Nice!!!!!!!!!!!! You ALMOST Had the laser swap guy, I was not expecting it to be that close, laser swap does WAY too much damage, so getting as close as you did was super impressive!!! I screamed when he killed you by 1 health!!!!!
@@TheRoyalSkies I was shocked by how close that match was. After the 1st round I realized I had a genuine chance to win that matchup and I was all in 😄. I wanted to win that one so badly since I struggle against that setup. Having him so close to dying was good enough for me though lmao.
@@seraphwithatank6535 Depends on your weapons. It's a hard match up for tank. Kick boosting is going to be your only reliable way to dodge those things but I'd say rely on your higher AP and out firepower them. On my main build I end up having to stun them asap since I don't have enough energy to dodge everything. Go power for power imo.
@@Thryfe Some lightweight builds can rival a tank's damage output without requiring exceptionally skilled movement. A lightweight frame can fit laser swap load outs, with medium-lightweight builds being able to use them efficiently. That said, part of the challenge for me is probably skill-related-I'm still perfecting my distance management and soft lock skills even a year in 😅. If I improved in those areas, I’d likely land more shots against less skilled opponents, even with a sub-optimal weapon loadout.
I've been studying this game for a while now (can't play it cause my laptop is bad) and I'm so glad the rifles are better. I've wanted to use the Linear Rifle for a long time. Great video!
3:40 I once used this strategy. I was a cqc laser lightweight with nachtreiher legs. My opponent was a heavy biped with dual Zimms, an Earshot, and some other shoulder weapon. I just assault boosted away from him, and used my laser drones and missiles to chip him from range. He got mad at me for ratting. I fought him cqc the next time I saw him and absolutely curb-stomped him, no problem.
What most people don't know, is that as along as you're not going to be staggered by the initial impact...you ultimately accumulate MORE acs strain by shielding a linear rifle charged shot if you don't initial guard it. So chain firing dual CURTIS charged shots are an excellent at stunning shield users and sending their shields into cooldown. You saw that during the match with the laser rifle mid weight, didn't you? Thryfe, I'm seriously gonna be trying this build. I think i might really like it!
Id honestly consider using the energy shoties with the way you play this. Youd have to make build adjustments but the distance youre at, what youre taking advantage of it lines up
What's your opinion on laser orbitals? ive been messing around with em and have been loving it so far. but i keep hearing from other more experienced players how theyre subpar.
Like what I'm using in the video? Personally I love them. One of them on it's own can feel really subpar, but two of them together is actually highly underrated imo. Doubled up they put out solid damage. I've run a single one on my main build Silver Knight from day 1, and I can never bring myself to take it off. It stays active for a long time and helps keep ACS strain from falling off, as well as providing good complimentary damage to other weapons. Overall on paper there are many better options, and if you aren't used to having it you may feel it's very subpar. It's strengths are easy to overlook since it's not very "bombastic" if that makes sense.
@@Thryfe Yaknow every one of these points you brought up were surprisingly missing when everyone trashed on em lmao. It makes total sense and that consistent acs strain is a big bonus not many talk about. Good work putting it into words that i lacked!

Beautiful build and gameplay as usual, man. I know you're a busy man but is there any way I can work out a build with you to try for me? This old raven can't fight anymore due to a new career and kid and I really want someone to try this idea out for me. I'll give you a hint- it's a faux kite build
@@Thryfe so hear me out. I'll take care of the weapons and play style if you can help with the frame and internals. You WILL need quad legs for sure- Curtis and Harris from long range. Pop shotting with Harris and charge shots with Curtis. Kite slightly to build acs and force the opponent to close in. Then container missile and laser turret for closer range. Since you don't need to lock on with either, you can focus solely on a medium/long range fcs. When the opponent closes in, pop the container and assault boost into and around them while trying to get some hits with the rifles. Quickly regain energy, pop another container and turret and assault boost PAST the opponent letting the turret do the hard work. Gain some distance while they chase(missiles will hit them in the back as they pursue). Turn around and repeat. I know it's not your play style but I have been DYING to see how this strategy would work in ac6. This veteran raven would be unbelievably grateful if you could pull this off
A close range lamm with dual curtis... Psychological warfare that is, that thing is absolutely hideous. I love it.
It definitely throws people off 😄. You see rifles and lamm legs amd automatically anticipate and plan for kiting lol.
