In the Netherlands we have been driving with the Le-Cont SVB in the new 4-stroke category producing close to 2 stroke times. The SVB is indeed a low pressure tire. 9Psi > 0,6 bar is generally somewhere where you want to be. We would sometimes drop to around 0,5bar at the rear and don`t be surprised by a reasonable gap between front and rear pressures as we generally drove somewhere between 0,05 and 0,15 bar higher at the front. The tires compared to Maxxis MX sport that we used to drive are about 1 to 1,5 sec faster. This tire has grip in every condition, better grip when cold and is way more sensitive. Sliding, agressive steering gets punished. The tire wall is very, very soft. At least when i`m driving i can feel that the rubber likes to go over the rims.
Had a set of the LH03 tyres when they first arrived. Set about 200 laps on 2 different tracks, setting PB times. Came back to the local track only to do the exact same when the tyres were old and by the 200 lap mark all tyres still had heaps of rubber left and plenty of grip to offer. 👍
I ran the lho3 for ka4 in wa a couple weeks ago, insanely grippy they are about from the old wa tyres which really slides were about 3-4 seconds quicker but it helps to drive more aggressively
Love the Vids! they really helped me get started 4 years and one championship later my son is still one of the fast karts. we run LeCont reds in the northeast US

Question regarding cadet and the maxxis tires. My boys just started cutting his first ever practice laps and i was wondering if hes better off on a brand new set or if he would be fine just running laps on a good set of secondhand tires. Hes definitely not up to the same lap times as the more experienced cadet 9s so hes not getting the same tire temps and working them as hard.
Hey dez,I was actually looking for a pressure for the cadet 12.My channel is now out and im gonna film all my race meets and karting experience. Thanks for the vid man.
I just bought Rear Lecont tires for my Kart. I am having very hard time seating them to the rim. Still have like 1/2 to go but not going. Almost at 100psi
Love the vid's, great work. Just finished a quiet club day at Emerald (CCW). Overcast cooler day. Kart is coming on late. The last 3 to 4 laps are consistently the quickest. Hot PSI immediately after a race is 15 non working tyre 16 for the working tyre. Fronts around 14psi. I feel this hot PSI is as high as I should go so what else can I do to bring the tyres on sooner! Tyres are SVB's Tag 125 Heavy. No understeer EVER on this Kart. What can I do to bring the rears on much sooner.
Hi guys, I believe the LeCont LH03 (and perhaps the other LeCont slicks) are symmetrical (unlike the Asymmetric DFMs) meaning the rears can be swapped l/r to stretch their life, handy for those tracks that punish one side. Can you confirm? Cheers
Yo derek, thanks 4 the video Bro!. a quick question to check. (Rotax max non evo motor) if you have Nylon gears on the inside you need 50ml of oil in the block With metal gears 100ml in it? correct? or always 100ml?

@@PowerRepublic With the QLD round of the Aussie Titles being held @ Emerald this year I'm going to enter the AKC for that round. So far consistent mid 42s laps ACW. Hey Dez, great vid, especially for us new guys. I found some guys struggling with pressures with the LH 03 Your advised pressures were bang on to what we used last weekend. Hey ! Great video. Just need some advice on the Lecont SVC for KZ. People tells me to run 0,55-0,65 Bar (cold). I just find going 0,80 minimum is better? Do you have the same feeling or anyone else in the comments? around 20 degrees weather and not amateur driver. Also lost on the rains too.. :) Any advice appreciated
Hello. I didn’t have experience with x30. Interesting to know your opinion. What tyres better to use with this class? On practice I used Vega Green. And kart setup was for this tyres. After that I had no choice and I put vega white (more soft compound) and I didn’t change any setup. My time on new white vega was not good. I loose about 0.5 seconds compare with vega green.
Really interesting how everything I ever heard on car setups is inverted for karts. Lower tire pressure = less temp instead of more Negative camber = more understeer instead of less
