

The BDC edp got me into fragrance and I love that fragrance, this review has peaked my interest in the parfum but hope you review the edp in the future. Good review
Have you smelled Chanel Allure Homme? It is from 1999 by the perfumer of this' father. There is some brilliance in that one where it is an oriental but all the fresh notes that counter it are perfectly chosen and placed in an interesting way
I don’t know why people compare the EDP to the Parfum when I think they are similar but completely different from each other.. the EDP is a better more “modernized” version of the EDT while the Parfum is in its own class. Parfum is better and I’m happy I picked up the big bottle. Still bounce back to the EDT here and there but love the Parfum
Great review and analysis. I’ve had all 3 versions. I bought the EDT several years ago. It had the wow factor, but I thought it was too much for an office environment. I then tried the EDP…it’s more woodier and has a lovely trail. I bought the Parfum recently. It’s darker and more complex. It’s a beautiful scent, but it doesn’t project as well as the other versions. I guess it’s more of a subtle rather than a “I’m here, everyone” fragrance and that can be appealing to some.
This is one of my favourites and certainly my favourite of the three from my experience most people go for the EDT so it's great for me! Nice to hear your thoughts great review!
Most of the crowd pleasers I get bored with at some point and come back to a few years later. That simply hasn't happened with BdC Parfum. My long term review is that this is a standout masterpiece and I'm glad I got the bucket bottle.
@@izzyhuppert6562 the parfum is deeper, richer, more woody and complex while the EDP is fresher with a woody backbone. The EDT is much more a fresh, blue fragrance. I have all three but I find recent formulations of the EDT rather bland and generic, so it's either of the other two for me now.

I'm on my third bottle and it's price is going up. I'm disappointed that Chanel stopped making the aftershave balm to go with the line and replaced it with the lotion. The Bleu de Chanel aftershave balm was far better in my opinion and wish they wouldn't have discontinued it. I actually wrote them, but received no reply.

Thank you for the very sophisticated analysis on this fragrance. I just chose it over EDP, do you think the Parfum still has adequate versatility? Can it be worn pretty much anytime?
I just came across your channel and love your videos. You are the only fragrance content creator that really breaks down the notes from a chemists’ perspective and I really appreciate that. BDC Parfum was my gateway fragrance a few years ago, but I will say the performance on my skin has always been poor. I have to spray about 8 times, including my collar/clothes to get 3+ hours out of it. I wonder based on your experience, when people talk about skin chemistry, how does dry vs oily skin affect longevity of a fragrance? I would imagine oilier skin would result in better performance. Interested if you have a take on that.
The Blue De chanel and more the EDP version I think is quite similar in depth to the armani code. It is as they have taken it and developed it. I would like your opinion on this suspicion of mine.
Great review Aaron...this is my go-to fragrance and my tie breaker when I can't decide...you just can't go wrong with BLEU DE CHANEL Parfum...always puts a smile on my face and the people around me. To me it's a masterclass fragrance regardless of the brands mass appeal...10/10 and you nailed it! So all of you penny pinchers out there...save your money and get the Eau de Toilette please...lol
Fun fact Bleu de Chanel was first created by Jacques Polge in 2010 and now the classic has been updated by his son Olivier Polge. The original is arguably my signature fragrance among designers and I am almost out of it and wanted to buy a back up bottle, I was always torn between the EDP and the Parfum thanks Aaron for clearing all my doubts!! Love from India
Yes Bleu de Channel EDP is a masterpiece , because am so deceapointed about the EDT doesn't last on me anymore. Great review 👍 dear professor ATH 👨🏻🎓 🏆
The difference between Aaron and Jeremy is Aaron actually breaks down the fragrance and isn't just doing it for views. Aaron is actually passionate about it and doesn't just have a bunch of fragrances on a shelf. He doesn't push fragrances onto you. Jeremy's videos are boring now. If you've seen one you've seen them all so to speak. Can watch aarons all day. Also aaron is a perfumer so he understands how its bein put together and why they've chosen the scents they did to make it. Jeremy has just jumped on the band wagon
jeremys channel does not target people like us, it targets the casual perfume wearer who wants compliments, his content is way more broad that only carering to us fragheads-nichefans, he knows a lot about notes, i dont think he is nowhere near as good as aaron when it comes to breaking down the fragances, but just like i said before, he targets casual wearers, aaron is for people like you and me, jeremy was, is and will be the door for people to get into fragances, 🙌🏻✌🏻.
