- I Love Re-creating Famous costumes from Film, and ive compiled 4 of my favorites for you to enjoy!
We start with The Beauxbaton Girls from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I got my fabric from Mood in LA, and went to work! I drafted the pattern, and started recreating that feminine silhouette. The dress took about 12 hours to create!
The next dress is Sarah Sanderson from Hocus Pocus! This has been a bucket list outfit to recreate. In October, I ran a costume contest, and Amber won and wanted this dress! The corset was definitely the hardest part of the challenge, but I think we pulled it off!
The Iconic Yule Ball dress that Hermione wore has been a major tippingg point in recreating a dress for film. I really delved into what the costume designer (Jany Temime) had in mind for the dress. I know the original from the book was Periwinkle, but I wanted to recreate the dress from the film. This dress had SO many seams, but I appreciate how thoughtful the actual design was.
We end the video with the Red dress from Beetlejuice! What a wild dress, and I have to say, I think I made it a *little More fashion, ha!

Who else feels like Gunner’s voice is so eerie but calm at the same time which makes his voice seem so relaxing and these recreations were AMAZING!! I especially loved the Harry Potter recreations because I’m a HUGE POTTERHEAD🤓🤓🤓⚡️⚡️
You are absolutely so talented. I love watching your techniques and have learned very much. I loved all your dresses!!!! With your saying that pressing seems were most important brought back past hidden memories. After 57 years of sewing, pressing seems to be still one of my downfalls and most disliked chore of sewing. "It is the most important", my mom would tell me; I would tell her that it got in the way of getting the garment done.

It “only took you 2 full days” to create this??? I spent 2 days making a pillowcase! I’m obviously in another universe than you when it comes to sewing....I could never hope to be anywhere near as good as you are!! Wwwoooowwwwww. I gotta say, I attempted to learn anything sewing related from my former mother in law, and even though it was in person and hands on I learned more from watching one video of yours than I did months from her on my own dress. Of course that was mostly on me. I had no idea what went into every piece before and it was overwhelming. This makes me want to try my sewing machine out finally!

The red tulle dress came out more attractive than the original. As I recall, as a costume, the original with it's fluffy unfitted look was supposed to point up her immaturity and how outrageous and dastardly Beetlejuice really was.
