he was very young here, what he says is where he was at that point of his life based on his own experiences and people he meet, when you get older you realized is a very toxic way of being together with somebody and you can actually be friends with someone of the oposite sex and not feel anything else if you are happy with your man, if the male friend feels something for you is time to clear things up and see if you can still have a friendship.
Now I understand his opinion. That's why he was fined having a date with Kim Tae Hee during his military service because he miss her terribly. He's following what his heart feels. That shows his loyalty and love. Temptations destroys trust sometimes. It's better to avoid than put yourself into a situation.
