I attended this game with my Father as an 11-year old. We had floor seats, it was an unforgettably great game. I've been hooked on College Basketball forever, but I was think back to this game as a defining experience. Just wanted to personally thank the person who posted this, it means a lot!
I remember being conflicted watching this. I was from North Philly and used to walk Temple's campus daily headed to my junior high and later high school and we would routinely see their players. When they got good around this era, we would see McKie and Jones all the time. Aaron was always gracious. Eddie could big time you sometimes. Michigan Fab 5 caught the imagination of inner city kids all over the country and we loved them too.
I'd love for Temple to get back to this level! It's been a long decade plus of good but not great under Fran Dunphy. We haven't made it to the second week of the tournament since 2001. Temple has the resources/pedigree to be a consistent Top 25 program. Hopefully Mckie can get things rolling again.
1:06:27 The Fab Five is Back? These announcers only gave props on dunks they were so much more. I always say if Coach K or Tark coached this team they win at least 2 Ships!
Oh " Yeah 1991 NCAA Tournament East Regional Final: Temple Vs. North Carolina. Eric Macon Vs. Eric Montross, King Rice, Phelps, George Lynch, Rick Foxx.
1:10:50 - the famously ill-tempered John Chaney HATED the Fab Five - the T was apparently because he called Michigan "those MF'ers" when he was shouting instructions to his players.
Apparently it chaps your ass...something that happened 30 yrs ago..and thats legal now..smdh..bet you wouldn't be saying that if it was your favorite team...just the fab 5,right??? Hell, im from Kentucky and we all loved the fab 5 at my high school..and truth be told...i went to pretty much an all white school..not because of segregation..but the African Americans went to another school in the county i was raised in..

R.I.P Coach Chaney!!
I was there as a senior in Temple's pep band. Haunts me to this day hearing Coach Chaney telling Derrick Battie "Put him on his ass g**da**it".

He ALSO told John Calipari on TV he was gonna kick his ass. Lol, he didn’t gaFFFFFFFFF!
Chaney hated everyone who beat him. His John Calipari confrontation showed him to be a small, petty man.
@@calvinhobbes6118absolutely he showed his true character when he did that he wasn't not his program wasnt the same after either
