- In this match we see Silvia Bortot clearly giving an hard time to Mikaela Mayer.
Mikaela Mayer's victory was considered controversial as she was not the dominant fighter during the majority of the match.
How does "not the dominant fighter" get a 100-90 decision from the referee?
The Video shows the full fight, so we can all count the hits and verify the 100-90 decision from the referee is to be considered, at least, obscene...as it seems that Bortot hasn't scored nothing and we can all see this is obviously not what happened. Bortot surely dominated some Round and this was not recognized at all...
I think there is a lot of "politic" in this decision, as the victory of the emblazoned Mikaela should be much more monetizable rather than if was Bortot winning.
That's why, though the winner by points was Mikaela, 100-90 seems such a grotesque (and objectively unuseful) exaggeration, just to help the popolarity of an athlete that was winning anyway.
Note that in this fight there was not judges at the border of the Ring, but just a Referee/Judge covering all the roles...
@@RockyJoeBoxingClub-ej8ig I cannot agree; 9 points is not "nothing" in a 10 point system (and I won't bring up the nonsense of a so-called 10 point system where I've not heard of a score less than 8).
British fights are typically scored by the referee only; who is closer to the action and has a better idea than anyone outside the ring of the weight of the punches.
@@LewisPulsipher 9 points are not "nothing" for a single Round but compared to the full picture it's an insult in this case... i think it's pretty easy to see that not all the Rounds had to be scored 10 to 9 in favor of Meyer.
About the referee argument, i meant that it sounds kind a coincidence that this fight, in which everything was pushing for Meyer to win, from the press to the bets...etc...we had an unic figure to cover the role of judge and referee, instead of a jury composed by a number of people..
In my final opinion, Mikaela won the fight at the scorecard but not in the measure declared by the score card and such a disproportionate official counting in the scorecard, toggles dignity to Meyer's victory.

Assolutamente sì! peccato per il punteggio che non le ha riconosciuto gli effettivi meriti...alcune riprese le aveva vinte la Bortot..
