Great video 👍 Can you make a video of how hydraulic cylinders are installed on Hondas or other Japanese and european cars with McPherson struts? greetings from Germany
This is a great shout! There’s a few different ways but I could definitely show how we fitted them. There is a video on the Honda build from a way back but I can’t remember how much detail we went into. I’ve not had the chance to build a car with macpherson struts yet but I hope to soon and will deffo film it. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇩🇪
@@LayNPlayTV Thanks for the quick reply. As far as I know, the Civic should also have similar struts installed at the front. It would help me if a video showed how it was installed in the Civic. I ask because I have a 1994 Mazda 626, they are not exactly the same struts but similar.
The civic and I’m pretty sure all pre 2000ish Hondas have double wishbone type front suspension. To juice any strut it’s pretty much a case of removing the shock absorber part and replacing that with a ram whilst retaining the top and bottom mount. The issue with macpherson struts is the ram has to turn with the steering which can damage the seals, but there are better suited rams (we have these on the civic)
@@LayNPlayTV You're right, when I entered Civic 1989 Mcpherson strut in the Google search, it showed me the Mcpherson struts for this Civic model. I looked again and now I saw that they are different struts.
Jokes aside this this is really helpful. Thank you so much for making these videos
Thank you for the comment! 🙏🏻
