Our "little girl" was called Stella, rescued her at 10 hours old with a crushed leg and in septic shock. She lived to be 4 1/2 as a 400lb 3 legged pig.... Unfortunately complications from her injury meant she'd never live a full life, but we gave her the best we possibly could and she brought us so much joy. Watching this brings back wonderful memories and shows how incredibly intelligent and loving pigs are. Thank you for showcasing this and bringing awareness to pigs and hopefully helping to educate people a little bit more.

Just like with everything there is a dark side to pigs too. Don’t wanna be “that guy” but just want people to realize that it isn’t all bubbles and sunshine in the animal kingdom. There is a reason why some people refrain from anything to do with pigs.
I had pigs as pets/food when I was a kid… they were very affectionate and ran with us kids all summer… But… we did eat one every year. I learned to accept that… begrudgingly…
I'm an 'ol' farm kid', & was around pigs/hogs for years! Some people may not be aware that pigs are considered by experts to have the same intelligence level as dogs, & can be domesticated just like here... also, they're NOT inherently dirty; pigs CAN'T SWEAT, so they roll in mud, which helps then cool off. Something interesting also: I was a hired hand for a farmer who installed an outdoor cooling system for his hogs- under a canopy, a series of elevated water pipes above a concrete slab with spray nozzles which provided a very fine mist- the pigs would lay on the slab & enjoy the mist, along with any breeze that might come along. The slab had a slight downward slope to it, & the pigs would always go to the downhill end to 'do their business', keeping the rest of the slab clean from waste washing down from above where they lay. This is common behavior for pigs- they won't lay in their filth if they can help it...

Pigs are highly intelligent !!!! There are alternatives to consider to help keep these docile lovable creatures living a full life. They deserve respect and have the tight to live a full life as God intended for all sentient beings! ❤️🤙🏻🙏🏻
Melvin is a smart, handsome pig. I'm so glad they've given him a better life. I think of all the others like him that aren't so lucky and it makes me sad.

We're capable of growth and change - if we know better, we should do better. I know it's difficult to change our habits sometimes, but we don't need to eat them. Taste buds are a poor excuse for murder. I know that sounds dramatic, but it's literally what it is. I wouldn't want to die to be someone's meal (we're all made out of food), and neither do they.
i gave up eating pork 32 years ago because i cherish pigs. i can’t have one (live in an apartment), but i’m thrilled to see you guys taking such good care of him.
Good for you giving him a better life, that is awesome! Pigs get in the mud to keep themselves cool.....they do not sweat. I made a mud hole that water used to drizzle in all day while i was at work for my pig. When she was small i got her a doggie bed and she used it up till she got to big for it and busted the sides out of it....lol. She only once went to the bathroom in my house one time and that was because i was in a hurry and was late for work and forgot to let her out....they are super clean unless they need to cool theselves, and then its the ole mud hole. They make great pets and are super smart!

When you see something like this, or the dogs raised for meat in S Korea, it just makes me sick. I hope that the good info on the internet will change people for the better and make them aware of what they are doing.
pigs are insanely smart. they can even be trained like dogs. do tricks such as obstacles, and even sniff out drugs. just like dogs. they can be very clean and not smell. it all depends on what you feed them. mud is also what helps keep them from getting overheated, along with keeping their skin from drying out. just like how people use lotion

Unfortunately I'm England, pigs are created up to live in tiny spaces, there is immense cruelty in the meat trade here .

I love pigs. Sadly I don’t think they make good apartment dwellers. It be difficult for a pig to be happy without a yard.

Every time I hear farm, it reminds me of a sci-fi show about farm raised humans for meat consumption.
The positions should be reversed for a while. Then maybe humans would wake up to their cruelty and stop slaughtering animals.

pigs are insanely smart. they can even be trained like dogs. do tricks such as obstacles, and even sniff out drugs. just like dogs. they can be very clean and not smell. it all depends on what you feed them. mud is also what helps keep them from getting overheated, along with keeping their skin from drying out. just like how people use lotion

They’re so smart, smartest land animal next to elephants. I have never seen his breed before, very cool. I love his long floppy ears too! 💗💗

Aww such a sweet pig and animal ! Id like to own him myself but I live in an apartment ! But this pig seems like a real sweet heart ! I love animals and have a all black girl kitty named Little Girl ! I think animals are for the most part very loving and sweet animals !
