I remember my old brown Austin Mini many years back - The Name Christine on her back window - stopped at the lights on the Lancs - Porsche Carrera pulls up at the side - gentle rev of its engine... Christine just seemed to lift by an inch or so - pats her dash board - saying "I know..." Lights change to green - Porsche stutters - won't restart ?? Christine just purrs away - we beat him to the next lights and was on our way 👍
Darned right. John Carpenter’s The Thing is another example. Although, I’m convinced the people in charge of special effects in The Thing weren’t playing with a full deck. Haha
It's an incredible scene but I have always wondered what happens right after. Does Arnie talk to Christine? Does Christine open her driver side door to let him in? But we know if they showed that then it wouldn't be a horror movie

@@jameshaggerty8348 Interesting point. You may be right, but she didn’t love Arnie back at first, and did not repair herself because she felt like no one wanted her. When I saw this movie for the first time, my dad told me Arnie showed Christine love in the prior months by working like hell to put her together. Arnie’s continued loyalty after she was trashed convinced Christine to “open up” to Arnie.
@@lukenorth7127 exactly. Him fixing her proved to her that he cared about her, so much that he’s even willing to fix her again. It’s why she finally shows that she can repair herself. She was depressed because she lost her previous owner. The guy who sold him the car hinted at it.

Still to this day, THIS scene proves that practical effects are so much better than any cgi in horror/thriller films.

I wish movies still did more practical effects. CGI definitely has its place but It’s almost completely taken over.
Practical effects is art
Yes
the only sin is it was filmed in reverse....so that means they had to destroy probably a few during filming.
One of the best scenes of horror history
chills every time those headlights come on. Every time!
Esta película es una obra de arte ❤👍
Christine is my favourite
This is my favorite scene in the movie
Ok, Show Me.
I'm curious what his thoughts were with this movie. Stephen King has a great imagination.
He hated it.
And he's mad, John Carpenter and Stanley Kubrick made better movies than King's Books.
The book varied a lot from the movie.
Honestly I wish all cars could do this
Especially after I REAR ENDED SOMEONE and I’m paying god knows what Insurance
SERIOUSLY AUTOMAKERS GET ON THIS
wish my buick regal could fixed itself lol
thanks for liking my post
fernando robles hahaha
The only question I had is where did the hood materialize from. It was totally gone!
Maybe Christine can summon her detached parts and make them come back to her.

Arnie: Ok. Show me.
I wish my camaro did this
How did the glass appear
The car can heal itself. It's had freaky supernatural powers since the day if was made
how did the hood appear?
New century be like

Does anyone know the name of the song
That’s what I’m trying to figure out
If you mean the music when the car starts repairing itself, it’s a sped up version of “Harlem Nocturne” by The Viscounts
Too bad my car couldn't fix itself like this
She could if you truly loved her.

Christine is all but making love to Arnie.
She popped his cherry in this scene.
Dommage, c'est pas en français.
I believe the Plymouth Fury was made in Ontario, so it’s kind of a bit of French.
Arnie wouldn’t of died they actually did Arnie a favor trashing it
I don’t think it would’ve made a difference. Christine can clearly repair herself.
