  • Silver Plate Experiment Part 2! Recovering silver without chemicals. We'll see how it goes! As one of the commenters said in Part 1, time consuming process and probably won't be what makes me a living but fun to try it out for myself and know it can be done! Never know unless you TRY!
    THANK YOU to everyone that has been checking out the BBD eBay! Planning on a video of my eBay setup this week or next! Having fun getting back to it!

    Great video
    If you add some muriatic acid/hcl to your stripper solution it will clear up, just add ounce at a time and stir. This will put base metals into solution then can filter solution to leave 995 silver.
    Then melt your dried powder.
    If you want 99.9 , boil your dried filter in a weak HCl solution with peroxide, that will dissolve the copper, filter again and you get 99.99 clean metallic silver.

    Hey Dave I wanted to thank you for this video you have the most comprehensive video on this there is, and I took your video as motivation to do it myself. And then I started to actually enjoy learning about silver plate, bringing the existence of my channel. I just wanted to tell you thanks.

    Hey BBD. I love the silver refining without chemical videos (1&2). Can’t wait to see the results of the forge. I’ve started this process on a very small scale. So far I’ve noticed letting the flatware soak in the brine actually improves the silverplate removal process and the dirtier the brine gets, the better it works, up to a point. At some point it gets too dirty and begins to go more slowly. Have you noticed this? Any other tips? Oh yeah, one more thing. 6 ounces out of 25 lbs is a good rate. That’s about $120 silver today. When silver hits $50 that will be $240! A perfect hobby for a silver stacker!

    I always treat the mudd left over with murriatic acid with a little peroxide 3%. The purrity when i do that is 95 to 99 after melt

    • @golanoski1
      @golanoski1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How are you testing the purity?

  • @leefoster4133
    @leefoster4133 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, you could have filtered it all. Then melted into a plate and perform silver refinement via copper refinement. That would have pulled the copper to the cathode where it would plat and the silver would be black power in the solution.
