I didn't even know he had passed away, bless him, used to laugh so much at this brilliantly funny AND talented guy when I was younger, and even now. HE WILL BE MISSED.
I remember him when I was young, he could make you laugh just with his giggle never mind his jokes He was a big fan of George Formby. One of the greats in British comedy.
I'd never heard of him before, I was born in the seventies but never came across him until recently. Funny fella sings and plays. No rudeness or crudeness. Very good
I didnt know Ken could sing so good and play a mean banjo. what a surprise, i mean the year is 2023 and i only just find this out ? I wonder what else i missed 😅 He was a treasure was Ken
USED TO WATCH KEN BACK IN THE 70S IN MANCHESTER A LOT ! EXCELLENT COMEDY AND A VERY GOOD SINGER AND PLAYER TOO ! PLUS, HE WAS GENUINELY A VERY NICE GUY.
@@grahamd5418 glad you agree Graham and as you rightly say his humour was aimed at anyone with no malice or ridicule. Dear Ken was of the old school blessed with a beautiful gift of making his fellow man laugh and you could watch it with the family knowing you was safe..?
What a good singer, didn't know he could sing, reminded me of Michael Holliday and boy can ge play that Ukulele.. I liked the comedians used to look forward to the shows on Saturday nights. Ah those memories.
hells teeth the man could sing play the ukilali and was very very funny i feel blessed i saw him on the comedians in the 70s god bless you ken and all the other comedians on the show who are no longer with us you will be always missed rip ken
I saw Ken Goodwin "Live" in the mid 1970's along with other greats of that time such as Frank Carson, Jim Davidson and Mike Reid. They don't make comedy like they used to, thanks to this PC World that we now live in.
I used to read a comic called TV Comic, which came out I think at the beginning of the 70's. Goodwin had his own comic strip called Settle Down With Ken Goodwin. Does anyone else remember this?
His voice was just like Bing Crosby and a great comedian. Sad to hear that when his wife was so sick with cancer he stopped performing to take care of her, so sad.
Too many modern so-called comedians rely on crudity and expletives to get laughs. Getting laughs without them takes intelligence and real talent, which Ken had by the bucketload.
What a lovely bloke Ken was. I always wondered what happened to him in his later years. There seems to be no trace of him whatsoever working in the 1990's as a stand up comic or even a singer. I tried to find some information on what happened to him in his later years but I couldnt find anything meaningful. As a comic, his style was clean and innocent which was actually great for the type of audiences he performed for. Each to their own I guess. The best comic in the 1970's was a bloke who never actually made it big. He was an alternative comedian who was 25 years ahead of his time. His name was John Paul Joans and he was amazing and completely different to the standard working mens club acts like Bernard Manning and George Roper. His persona on stage was like a mad warlock. In the 1970's John Paul Joans was the most talented stand up comic in Britain. But he did not know how to market himself to TV executives. As for Ken, he also messed up by not doing enough to promote himself on TV. Apart from appearing on the TV show called "the comedians" and this one off special broadcast Ken did very little TV work in the 1970's or 1980's If he would have marketed himself properly to the TV executives I'm sure that they would have given him his own consistent mini TV show as he was an all round clean stand up comic. Or at least they would have given him a slot here and there on other entertainment programmes Ken did not have a very good business brain, just like John Paul Joans who was light years ahead of his time. But Ken was a lovely bloke who will be missed dearly. Im sorry I never got to meet John and Ken personally, as me and them would have had a great laugh hanging out with eachother and playing pool at all the local pubs where ever they performed.
Wow, He passed 11years ago and I've only just found that He could sing - a lovely voice.
Awe what a great chap and a lovelu singing voice.
Saw Ken live in a nightclub in Ipswich YEARS ago........laughed loads, and no dirty jokes or swearing...got to respect this man!
I used to laugh at this comedian when i was a kid,

Great! Loved every minute of that.
Massively funny man, and WHAT a talent - I never realised.
A true comic who didn't need bad language or blue material to make you laugh. Sadly missed but not forgotten
Agreed. Also didn't need to get his laughs at other peoples expense.

@@lliambunter It's inappropriate to be so nasty as he is ok.
'PC World' product placement! But you're right, nostalgia is not what it used to be.

People who think 70's comedy was all sexism or racism should have a look at Ken
Great comic and good singer too!
I was shocked by his singing voice. His voice sounds really unique then he sings and it sounds different.
A true entertainer
His voice was just like Bing Crosby and a great comedian. Sad to hear that when his wife was so sick with cancer he stopped performing to take care of her, so sad.
