  • Introduction to Identifying Raptors in Flight: From Near to Far
    Ted Keyel
Raptors are one of the most charismatic groups of birds, and a favorite to many birders and non-birders alike. Birds of prey often migrate along geographic features such as shorelines and ridges, and there are hawkwatching sites across the country. Raptors include vultures, eagles, kites, harriers, accipiters, buteos, falcons, and owls. While diverse, there are a lot of similarities among birds of prey.
Since observations are often at far distances and in poor lighting, they can be a very difficult group to identify.
Join Ted as he provides a primer in how to separate raptor groups.
