Rod said that he was in a airport when he saw a man across the staging area that was wearing the exact same clothes and carrying a briefcase exactly like his. He used his "what if" theory of writing and asked himself "What if that was me?" The outcome was this episode. I use the same approach to my writing and never run out of ideas.

The moment when her double is looking at her from inside the bus still gives me the creeps.

Definitely a great moment in the episode. I also liked the shot of her in the bathroom and seeing herself outside the door sitting on the bench. Very good episode.

A good doppelganger episode. A couple of things are strange, though. Nobody seems to notice that the mirror at 3:01 is reflecting her double sitting on the bench, but NOT the other lady. If it did, you wouldn't be able to see the doppelganger. Also, later on, the man puts down his case and goes to the fountain for a drink, and discovers his case gone. If you look closely, you can see a string tied to the case which is used to pull it out of sight.

Yeah this one creeped the hell out of me when I was a kid.

This is one of my favorites. I saw it when I was a kid and the part where she sees herself in the mirror sitting on the bench freaked me out and stayed with me for a long damn time.
That's part of my favorite piece of trivia. This episode was released in early 1960. Later in 1960, Vera Miles will be in Psycho, where she also has a freak out moment when she sees herself in the mirror (when she's investigating Mother's bedroom.)

Nice. I didn't put that together until now. You're right! Same actress. Thanks for pointing that out. Yeah. The mirror shot was also my favorite, eeriest moment of this episode. Looking forward to seeing if this ends up in my Top 5 episodes of the season when i do a countdown once I finished before moving on to Season 2. Thanks for the comment.

Martin Milner from the series "Route 66" and "Adam 12".

Yeah. I definitely found that out in the X-Ray facts I read at the end. Pretty great how many actors made an appearance in this show.

(SPOILER) That's why Martin Milner first started driving down Route 66. He was chasing his double.

He had just one double along Route 11, and six along Route 66. Because 6 x 11= 66.

The bus station is the turning point. The gateway to another dimension.

My personal favorite from this TWZ season. The whole parallel universe thing and the musical score make this an especially creepy episode!

Very much so. Really kept you guessing and ranks as definitely one of the eeriest of episodes.

One of my favorite Twilight Zones, and I think this was the second one I ever saw, after Nightmare At 20,000 Feet. It's also my favorite "obscure" episode - I never see this one mentioned as much as other "classic" episodes. I know it scared the hell out of me when I was a little kid! I remember the next two I saw after this was "Time Enough At Last" and "The Lonely" and I was hooked! I was lucky to have seen only great episodes at first! Now that I've seen 'em all, I can see when they fall into formula (it turns out the character is dead! Or the character he's talking to is Death! lol). But this one......creepy! Thanks, man!

Definitely a different episode in terms of formula. Almost like an infinite loop that's always occurring within that bus station, but with a different person and no real ending. Definitely one of the creepier episodes so far. Thanks for the comment.

I would chalk it up to inhaling too much bus exhaust...
