Hi Tom and thank you for this great video. I would really love a video by you or your mum on pruning the king protea. As you know, I grow one in a greenhouse in a less than ideal climate. I have followed pruning instructions given by the SA TH-camr Tanya Visser but they left out lots of detail. I also wonder might less pruning be required in my climate because the plant grows less. Anyway, thanks and happy growing.

@@thomashancock8361 Here's a deal. Make a pruning video and I will give you a shout out in my next greenhouse video! My protea has just come into flower in there so I will be showing it in the video and it will be appropriate to talk about your channel!

Can you explain what’s the difference between a flower and a leaf bud? Will it eventually become a flower?

Can I move a small protea that I planted in the wrong place. It will be too big for the spot. Would there be a particular time of year that is best? I'm in Australia in the mountains where it is slightly cooler than Sydney. Thanks for any tips.

It depends on how big the protea and want type it is.
I would suggest doing it in the early spring

@@thomashancock8361 I'm not sure what type it is. It may be a pink ice. It is probably best to wait until next year now as it is starting to get warmer. Thank you

@@dorothyjbond yes I would definitely wait till it's cool.
      Pink ice transplant fairly well
