Personally I enjoy cleaning my airsoft guns. It's not good to take apart your guns too often, maybe once every 9 to 18 months, but I usually run some rubbing alcohol through the inner barrel before or after each game, being careful not to get alcohol on the hop up rubber

Once I played with bio bbs, one got stuck in the barrel, and the fuse burnt out somehow. I tought the battery died, so after the game, I charged it, not knowing that it was almost full. Somehow I managed to charge it over, so it exploded when I tried to shoot. (Since then, the stock of my M14 smells like lithium.) What I learnt from this, is that never use cheap quality bio bbs, and always double check the fuse, if having complications.
It is a good habit to clean your guns. They perform better and you start to understand the subtleties of your weapon. ------ Next topic should be replacement options for your crappy plastic parts...especially on the ssx23.
I would usually play side arm IND if I were to use a rifle it would be a ar, so I would just get a shoulder holster and some different sized pouches for every thing else
Jo, I clean my fav M4 when I realise there's a thing to optimize in terms of tuning. But otherwise I don't give a f, k not 100%, I clean the barrel half a year or if I have this feeling. And when I get a new gun I often clean the barrel aswell.
Maybe it's cuz I'm ocd or board, but I strip and clean everything airsoft related in my collection at worse, every other month. That included the disassembly, cleaning and maintenance of all 3 of my aegs, whether I field then or not. Maintenance is key with everything in life, biological or mechanical. Is that a bit much? Probably. But it's fun to do and it keeps my shit running smoothly. Considering I'm heavily alegic to dust mites my surroundings always need to be intensely clean
I just realized that paintball is a more clean sport than airsoft.... because you have to clean all your gear after every game. Jesus .... dont clean your mouth guard... ok, guess your girlfriend is happy now lol

I sprayed my GBB guns with silicone oil spray and they all run super fast/smooth now. They shoot so much better after spraying with silicone.
