So glad you kept Shadows of Brimstone love watching you play the Drifter...
Hard to get rid stuff I painted
@@flintfivecoait7876 100%
Agreed!
Hell of a way to start your 50 game collection. Very hard to argue your decision.
Thank you my friend
What a glorious challenge! Sure, moving forward you'll buy back a few - but boy - what a sense of actually re-starting!. I'm trying to build up the fortitude to tackle a similar campaign. Tho my collection is probably an order of magnitude smaller it makes little difference as I probably have 1/10 the space you have available.
Looking forward to upcoming installments as you whittle it down to 50. Smart idea to disregard book games as a few file boxes will probably hold everythting you would ever want. Not getting hung up on small fry frees you to focus on the main monsters - boxed games, expansions, and those huge campaign games. I also put other small format games in the same category os "book" games since they don't take up much space either - magazine, ziplock, mint case, card box etc. for now my rough cut-off is those 6x9 shallow boxes like the old GDW Series 120... That or less I don't sweat.
Rock on brother!
Small games won’t count unless I have a few hundred
@@seahawk8601 yeah - smart. I'd consider an "Heirloom 50" too. Neatly boxed up and put in deep storage. Stuff that if the little-un's grow up and really get into the hobby they won't be saying "he owned *that one* and actually unloaded it?!?"... Having fun with this process is also important!
I love this idea for you Rob!!! I did similar thing recently. Would love if the description had a list of the games that joined the list so far!
Still working on it
I started the hobby like a year ago.
I find funny how most of the games you keep are the ones I actually decided to buy in the first place those being Load, DUN, SoB but also Middara, Dungeons of Doria and Dungeon Crusade. The only one I' wish to get that is missing is quest for the lost pixel.
And books: D100, 2D6 dungeon, Ker Nethalas. Those 3 for now
Cool
For all of the review and top 10 videos - this video here is the true video for when the chips are down: what gets to stay when all others have to go. Great games are being sold, even the cream of the crop games are being sold, but those that remain are jewels.
Very true
Shadows of Brimstone gotta stay!! It's tough man, but so are you!
I will think it over
Jon here, Those are always tough decisions, Rob. I always have a hard time with that too.
It’s got to be done
I love Fallen Lands!
@@TheRealThrillaGorilla Jon here-thank you so much for your kind words! We appreciate each and every one of you folks! *Virtual high-five!*
I would love to see you do an in-depth video on the new “One DnD.” I have a lot of mixed thoughts on it.
Just not into it at all been very sour on DnD
Rob so glad to hear it sounds like you are doing better. I hope you keep on the upswing.
Thank you my brother
I commend your efforts Rob, and it makes sense what you're doing. I think (like you do) it's good to have various hobbies/interests in life and not focus one thing (too much) at the exclusion of all else. That doesn't mean you don't have to abandon all your games, or stop going to conventions, etc. but become more focused on what works for you ... including the videos you decide to upload to youtube. Thanks for sharing your journey here. Cheers!
Thank you my brother!!! It means a lot
What about Masmorra? That would be another for the kids dungeon crawl. I love that it all fits in the original box.
I got to make some really tough choices
What you think about Tiny Epic Dungeon as a space saver/travel game dungeon crawl.
Hmmmm. Good game
Warhammer Quest forever!
You know it my brother
Yeah yeah yeah! WHQ, Shadows of Brimstone and HeroClix are my forever games. ( I tinker the least with SoB because they added a lot of ideas I already had for WHQ95 into the mix)
Oh, Dungeon Quest is going? That's a tough decision. DQ is such a classic. Short, intense and randomly generated experience. Love these videos Rob! Gets myself thinking about my gaming life as well
I have two versons
When you say you are keeping 2D Dungeon is that a short name for and the same as 2D6 Dungeon?
Yep
One point for each yes answer.
1. Will you play this game solo and really enjoy it?
2. Can you think of 3 people who you would like to play this game with?
3. Would those 3 people like to play this game?
4. Does this game have something you really like even if the game is not that good?
5. Has anyone asked you to play one of those games?
If a game scores 3 points it goes in the keep pile.
Wait 6 months and go back through the keep pile.
Too much time…..it just all is going to go
I’ve been culling a lot of games myself! I want my collection to be games I’m excited and want to play instead of going “do I really want to relearn this?”
Great point
Going to do the same for adventure games? Go 'hawks!
Sure am
Four Against Darkness and D100 will never leave me. Easier to store granted, but both will stay
Same here
Good “keep” list. I’d probably add Dungeon Crusaders to my list.
Just not for me ….it’s going
ok, I'll take the challenge......after a night to sleep on it here's how it would break for me. About 1/10 the collection so tough calls all around. Roughly broken out by category along with 10 alternates (*). Note I don't own LOD or DUN, and practically any Euros. Games in no particular order. I added 1 game to finish at 51...

@@seahawk8601 I probablyshould mention - this cut doesn't include my historical wargame collection. I'd have to do a similar triage for that half of games... Are you including wargames in your 50?
Rob....do you think once you downsize, you can get rid of the storage unit?
Yes
Also keep some things that are going to be somewhat evergreen and tradeable on Board Game Geek, you can go infinite without ever spending more than the cost of shipping.
I don’t really use BBG
Rob do you have any Conan ? The expansions like The shadow Kingdom?
Yes
Rob, are you keeping Ker Nathalas?
Not sure
My wife says Boo to your Sword & Sorcery decision.
It’s a shame ….it’s all painted…..and going
Did you try Tanares Adventures ?
No I have not
@@seahawk8601 Ow boy :) Luckily :) It takes 2 kallaxes :)
We’re still contemplating Dungeon Crusade, with rules summary from BGG. And we like OrcQuest. Moving Gloomhaven out, still playing Frosthaven.
Cool
I missed it, what about the whole collection of Shadows of Brimstone?
Going
@@seahawk8601 Wow! You were talking about it with such enthusiasm in some videos and seemed to like it a lot. I almost can't believe it.
Rob I call dibs on your Shadows of Brimstone if you ever decide to give it up ha ha ha!!
Nope it goes to auction so everyone gets a fair shot at it
I couldn't do it. I find it easy to pass on games I have to buy, because I'm retired and on a fixed income, but the games I have are like old friends lol. Anyways, great video and see you in the next one.
I know how you feel trust me
10 historic themed war games at least to be kept..?
Hmmmm tough one
@@seahawk8601 you’re right, 20 would be better 😁
Where are you sending off the games you don't want to play? - I always get stuck with with the large games - hard to get rid of.
Selling them all
Too bad your FLGS doesn't have consignment for used games. You could almost open up your own pop-up store.