I would never push a fragrance onto anyone. You can not buy me. I will never do sponsored. I will always tell you what I think. I never watch any other fragrance channels so I will not tell you want other reviewers are thinking
I tested this Parfum fragrance in a store, Boscovs...and LOVED it!!! Bought a full size Parfum bottle at Bloomingdales...and I hate it. Nothing but lemon lemon lemon...it never transitions to any other note...but hellish LEMON. Maybe this bottle needs to age for a year like the bottle I first tested...i don't know. This is expensively disappointing.
It’s a great smelling fragrance but the projection and sillage disappears quicker then i Anticipated and for a fragrance that is expensive I expect way more.
It's smells amazing and a great compliment getter, but not worth the price simply because you have to seriously overspray to get noticed or else it's a skin scent. Plus the longevity is ok, but the projection is horrible. The EDP performs much better on my husband and the EDT is average, but still stronger than Parfum. Albeit this is one of the sexiest smelling mens fragrances I've ever put my nose on no doubt about that.
I prefer the edt over the edp to me it smells cleaner and much fresher and performs better. I have all Chanel collection except the parfum and do agree about the price however, I’ve not smelt the parfum as of yet. I tend to buy 3/4 fragrances a month so I’ll possibly just buy 2 and purchase the parfum version since you mentioned it’s an attractive fragrance.
@@mrblonde7462 yes it smells fantastic. Way better than any of the Sauvage line for sure. The performance is just an issue, but I suppose if you do a CurlyFragrance style 14 sprays you will be set for a whole workday. @@mrblonde7462 if you do I'd go for the EDP. It's not as common as the EDT and smells much classier like something a business man would wear as opposed to a teenager like the EDT.
Where can you get it at those prices lol. I paid 128 for 100ml 4 days ago. Blind buy and it's clearly quality. My mum only wore Chanel number 5 so I grew up with that smell and as soon as I put it on I felt her presence in a way. There's a kind of lipstick essence in Chanel perfume and I smell it in this. But only problem is its not very long lasting. Made me 😔. 2 hours later it was gone. Was a really windy day though and I was outside for the whole day so maybe that's to blame 🤷♂️

i hope this helps, if i were you ill get both, edp for the day, parfum for the night, which smells better? parfum, but the edp is amazing aswell, it all comes down to which one suits your needs, if you want better longevity (8-9 hours ) and strong sillage the parfum is hands down your best bet, if you want a scent that projects strongly for the first 3 hours and a average projection get the edp.
@ no problem! glad it helps, these are amazing scents, masterpieces.
yep edt is trash, i feel sorry for anyone who owns it and not the parfum or the edp.
@@frankieg6662 Hi ! Can u explain how u spray six spray bcoz me too not getting better performance from Parfum thanks. ( Got both EDP and Parfum tried both EDP last long )
"If I wasn't me" I would like it..lol, hilarious wording. 🤣 Totally perfect comment that shows you are both an artist and a craftsperson. The understanding that there is a difference between personal taste and respect/appreciation for the workmanship is a concept I feel so many totally do not grasp in many areas of life.
100% I can appreciate the work of a perfumer. Even if its not for me. This is a great price. A perfectly built fragrance,
@@AaronTerenceHughes There is something is music that I suspect holds true here as well.
Another great review ! Kinda wishing you’ve also reviewed the EDP version too
Yeah and then I want him to do like key points on EDT, EDP and Parfum, situations where each of them shines best !
Maybe one day!
