@@al2639 regardless of whether you think that or not, it's still made by people for people. It's always been this way anyway. Plenty of popular music throughout the ages is very basic, but that doesn't make it inherently bad. The simplicity is just part of what makes it applicable to a wider audience.
One of my favorite performances... even though, ive never particularly liked this song. The way Daniel performs this however, is absolutely incredible!
I know personal preference and all, but how can you dislike this song? When I doubt whether the chair were as good as I remembered, I only have to remember this song and then I remember how good they were
@@rhomahno8878 I don't dislike the song. I just never thought it is one of their better songs. However, this particular version leaves me awestruck every time I hear it. I very much wish I could have seen them once, in person
I seem to only like live version of this song for some reason. The album version is, dare I say, boring? Daniel definitely breathes life into it, especially this one right here!
@@gaiagoddess5360 I agree completely. I've always skipped this song on the album. Live however; always good. This version, in particular, is the greatest I've heard.... Rock and roll near-perfection
‘90s had that for so many people. Some others you might like: Jeff Buckley, TOOL, Oasis (so many better songs than the ‘hits’), Oleander, Our Lady Peace, Temple of the Dog…the sleeper in there being Jeff Buckley. I realize you may have heard of all of those, but so many good performers from the ‘90s.
I'd strangle a kitten to have gotten the chance to be at this show! ...kidding, of course... But damn, I very much wish that I could've seen silverchair in concert, at least once!!! If only they'd do a reunion tour. I'd do everything in my power to go see them. From what I can tell by watching concerts on youtube, Silverchair is one of the greatest live bands of all time!
Only Daniel Johns can destroy awesome studio versions of awesome songs, live. Did anyone ever say to this guy - "dude. Just play the f#### song like you recorded" ? (Check out studio version; th-cam.com/video/wz27jB61IE0/w-d-xo.html )
best version of this song
The confidence after a few years ... he was on fire
Miss this days when music was made by people to people ...
What the hell does this even mean?
@@jamesdevine02 alot of music today is corporate basic trash

I thought this was perhaps their best, simple but it rocks

When music was true music made with people for people
When Johns didn't suck.

Probably such a good performance because Daniels off his head On MDMA hahah look at that Jaw SWING @1:56
Beginning riff reminds me so much of Pearl Jam you can hear the inspiration and bands they definitely liked
Show me a more comfortable and natural frontman. There are some, but very very few. Dan the man.
They just got there and were cut off:(

GOOD ROLLA YEAH👍
Singing and playing guitar…why is it so hard for me

The studio version is boring compared to this one! Live isn't supposed to sound like the album anyway!
