Regarding the H game: you really need to decide yourself what is more important to you. Are you in it just to win it, or would you rather have exactly what you want? Very rarely, do they both happen in tandem, They certainly can, I wouldn’t bet on it.
Thoughts on “the game”- if you want to multiple bags/to be a lifelong customer, 100% go for it! It can be very rewarding! If you just want one bag in a very specific size, color, hardware, etc. go resale. Personally, I’m terrified of super fakes, so I’ve only bought one pre-loved bag which is a vintage bag that’s not super popular and very unlikely to be replicated. It took me 1yr, 7mo for my first quota bag. I started off slow and not even asking for a quota bag. But since I’ve definitely been rewarded for my patience! A lot of it is really about your relationship with your SA and patience. There are honestly so many things I love from the brand that I have to slow myself down and pace things! If only I had an unlimited budget! 🤣
Do you remember what your prespend was around when you were offered the bag? And how often you were shopping? I feel like 1 year and 7 months isn’t too bad. I could do that lol. I don’t mind buying preloved but i feel like i want that reward of being offered and me being the one and only user idk. 🥹
I would say if you want to continue collecting Hermes bags and have a few on your list to acquire then you should continue to play the game. If you just want one bag then I would just get it from a reseller. Resellers have new bags also so it’s worth it to just go that route as you’ll get something you really want and love. Which size and color Birkin are you interested in ?
I have many on my list lol so buying from resellers may get very pricey quickly. But right now the one I’m really after is a Birkin 30 in vermillion 🤤 I’m open to a few other colors but in size 25

If you have very few and classic colors only listed then you may have to wait a while since many are waiting for those colors. So you’ll have to then decide if color is more important or the wait. Still there is no guarantee. I want a Kelly 25 in black but I think I’ll be waiting a while so thinking to go with a color, I just don’t want to wait 1.5-2 or who knows how many years for it. All the colors are so beautiful and Hermes does colors so well, figured I may as well go with a color.

I’m hoping for a Kelly 25 before the year ends. I want a Constance also and he asked about colors for it but I don’t want to delay the Kelly offer so not sure if I should ask for the Constance now or later.
I'm not in a rush for a B/K really so I'm also just buying random things that I want haha I really want the Chaine d'Ancre ring but in the rose gold. It's so pretty! There's some other gold jewelry pieces that I really love too, so hopefully buying those will eventually play in my favour (game-wise). I thought about potentially buying items and then reselling them if I don't want them but it would still count towards pre-spend. Hey, ❤️ so you are actually correct. I just asked my SA as well. So, you can buy the belt straps separate but unfortunately you have to buy the buckle as a kit. But some places in Europe do allow just the purchase of the belt buckle. I didn't know that when I recorded.
Just my two cents on this topic, from a girl living in Europe. In my opinion for people living in USA is so much more reasonable and worth buying from a reseller. You can get the bag you want, even brand new for just double the price ( ex K25 epsom is 11.800$ befor tax in USA) and so to me It’s not worth the stress in the store, because let me tel you, the store experience is nothing but just plain. Instead for me, who I live in Europe, where a B25 togo is 8.300€ buying from a reseller (25000€) It’s triple the price 😅 which at this point the bag is not worth it anymore. At least to me. I hope my reasoning makes sense 🤣🙈🙏🏻

I keep thinking well maybe i should save my money and maybe get lucky and score a quota bag in Europe on a vacation. 🫠 I’m having such a hard time really deciding what to do next. And even if you get one by luck it’s not granted that you will get offered a quota bag. There are more unsuccessful stories than successful ones. I had 3 appointments last year and zero bag. So, take my advice, save your money. Don’t travel to Paris just for the hope of scoring a bag. Nowadays only few people get an appointment and a bag. They’re keeping them for VIP / IG influencers and well established customers.