@@AaronTerenceHughes soooooon
WOW! 10/10, wasn’t expecting that! 😱
Need to try this...
Thanks for the review Aaron. 🙏
LOL!
Aaron is a great salesperson!
My pleasure. Thank you for watching
It is an incredible fragrance, you always feel great wearing a Chanel
I bought this a while back based on this review. Man was it a good blind buy. Months on, still my favourite. I feel super confident wearing this. Also, very much under the radar here in South Africa, so I haven't smelled it on any other person yet. Here in South Africa men wear, Old Spice, Dior Savauge, Million Dollar and Axe. Pretty much that 😅
I loved watching Jeremy. But he contradicts himself every week. Aaron is a perfumer- this adds more clarity. He just gets it.
I would love to see your review on the EDP as well and the difference between it and the Parfum ❤️
I went and smelled both the edp and the parfum and I couldn’t tell a difference to be honest. I am a noob though so yeah
@@IanJamesBeats the big difference would probably be in the performance
@@IanJamesBeats they are definitely different, Parfum is slightly sweeter and more woody, also perfoms much better than EDP. I had both , sold EDP only keeping Parfum for life 😉
I was considering the Parfum. Really nice to get an actual perfumer's take on fragrances.
ATH you are amazing! I just received Goddess, Violet Delirium, and Fake (thank you for the added bonus). Each fragrance is so beautiful and sophisticated. I’m beyond happy! And I’m looking forward to discovering more of your scents. :)
That’s very kind of you to say. Goddess is changing its name as a lot of men like it(including me). But will still be the same
One of my all time faves!! I’m glad you finally gave out a perfect 10! 💯
After your review and actually sampling it on my skin, I had to go back and get it. Performance is perfect, all day for me with just 3 sprays. I might've became nose blind with my ADG Profumo but it lost its performance. BDC Parfum is my new fragrance.
Great job I love how you review fragrances. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the parfum myself. The 5oz is about 195.00 that's alot to me.
Love your videos mate
So after being disappointed with Bleu EDP's projection and radiance for about a month on this recommendation I made the drive last night to visit a larger town with a department store to find this beauty. I am very pleased!
Definitely this has very luxurious vibes
Best review I’ve watched on the bdc parfum! Also watched your other uploads :)) And this is just *chef’s kiss! Absolutely love rewatching this over and over again 👏🏼
*GAWD I love your voice & personality Aaron! Please keep going hard with whatever you're pursuing in life and making videos!!*
*Btw, i noticed that the base of Bleu is actually their 1993 frag Egoist (Notorious BIG's signature frag that he was obsessed about).*
I just bought a bottle. Blind. So many good reviews on this, moreover your review really convinced me🙏
If Aaron gives it the seal of approval, it's a winner for me. Even blind buys.
Love this channel, because the depths Aaron goes in to describing things to us.
This is beautiful scent bro. I want it in my collection. I love the edt and it’s very nice. Absolutely amazing 😉 review Sir Aaron
My pleasure
the parfum is a thousand times better than the edt, in each and every aspect.
Brilliant review. I’m looking forward to trying it and comparing it to the EDP.
What were your observations?
Aaron's reviews are amazing! I am confident enough to either buy or not a fragrance solely based on his review!!! Superb description of the smell as it evolves after spraying.
Good afternoon from North Carolina, enjoyed your take on BDC PARFUM as I own this and wear this often as my CHURCH SOTD, be safe and BLESSED
This is for me the best perfume ever (until I find another one), not only because of the scent but, the joy it brings to me and the memories it makes me go through.
Which memories? It was developed very recently 😁
@@iakobkv271 he referes to the BDC DNA, which was formulated back in 2010, you know exactly what he meant :)
@@iakobkv271 and 2018 is not very recently , thats 3 years, enough to feel nostalgia, just like i miss the girl i was dating that year, you should let people express themselves
@@frankieg6662 chill dude 😂 and no i am expecting parfum not edp on parfum video. Also a little bit teasing is not bad
quarantine memories
I never wanted to wear the same fragrances my children wear, but this is an exception. I just bought it!
