As a bengalee..it's a proud moment for us💜💜 we bengalees love Feluda, byomkesh, kiriti and a lot of detectives..
I wished I had explored it earlier🥰
@@ReadTravelBecome from Kolkata
Indeed! I am not from Bengal but I love Satyajit Ray's work, byomkesh Bakshi and also Rabindranath Tagore's books. Bengal is a home to a plethora of gifted people❤️
@@Laxman.Lakhan ofcourse 🤍
From Bangladesh
"Hey you beautiful people" is your patent ❤❤
🥰🥰
Thank you so much for recommending these lovely books. You made my April 2021 TBR interesting.
Thank you for the suggestions. Gonna read them 🙂
As a Bengali it's a proud moment to hear the name of Mr. Ray,, I am so glad that u also mentioned his name,, it's an amazing recommendation 😊😊😊😊
Mr Ray is a true inspiration
I'm English and first saw Mr Ray's film "Pather Panchali" over 50 years ago and it has remained my favourite. I would love to be able to visit Bengal one day.
Thank you Av! 🌈
2 of the best thin books that I have ever read was
As a Man thinketh - James Allen( Non-fiction)
Animal Farm - George Orwell (Fiction)
I recommend these two books for any beginner who wants to develop their reading habits
Awesome choices
I've read animal farm and it made me like reading stuff
'The last lecture ' was given to me by one of my teacher. It has the effect the moment u start it. Connected a lot.
Hey , your videos are really very helpful .
Thank you. I have read 2 books after your video.
Thanks for helping everyone sir
Video on Saturday? That's a huge surprise. As usual the video is awesome. Now these books are in my goals list.
Haha yaay🥳🥳 and thank you!
Satyajit Roy is ❤️..I have read whole feluda.feluda is my fav❤️
Congratulations for 15k family..
The Archer by Paulo Coelho is one of my best reads ! It's thin ,colourful and a very potent book . Perfect for beginners too !
Yes, very picturesque
Thank you so much 😊
Loved the reccos !!!!Do some book reading and discussion streams in future. That would be amazing.
Yeah sounds like a really fun idea, thanks a lot🙌🏼
This is the first video I saw on your channel and it is compelling enough for me to subscribe
Glad to hear that😄
I like your all video I also want a habit to read books 📚 I also learned some new words u are the best
Thanks bhaiyya for the work you're doing !
This is an excellent theme for a video, thank you. I'm now in my late 60's but still get a thrill from reading the final sentence of a book. I wouldn't have included self-help books in my own list, but hey, it isn't my list!
A couple of other 'thin books' I have enjoyed and would recommend are:
1. The Otterbury Incident by Cecil Day Lewis. This is now an English children's* classic and was written in the 1940's but the adventure holds up today and the writing is excellent. *I re-read it as a senior and loved it even more 2nd time around.
2. The Darling Buds of May by H E Bates. This is an introduction to the Larkin family - resourceful country folk whose further adventures are humorously retold in a series of similarly slim volumes.
The compound effect is best one. 👍👍
I am so glad that you mentioned Feluda. The stories are really thrilling and entertaining and keeps you glued to the book till the end. I am a bengalee and we begalees thrive with Feluda and Byomkesh.
Exactly! I wish I had explored them sooner
Thankyou for the recommendations.
I have read 3 of the above recommended books
(1) playtpus and plato walk into a war - enjoyed the jokes, but didn't get much grasp on the philosophical angles, just have a hold of few topics mentioned in the book . But it is a very different and interesting genre to read.
(2) Five people you meet in heaven - This book is very easy to get through and the author has put forward some deep thoughts with such a simple word selection. I have ordered this author's another book "Tuesday's with morries” and looking forward to read it.
(3) The last lecture - This is the book that i enjoyed the most. What an inspiring book, mostly because of the real life scenerio and the huge courage of Randy Pausch to show us all that " Even in that struggling phase of the last days of his life, he didn't forget the most important lesson of human life i.e. "to live” .
You are doing an excellent work in enculcating the habit of reading in india. Keep up the good work brother❤
Being a Bengali, "Adventures of Feluda" on your list made me nostalgic and happy. Of course I read all those in Bengali. Glad you loved them. Do read all of them.
Which one do you recommend to start with? I see that they are not all set in Bengal.
Lovely recommendations and cool video 💯👏 👏 I hope to start reading Feluda series soon especially out of all the intriguing books mentioned. Heard a lot about it and he is Satyajit Ray, so there is that...

It's 2023 and I want to become a reader. I have lots of "self help" books that I've read half way thru. My friend suggested finding a fiction book to entertain my mind without going to deep (as I tend to do/be).
THANK YOU 💙💙💙💙
Definitely reading Plato and Platypus!
Yaaay, let me know how you like it
I'm going to buy , the five people you meet in heaven and the adventures of feluda ...✨
If you read 25 pages a day…
That’s 750 pages a month (3-4 books)…
Which turns into 9,000 pages a year…
That’s 35+ books a year…
Just by reading 25 pages a day.
Yepp
It's really encouraging..... Thank you.. By the way, how many pages do you read on an average per day..?
I read 80pages per day so 1book a week, 4books a month, 52 books a year😉.

Bengali literature is very rich..We have lot of authors who have written some wonderful books.. Satyajit Ray is a great writter..We have lot of detectives also in Bengali literature..Feluda, Byomkesh are the most famous one..Feluda gives you a different flavour, its for all the readers of any age...Even mostly everything written by Satyajit Ray is appropriate for all age groups to read..Its so easy to read, to understand but its magnificent......Byomkesh gives you a different flavour ,its mostly for mature readers, its complex, has a style like Sherlock Holmes..Try reading Byomkesh also...Its soo freaking awesome...........

Although you must have already read maybe hundreds of books but would like to suggest you one of my own favourite books. It's called 'Invisible Cities' by Italo Calvino. Won't spoil much for you but basically it's a fictional conversation between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan where Polo describes to the emperor almost ove 50 fictional cities that exists in his empire. Do reply to this comment if you see it and decide to read the suggest book. Thankyou!
