SAO should have been a multi-POV story, but if you had to pick one of all the characters to pick for a main-POV character, Kirito would be at the _bottom_ of my list. Even if you changed _nothing_ that actually happened in the story, using Asuna or Klein (or even better, alternating between them) as the POV character(s) would have massively improved the story. Seriously, one of the _best_ things about isekai over normal fantasy is getting to learn about the new world _with_ the main character, and Kirito is _not_ an interesting enough reason to throw that away for. Hell, just look at the first month in game. Asuna is going from knowing _nothing_ about the game to one of the best players and Klein is trying to get his friends together into a guild and pass on what little he was taught while figguring the rest out and Kirito....? He did so little of interest that _the story completely timeskipped the month!_ Or if you want to _actually_ make a bold choice that is as dark and edgy as Kirito wishes he was, start with Diavel as the MC, then make Sachi the MC, THEN make Asuna/Klein the MC. You'd never be short on tension again!

Man went from knowing only what kirito taught him in an afternoon and refusing to abandon his friends to one of the few players with a unique skill, yes Klein has a unique skill just like how kirito had dual wield. And he succeeded on keeping his entire guild alive until the end which not many, or any, other guilds can say they did. And it's all entirely offscreen because we're following kirito, a guy so uninteresting in accomplishments the story has to skip over almost the entire two years they were trapped in the game.

The anime that I know of which doesnt do incest or age of consent 13 is Black Butler, Idk anything of the half with Alois but I know enough of the first Season and it takes place in England while no incest.

I disagree that SAO abridged is so much better than the original. Sure its funnier, but I've seen the original multiple times and never once thought "man, this is bad" or "kirito is boring" so I've never understood why people say it's bad. Even reading through these comments explaining their reasoning doesn't change my mind because I fundamentally disagree with a lot of their "points".
The problem i see is a lot of people forcing themselves to watch a genre of anime they dont enjoy ie Harem, OP MC, etc and then complaining when they don't like it. The abridged is only better to these people because it changes the original show into a genre they like ie Comedy, Parody, Slapstick, etc.

Ok, so since you two haven't seen Tron, you really should at some point - it's a classic. While you'll miss out on some of the references, I think you'd probably like it more if you start with the sequel that came out more than 20 years later - Tron: Legacy. It's flashier, has a killer soundtrack from Daft Punk, and feels like watching live-action isekai.

As a big sao fan it's hard to go back to the original the abridged version it just simply better I wish they would continue the series but I think they are done with it. I wish they would to gun Gale that would be amazing.
The sad part is, Alicization and war of underworld are actually pretty neat - I mean, animation and sound design are nice, there's a decently coherent plot and with Alice the show finally has a good female character. But I don't hold it against anyone who stopped with the Alfheim Storyline because that I myself only managed to sit through because I wanted to watch the Ordinal Scale movie and somehow convinced myself it was neccessary I know the story until that point. Movie was decent though so I guess all's well that ends well and again, Alicization pretty solid too compared to the rest.
