      +Leonie Lyall If you want to make a difference with water issues in CA and elsewhere, push the State & Federal Regulators to do a better job managing permits and demand improved state of the art infrastructure,The old water lines throughout CA (also in other States) are losing 20% of the water to leaks. That is far more water than anything this video is discussing.

      +Johnny Eights Please, are you of those people scared of chemicals? Being rat poison means nothing (nothing can be an exageration but it's definitely non conclusive), it's just has too much of it for a rat, quantity and concentration is the thing (of course there are thing that accumulate easier in the body). Even too much water can kill you. Or chocolate is poison for dogs, so are you going to stop eating chocolate for that reason? You can clearly read that there is a recomendated maximun and that for this tipe of distribution you usually don't use full dose.
      As similar we cna be with rats we are still not the same, also it's naturally at diferent doses, normally low at rivers and lakes but that can be risky by itself in some groundwater. If you comtinue responding I would gladly expand my comment in other close areas as ion concentrations on water and "waste product" as I don't want to make this much longer.

    This video makes me angry and sad at the same time. I despise Nestlé and have boycotted them for years, but more people need to do the same. However, the Forestry Service are guilty of gross negligence and should be taken to task by the Governor of California for allowing Nestlé to continue to steal a national resource 18 years after their license expired.
    I would also suggest that it might be helpful to the cause if that very accessible pipeline sprung a few leaks! *ahem*

    It is blatantly obvious that the Forest Service in charge of the permits are personally receiving money from Nestle. Look up these official's publicly listed annual salary and then investigate their possessions. Does it match? Are they driving a car or living in a house they shouldn't be able to afford? I suspect they are.

    I never "got" the whole bottled water thing. Remember when yuppies first started toting imported single-serve containers with fancy water around, to show how "special" they were. Then, suddenly, everybody began to do it. I thought, "what a bunch of pathetic bottle babies, probably weaned too soon or something." Then, gradually, it dawned on me that the boom in bottled water sales was more about advertising and peer pressure. A corporation's cynically engineered dream come true. The fact that most bottled water comes out of municipal taps, just like the free water you get at home or work, has not been understood by the masses of insecure, fearful consumers in America. Maybe now it's time to grasp that fact before they begin to push expensive bottled air with fancy labels on the outside. Made in China, of course. Cough, weeze....

    They are trying that everywhere - but in the "First World" countries the population can push back. In the moderate climate zone in Europe there are companies (Nestlé and smaller players) allowed to remove water - usually there are regulations so that they do not damage the aquifers or drain the supply of the other participants in the system. But in these countries they have plenty of water so that is no problem, these happen to be the countries that usually are very aware of water quality and where you can well drink the tap water.
    That includes certainly Switzerland where Nestlé is from, Germany (at least the parts that are not subject to heavy industrial agriculture). The Netherlands not so much (too much big AG) but I guess also in France there might be regions where they have good tap water - although Big Water is really big in France too. In Paris a contract expired for private corps managing the water system - now the community takes care again of the public water supply.
    The citizens were sick and tired of the corruption and shenanigans. Of course it does not work if you hand over a quasi monopoly to for-profit players (and big players at that).

    So I can't wash my car, water my lawn, or shower more than 5 minutes, but nestle can take millions of gallons of water, while everyone else tries to conserve through a drought of which we have no idea when it's going to end?
    Sounds like typical America to me.

      Seems my children are doing perfectly fine, imagine that, doesn't require a boycott to raise them and supply them with what they need.
      But hey, do continue, why don't you boycott every other company in existence too while you're at it since I am sure something could be dug up about them that you won't like.
      Dollar bills comment, there is a few problems with your statement there. First off there is no dollar bills here, secondly it's a tad difficult to drink a solid object.
      As for Nestle products, yes I do consume their beverages and food along with use other products they have. At the end of the day they supply many things that are beneficial.
      May I ask why you started so many words with a capital? There are many words in your paragraph that do not need any form of a capital letter. I don't expect people to have 100% perfect grammar, but that is the basics which even you should have a grasp of.

    • @ChrisRamsayy
      @ChrisRamsayy 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seriously are you that bad at basic English? Your formatting is non-existent and makes those paragraphs look horrendous. I am not even going to try and bother reading that unless you add some sort of formatting to it, in the meantime I'll only skim over it.
      My children are perfectly fine, Nestle nor any other corporation change that. I have complete control over what and how I do things with my children and always will, guess you feel the need to try and make yourself feel better by trying to bash someones parenting abilities.
      Simply put you are nothing but an extremist in these scenarios, you talk about global takeovers yet here you are using a Google service, a company who is taking things over on a global scale more-so than other companies. Why not talk about the purchases Google has made recently and what that means for others? Oh right, you like using certain services so prefer not to bash such things when it is something you enjoy regardless of the repercussions.

      cindy garay ***** ***** *****
      Looks like none of you have learned how to spell or even how to use the simplest of grammar, great education you have achieved!
      Yes I will attack it, since you want to attack parenting and can't even use something so basic then it will be used against you. Actually Johnny has the closest thing to a decent looking post. If you cannot show any sense of education of course I will not take a thing seriously that person says.
      Cindy, I think you mean a shill, quite a difference and hard to get wrong, and no, I am most definitely not paid by Nestle.
      Now Johnny, since you have been more coherent I will address you, I have never worked for Nestle and yes they do a lot of bottling in my country along with areas that are low on water. The main difference is the amounts they extract is exaggerated to look as high as possible to the uneducated eye. If you actually take the amount they use it will not make a single difference in the areas they take it from at the end of the day which is what most will yell about.
      As for what products are treated with, if we wanted to be picky on that then we better boycott almost every company out there since most go about it in methods people would be against. You know how much damage cows cause? I figure you out of all of these people do but yet most of those others do not make a single fuss about it because what is produced from it.
      Also Cindy seems like an overly paranoid cultist at this point.

    • @ChrisRamsayy
      @ChrisRamsayy 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *****
      As are most products we consume which is why I honestly do not make a major deal out of it, I am a bit more lax I guess you could say when it comes to such things. I definitely do not deny that these things unfortunately are added to things we consume, I just at the same time will not jump onto boycotts either.
      We all have our choices of what we choose to consume and not to consume so I do not see a point in me specifically boycotting something I have a choice to not partake in. Nestle beyond the fact of the water debate has a lot of great things and has helped a lot of people as well, something that can also be a risk to losing.
      At least thank you for being a tad more civil instead of, whatever else the rest is for a lack of better terms of me name-calling on it. Nothing wrong with awareness and at least once you knew the person was aware of what you were saying you were pleased.
      cindy garay You really are starting to sound even more like a crazy person and are a perfect example of what I was stating above, so I am done addressing you.

Nestle is using resources for almost free that we in a way pay to preserve, then uses that basically free resource to profit. How is that different than what your doing with the dvds?

    THIS VIDEO MISDIRECTS THE REAL ISSUES!!! If this pipe was such a problem then why the hell didn't these two retired Forest Service guys do anything about the permit during the TWENTY SEVEN YEARS since it was expired. They could have reissued it with strict conditions on operation or flat out denied it. Twenty Seven years is the length of a career for crying out loud, couldn't they have found 5 minutes a day to look at it?? This video paints them as some sort of environmental heros instead of the "sit-on-their-ass-do nothing" government employees which they probably were!! Here is an idea for Californians - look at your own personal water use (ie watering lawns), wasteful agricultural uses, 100 year old leaking infrastructure, & failed water right policies!