I love this. Thank you for watching
Aaron, I really enjoy your reviews. You have an authenticity that other reviewers lack.
I’ve been waiting on you to do this one, finally!
So happy with this review! I really think that the Parfum version is by far the best.
I think Aaron is genuine in his characteristics during his analysis. I really want to buy some of his collections.
Worth every penny.
Thank you saying ambroxan. I had the BDC edt and I felt like it had a light amount of ambroxan but never heard a person say it, everything was about how natural it is.
Thank you for the review my friend, I buy it recently and I really like it. Regards from Chile!
The perfumer watched your last bleu review. And nervously lovingly created this updated new creation to get the blessing
Wonderful!
I just bought the parfum and omg is so good. Im mad at the lady that works for ysl who distracted me from smelling this earlier. Glad i went back to smell it and it is worht it. Get the parfum. Anyone that says theyre the same theyre not. Im not a fragrance snob, buy im very happy with my purchase. Lets see how it goes when i try it.
HEADION from "IFF"is your regular jasmine note with your average ISOMERS"vol used most of Designer perfumes where "HEADION HIGH CIS"is from "FIRMINISH"with high(70%)isomers vol and has effect of Mongolia blossom.way more expensive and used in HIGH CLASS perfumes✌️
The BDC edp got me into fragrance and I love that fragrance, this review has peaked my interest in the parfum but hope you review the edp in the future. Good review
Parfum is so well balanced and has definitely got an edge over edp
Have you smelled Chanel Allure Homme? It is from 1999 by the perfumer of this' father. There is some brilliance in that one where it is an oriental but all the fresh notes that counter it are perfectly chosen and placed in an interesting way
I don’t know why people compare the EDP to the Parfum when I think they are similar but completely different from each other.. the EDP is a better more “modernized” version of the EDT while the Parfum is in its own class. Parfum is better and I’m happy I picked up the big bottle. Still bounce back to the EDT here and there but love the Parfum
My signature sent, the best version of Bleu de chanel
I agree
@AaronTerenceHughes No lie your tattoos with clean cut in black gives me a masculine Tom Ford fragrance guy
That holds value.
Awesome review. You've provided the assessment that this fragrance deserves. Bravo!
This is one of my favourites and certainly my favourite of the three from my experience most people go for the EDT so it's great for me! Nice to hear your thoughts great review!
Perfumer review vs john doe review is like exosphere vs mantle. Love you man! Keep up the good work!
Would love it if you would review the EDP as well and would compare the both of them!
Wish to see the edp version too!
Perhaps maybe one video where u compare all 3???
Love ya aaron🥰
Most of the crowd pleasers I get bored with at some point and come back to a few years later. That simply hasn't happened with BdC Parfum. My long term review is that this is a standout masterpiece and I'm glad I got the bucket bottle.
Are there noticeable differences between the Parfum and the EDP?
@@izzyhuppert6562 the parfum is deeper, richer, more woody and complex while the EDP is fresher with a woody backbone. The EDT is much more a fresh, blue fragrance. I have all three but I find recent formulations of the EDT rather bland and generic, so it's either of the other two for me now.
Kindve doing that w Sauvage edp. Caught a 200ml last year for Black Friday for under $100 and have barely worn it
@@blankmandastankman I feel you. To my nose, it's overly synthetic, not enough transition or subtlety. Each to their own though.
@@time4jesus baccarat is kindve the same way. Such a great aroma yet so linear, no transition, nothing lol. 💯 in The compliment department tho so I guess it weighs out
I have the edt and have been waiting to try the parfume , I finally got to try it last week and totally agree on everything you’ve perfectly described, it has everything the edt was missing 💯
love your reviews 10/10 😉
His review is fabulously raw and very informative.
One of my favorites ever!
Nice review Aaron! Can you tell if this is suitable for the summer? or would the EDP be better for that purpose?
