You're the 3rd or 4th youtuber who I've watched doing an unboxing video with plants given from Aroid Market, they're obviously in the middle of a heavy marketing campaign - which is fair enough, if thats what works for them! I have to say though, you seem to have been the one who was most blessed by the whims of the shipping gods! I think everyone else had at least one or two plants that had suffered some obvious damage - more than needing a little root trimming - due to the temperature fluctuations experienced during shipping, especially if there were unexpected delays, and one even had to have plants resent, as I remember. Those plants look fantastic! I need to look up some of those philodendrons as I've never heard of them. I really loved the Florida Beauty, I definitely prefer it to the Florida Ghost. That anthurium is stunning as well, actually they all are! I want to also add my vote to those asking for follow-ups on how you potted them up and how you rehabbed them to your home environment. It will be really helpful and very educational for those of us who have never done anything like that before!

Hi! Not sure if somebody already mentioned this in the comments, but you probably have to chop the Monstera Karstenianum (Peru) as it is pushing a runner. Regular green ones are super slow growers, and the variegated ones would be slower. It will easily be few weeks to even few months after your chop for the plant to activate a node, but once it does, then it'll grow at a good pace. You could prop the runners in moss. Good luck.

holy moly they're expensive. at least $20 more per starter plant and some of the mature plants up to a hundred plus dollars more then the 5 shops I normally use. I hope they stay healthy and are worth it.

The “white tiger” is a marketing name. Pink princess “black cherry” is the same. It’s a pink princess. They tissue cultured the highly variegated pink princess for a better batch of plants. The “black cherry” is a marketing name. You can also find them under Galaxy,bubble gum and a host of other names. Pink princess do get dark burgundy patches here and there and the foliage does appear very dark as it matures and is in the right lighting situation. Karstenianum = kar sten ee AY num. Common name = Monstera Peru. I’ve seen a lot a people complain about the variegation “melting”. But it is usually when there are large patches of variegation like ‘half moons’ or if the variegation isn’t surrounded by a bit of green. I hope you have better luck. Even if it turns out to be a Melano-crisis 2.0 type of situation…we’ll still learn from it. Good luck with your new gorgeous plant babies.
I ordered quite a few plants from these guys and had a lot of issues (In the US) Held at customs twice, tons of melted and root rotted plants, multiple failed replacement orders :( To their credit they did issue partial refunds and try, but definitely proceed with caution.

I'm with you on the Florida Beauty. I have a Florida Ghost, just a baby, that I got off Facebook Marketplace. She's growing at a snails pace because all her leaves are white. I keep her under a grow light. Fantastic fun to watch the babies grow. ❤ 😊

They sent you really expensive plants. The plants arrived in better shape than I´d expect after 2 weeks. I hope the plants, esp. their roots, are doing fine - please make an update later on how they are doing. I´m only little suprised that you didn´t put them right into water, but probably we only didn´t see that.
I’m glad this shop sent you all those beautiful healthy plants (I skipped a heart beat when I saw the filo florida.. 🥰). The same day I opened my rare snake plant bundle I got from eBay for £13+small postage fee 😍 For the same price i paid for the snakes I would buy aroids too but i must admit i checked the Asian website and that shop is highly overpriced. ( think they travelled from Yorkshire , and I'm on the south coast) better off ordering from Asia, as long as it's not the yodelling lot.

I've ordered from them I'm I'm canada things went well Before you repot anything put them in water for a few days at least to rehydrate the roots you'll have far better luck acclimating them that way Sometimes there is a decline but 90% of the time they bounce back well They are lovely Enjoy the adventure 😊
The karstenianum otherwise called “Peru” is a gorgeous plant. Slower growing and don’t like to be overwatered. You can tell by the leaves that they hold their water longer than a typical monstera. They need a good amount of light or else they will put out runners (it looks like you have one now) but I prefer to trim those back and hope for more branching off. It’s one of my most favourite plants in my collection!
I see your box was inspected by UK customs/Defra, looks like they re-packaged the items they inspected quite well😊. But have you received the VAT invoice yet that the shipping courier will charge you, having paid the 20%VAT on the value of the plants on your behalf?😮