I have the big bottle of EDP, maybe I can't wait to get the parfum. Watch out wallet! But ever since I tried my first ATH (maverick) I feel like I want to try them all. 😬🦄👍🏻
Now you really have me interested in this one since I really like your taste. I already have the EDT but I will have to add this one to the list.
It's far too strong. I wouldn't buy unless you like to fill the room
Good choice!
Hi mate new follower here.. bought this today 150 quid for the big bottle lovely stuff not the biggest projector but I knew that before buying stays on the skin for a good 4 hours for me which is good enough as it smells amazing.. love your videos 😁
Hi Aaron. Thank you for your reviews. Your energy and video production make me very happy and I feel like I learn a lot.
Looking forward to trying some of your fragrances when the restock comes :) wishing you the best and good health.
Please review Givenchy Gentlemen EDP, would love to hear your thoughts...
I literally just got this 2 days ago... easily my favorite scent of all time. No more than 3 sprays - only 1 in the front of the neck or you will be easily overwhelmed
I got my nose on it for the first time two weeks ago. I have had the EDP for awhile, but once I tried the Parfum I couldn't get it out of my head.
Absolutely. It smells classier and more luxurious. @@jimlittle5769
went shopping today and sampled the parfum and totally won over, have the edt version and this blows it out of the water.
My signature scent these days. Have the EdP too, but i personally prefer this. It really is brilliant.
Finally, someone has the same thought with me, it’s a totally different perfume from EDT/EDP
I needed 1 min to like this guy and he is my favorite parfumer on TH-cam .Miles ahead of Jeremy .I admire his job ,he is passionate ,enthusiastic and has a unique way to explain things .
P.S.Blue de Chanel DNA is my favorite
you can't compare a clown to a real chemist. ;)
@@dzingunyte couldn’t be further from the truth
He's a professional perfumer, Jeremy is not. that's the difference =P
A Real Perfumer reviewing fragrances. been burnt out of the energetic compliment king reviewers. selling snake oil. very refreshing thank you
The Blue De chanel and more the EDP version I think is quite similar in depth to the armani code.
HAHA
Fun fact Bleu de Chanel was first created by Jacques Polge in 2010 and now the classic has been updated by his son Olivier Polge. The original is arguably my signature fragrance among designers and I am almost out of it and wanted to buy a back up bottle, I was always torn between the EDP and the Parfum thanks Aaron for clearing all my doubts!! Love from India
Thank you for watching.
Yes Bleu de Channel EDP is a masterpiece , because am so deceapointed about the EDT doesn't last on me anymore.
Great review 👍 dear professor ATH 👨🏻🎓 🏆
He wasn’t talking about the EDP, the Parfum is what was featured
@@masonklein thanks for the information, I appreciate 👍
he is talking about the PARFUM, not the edt... the edp and edt are way inferior compared to the parfum:)
I couldn't agree more with you. The Parfum is significantly more effective and enjoyable than the EDP.
Hey Aaron your videos and past ones are incredible, super intriguing
Hey Aaron,
you have to try Xerjoff - Oud Stars Alexandria II.
The best Parfum in my opinion. So wonderful ✨
Greetings from Germany✌🏼
Great to hear you take on this! I wish it lasted longer!
Please Test Chanel Allure homme Edition Blanche edp :) Great Video
Only problem is this fragrance is ridiculously expensive and never found discounted. It's no Mont Blanc Legend Spirit where you can just shower yourself In it because it's so cheap lol.
@@winnienguyen4420 Sauvage is one fragrance I’ve never bought maybe because it’s to popular however I may buy just to add to my collection
@@mrblonde7462 if you do I'd go for the EDP. It's not as common as the EDT and smells much classier like something a business man would wear as opposed to a teenager like the EDT.
@@winnienguyen4420 I curly scents spray my Bleu de Channel Parfum fragrance and it performs very well.
A 10 ?? Wow, that means a LOT coming from you. Wonderful review.