I should add that, for the US, I've had good luck with two orders for plants from Home Depot online. I got a Jasminium sabac and a Philodendron birkin at good prices and both plants arrived in excellent shape and were as pictured. The selection of house plants is much greater than you'll find in the store and in both cases shipping was free. I would also mention Lowe's. In the store they have a small section of $2.50 plants. They're just rooted cuttings, and the selection is limited to the fairly common types. These mostly come unlabeled except for generic "green foliage plant' although most are readily recognizable. I'm fine with these, as a lot of the pleasure for me is watching the babies grow and thrive (well, usually.) They also have a 'hospital' section with distressed plants, in many cases they just need a good drink and some TLC. Years ago it seemed you could find common houseplants being sold almost everywhere, but now, not so much. If the Ikea store in my area was closer, and easier to get to, I'd try there. Ikea doesn't seem to be interested in online sales, however. Anyone else got tips for where to find pushers...er....retailers for houseplants? Got to keep the monkey happy!
I just received my Monstera Delicioso that I ordered through Target. A Glorious specimen, about 3 feet tall, with beautiful adult leaves approximately 12 inches wide. There's 2 well developed plants in the 9 inch grower's pot it arrived in. There is 1 leaf that snapped at it's base that appears to be holding its own. There are 2 new leaves that have about 1/8 rot damage- assuming from humidity/darkness of transit. They were almost completely unfurled when it arrived. All in all, saying I'm pleased with the purchase would be a gross understatement. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again in the future.
Hello, fellow plant lovers. I want to mention that I have purchased many a very happy and healthy plant from Facebook's Marketplace. I've even found one that will ship to me! I've gotten five or six wonderfully healthy babies from her. All in all, very good prices. Price above your budget? Move on to the next one. The selection of plants is amazing. Keep an eye out regularly because the plant you skipped over because the price was too high will likely be found shortly down the road at a much better price. 😊 ❤
Here in Texas, we have an average of 1-2 months, twice a year of good weather to have plants shipped to us. Otherwise, it’s close or below freezing or sweltering hot. Heat packs sometimes work, but with the way delivery services handle the boxes, they can do more damage than they help. Glad you had a great experience!!!! Update in a few months?!?!?!?!
i feel excited while watching coz i've never tried ordering plants online or having plants shipped to me. i dunno, i feel bad for plants wrapped and cramped in a dark box. i always go to a garden or plant stores when i want to get some. i'm glad your plants fared very well considering the length of travel, ID to UK.
Good to see that you've got some more Philodendron in the collection. That Florida Beauty is just that! Another stunner (imo) to consider is Dieffenbachia 'Reflector', it's another that looks luminescent in certain light.

Explored their website. They have a lot of plants that aren't super-expensive, but there's a catch...(isn't there always?)....Shipping costs. Now, I get it. There's a lot of expensive customs stuff around international plant shipping, and of course, you can't ship via slow boat, so the shipping charges are high. A $40 plant was going to cost another $40 for shipping....and that's way above my financial pain threshold. Sad, 'cause I'd love to get some of these really nice plants....but either I've got to hit the lotto or some unknown rich relative is going to have to leave me a fortune. Maybe I could start my own plant channel on TH-cam, then get promos from....Nah! Let Mr. Sheffield do all the work....he's earned the occasional big score.
The Monstera karstenenianum (or something) has another name, which is monstera peru (much easier to say) I live in Thailand now and i picked up one of these for 25 baht. I just threw it outside in a pot and it thrived so well that i went back and got 2 more. Beautiful leaves and easy care!

Just seeing the title made me think about how a lot of old trees ended up cut down all over the place here with the possible infestation of the emerald ash borer, an insect native to NE Asia. 😲
Those are gorgeous plants! It seems that the company knew what you'd like. I was excited to rescue a store plant today and it's hopefully on its way back to life again. It's an annual, but I'm keeping it indoors as a houseplant. It's got thicker, waxy leaves like the zz, and it has vines that flower, so we'll see how long it lasts. First time bottom watering, too, just to rehydrate it because I could tell that it needs a larger pot and also seems hydrophobic.
Checked out their website, (your discount code is definitely working btw), found some plants for a good price but I'm just not ready to pay $43 shipping unless the order is at least $600. I will have to settle for watching the progress of your aroid plants. 😊

Only one of them had some rot on the roots. I've since read it's fairly common with importing

Sadly, we can't order plants from OS in Australia. There would be far more than "a few hoops". We often can't even send them interstate.

I should add that, for the US, I've had good luck with two orders for plants from Home Depot online. I got a Jasminium sabac and a Philodendron birkin at good prices and both plants arrived in excellent shape and were as pictured.
The selection of house plants is much greater than you'll find in the store and in both cases shipping was free.
I would also mention Lowe's. In the store they have a small section of $2.50 plants. They're just rooted cuttings, and the selection is limited to the fairly common types. These mostly come unlabeled except for generic "green foliage plant' although most are readily recognizable. I'm fine with these, as a lot of the pleasure for me is watching the babies grow and thrive (well, usually.) They also have a 'hospital' section with distressed plants, in many cases they just need a good drink and some TLC.
Years ago it seemed you could find common houseplants being sold almost everywhere, but now, not so much. If the Ikea store in my area was closer, and easier to get to, I'd try there. Ikea doesn't seem to be interested in online sales, however.
Anyone else got tips for where to find pushers...er....retailers for houseplants? Got to keep the monkey happy!

I just received my Monstera Delicioso that I ordered through Target. A Glorious specimen, about 3 feet tall, with beautiful adult leaves approximately 12 inches wide. There's 2 well developed plants in the 9 inch grower's pot it arrived in. There is 1 leaf that snapped at it's base that appears to be holding its own. There are 2 new leaves that have about 1/8 rot damage- assuming from humidity/darkness of transit. They were almost completely unfurled when it arrived. All in all, saying I'm pleased with the purchase would be a gross understatement. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again in the future.
Hello, fellow plant lovers. I want to mention that I have purchased many a very happy and healthy plant from Facebook's Marketplace. I've even found one that will ship to me! I've gotten five or six wonderfully healthy babies from her. All in all, very good prices. Price above your budget? Move on to the next one. The selection of plants is amazing. Keep an eye out regularly because the plant you skipped over because the price was too high will likely be found shortly down the road at a much better price. 😊 ❤

Here in Texas, we have an average of 1-2 months, twice a year of good weather to have plants shipped to us. Otherwise, it’s close or below freezing or sweltering hot. Heat packs sometimes work, but with the way delivery services handle the boxes, they can do more damage than they help. Glad you had a great experience!!!! Update in a few months?!?!?!?!

i feel excited while watching coz i've never tried ordering plants online or having plants shipped to me. i dunno, i feel bad for plants wrapped and cramped in a dark box. i always go to a garden or plant stores when i want to get some. i'm glad your plants fared very well considering the length of travel, ID to UK.

Another stunner (imo) to consider is Dieffenbachia 'Reflector', it's another that looks luminescent in certain light.

Explored their website. They have a lot of plants that aren't super-expensive, but there's a catch...(isn't there always?)....Shipping costs.
Now, I get it. There's a lot of expensive customs stuff around international plant shipping, and of course, you can't ship via slow boat, so the shipping charges are high.
A $40 plant was going to cost another $40 for shipping....and that's way above my financial pain threshold.
Sad, 'cause I'd love to get some of these really nice plants....but either I've got to hit the lotto or some unknown rich relative is going to have to leave me a fortune.
Maybe I could start my own plant channel on TH-cam, then get promos from....Nah! Let Mr. Sheffield do all the work....he's earned the occasional big score.

The Monstera karstenenianum (or something) has another name, which is monstera peru (much easier to say) I live in Thailand now and i picked up one of these for 25 baht. I just threw it outside in a pot and it thrived so well that i went back and got 2 more. Beautiful leaves and easy care!

Just seeing the title made me think about how a lot of old trees ended up cut down all over the place here with the possible infestation of the emerald ash borer, an insect native to NE Asia. 😲

I was excited to rescue a store plant today and it's hopefully on its way back to life again. It's an annual, but I'm keeping it indoors as a houseplant. It's got thicker, waxy leaves like the zz, and it has vines that flower, so we'll see how long it lasts. First time bottom watering, too, just to rehydrate it because I could tell that it needs a larger pot and also seems hydrophobic.
